CN Announces Janet Drysdale as Interim Chief Commercial Officer
MONTREAL, July 21, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) announced today that Janet Drysdale will assume the role of Chief Commercial Officer on an interim basis, effective immediately. Janet is stepping into the role following the departure of Remi G. Lalonde.
Janet spent the first decade of her nearly 30-year career at CN in a variety of roles in Sales and Marketing. She is a seasoned and versatile leader with significant cross-functional experience having held executive positions at CN in Investor Relations, Finance, Corporate/Business Development, Sustainability, and most recently as Chief Stakeholder Relations Officer. "I am very pleased that Janet will be leading our commercial team during this critical time. Janet's depth of experience in sales and marketing, steady hand, and drive for results will provide strong leadership for the commercial team. The Chief Commercial Officer role is a critical executive position overseeing CN's strong and experienced team responsible for sales and marketing. The appointment of a permanent Chief Commercial Officer is a priority.
Biographical Notes Janet is an independent director of Rumo S.A., Brazil's largest freight railway. She is Chair of the Board of the Railway Association of Canada, and she sits on the Board of the Canadian American Business Council.
Ms. Drysdale holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from Queen's University and an MBA from McGill University. Ms. Drydale also holds the Global Competent Boards Designation (GCB.D).

Top potash producer Nutrien beats second-quarter profit estimates
(Reuters) -Nutrien beat Wall Street estimates for second-quarter profit on Wednesday, as the world's top potash producer benefited from improved demand in North America amid a robust corn planting season. U.S. farmers expanded corn plantings by 5% this year to the highest since 2013 while cutting soybean acres by 4% to a five-year low, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in June. The agency expects U.S. farmers will seed 95.203 million acres (38.527 million hectares) of corn this year, up from 90.594 million last year. Potash sales jumped 31% to $991 million in the three months ended June 30, the company said. Total sales rose to $10.44 billion, from $10.16 billion a year. The Saskatoon, Canada-based firm posted an adjusted profit of $2.65 per share, compared with analysts' average estimate of $2.40, according to data compiled by LSEG. Airbnb shares up on Q2 beat, $6 billion buyback announcement
-- Airbnb reported second-quarter earnings and revenue ahead of Wall Street expectations on Wednesday and unveiled a new $6 billion share buyback of the home-rental platform rose about 1.5% in after-hours trading. The company posted earnings of $1.03 per share, beating analysts' forecast of $0.93. Revenue rose to $3.1 billion, ahead of the $3.03 billion expected. For the current quarter, Airbnb said it expects revenue between $4.02 billion and $4.1 billion, roughly in line with analysts' projection of $4.05 billion. The company also announced a fresh $6 billion stock repurchase authorization. Airbnb had repurchased $2.5 billion in stock over the past year.
