How Taylor Swift Responsed to Matty Healy's Mom on WWHL

How Taylor Swift Responsed to Matty Healy's Mom on WWHL

Cosmopolitan7 days ago
Wondering how Taylor Swift feels about her ex-boyfriend Matty Healy's mom going onto Watch What Happens Live and telling everyone she's "glad" not to be her mother-in-law? About that.
To rewind real fast, Andy Cohen asked Matty's mom, Denise Welch, about The Tortured Poets Department, which is thought to be—at least in part—about Taylor's relationship with Matty. And for some reason Denise felt the need to respond to the question like this:
"Obviously, on pain of death, can I talk about that episode, but not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost. Not that I have anything against her at all! It was just, you know, it was tricky."
Denise added "She...listen, you're not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album about it. But Matty has taken it all in completely good grace. He's very happy with his amazing fiancée Gabriella, Gabbriette, who is gorgeous. So, we've moved on."
Cut to a Daily Mail source, who had this to say about Taylor's reaction: "It's a bit obnoxious in Taylor's eyes, but she has to take the high road. If there was anything that would be in a future song of Taylor's–if she were ever to respond–she would respond that way. But as of right now, she might just let it slide. She is not going to let Denise ruin her day."
They added that "Taylor respected Denise and will continue to do so, as this will go away very quickly. But if Denise continues to talk about it and bash Taylor, then Taylor would say something. The ball is still in Denise's court to see if she wants to continue the narrative she brought upon herself."
Fair enough!

Dakota Johnson's Complete Dating History

THE RUNDOWN Dakota Johnson has been in the spotlight pretty much since birth, as the daughter of Hollywood stars Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. But her career really exploded when she was cast opposite Jamie Dornan in the Fifty Shades of Grey series. Since then, Johnson has starred in action films, comedies, and more romances, including her most recent role in The Materialists as a matchmaker. With her success came more interest in her personal life. Johnson has dated a few noted celebrities over the years, with one of her longest relationships ending just this year. Here's Johnson's complete dating history do far. Dakota Johnson and Jordan Masterson started dating around 2012. In March 2014, she told ELLE that Masterson did some home renovation for her as a Christmas present. 'He gave me double sinks!' she shared. 'He did it himself. I think double sinks are the key to any relationship.' Masterson is part of a family of actors, including The Walking Dead's Alanna Masterson and Danny Masterson, and they are deeply involved in the Church of Scientology. In 2013, the Daily Mail reported that Masterson was uncomfortable with Johnson's fame associated with the 50 Shades franchise, as well as some of the explicit scenes in the movie, and had encouraged her to get involved with Scientology. There are no other reports on why they may have split. In July 2014, it was rumored the actress was seeing model and musician Matthew Hitt. Things were a bit off-and-on for the couple, and they seemingly split in December of that year. In April 2015, E! reported they were back together after they were seen in Los Angeles. In June 2016, E! News confirmed they had split up again, this time for good. 'Dakota and Matthew have dated on-and-off for the past two years,' said a source. 'They didn't get a chance to see much of each other recently because their work schedules didn't align. She's been up in Vancouver shooting the Fifty Shades trilogy.' Johnson was first linked to Coldplay's Chris Martin in October 2017. They were spotted grabbing dinner at Sushi Park in Los Angeles. According to a People onlooker, the pair appeared 'cozy, laughing and affectionate.' In December, sources confirmed the relationship to Us Weekly, saying, 'Dakota and Chris are definitely dating. They've gotten to know each other really well and are very comfortable from one another. Chris sends Dakota his music to get her opinion. It's more than just a fling.' The couple kept their relationship very private over the next eight years, never walking red carpets together and with very few public appearances side-by-side, though he did join her at events occasionally. In 2020, Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, talked about her friendly relationship with Johnson in a cover story interview with Harper's Bazaar. 'I love her,' Paltrow said. 'I can see how it would seem weird because it's sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her. I always start to think of the ampersand sign—what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? There's so much juice in leaning in to something like that.' In March 2024, Johnson shared rare details about her relationship with Martin and his children in a Bustle interview. She called his son and daughter with Paltrow her stepchildren. 'I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart,' she said. As for Martin, she said that she loves watching him perform: 'I love watching him,' she said. 'I could watch him every day. I don't know how to explain it. I feel like, I don't know... I'm watching my most favorite being do his most favorite thing.' She added, 'When people are really good at things, it is [sexy.]' A few days later, a source told People that Johnson and Martin had been engaged for some time. '[They] got engaged years ago but were in no rush to get married,' a source close to the couple said. Rumors of their relationship being on the rocks circulated in August 2024. On August 16, a source claimed to Daily Mail that Johnson and Martin had broken up. 'Chris and Dakota have tried desperately hard over the past few months to make their relationship work,' the source alleged. 'They'll always have love for each other but they've both come to the conclusion the relationship cannot be sustained long-term. They're both busy people, Chris has been in Europe with Coldplay and they both have personal priorities, passions and work commitments which don't naturally intertwine with each other. They wanted it to work but it just hasn't, and they've now accepted it is best to move on.' A rep for the couple denied the statement, saying rumors that they had broken up are 'not true,' per E!. 'They are happily together.' In June 2015, multiple sources told People that Martin and Johnson had fully broken up after reports of their relationship still being off-and-on. An insider said that 'it feels final this time.' The sources described their relationship as being 'on-off' during its eight-year run.

Prince Harry responds to claims he had bloody brawl with Prince Andrew over Meghan Markle remarks

Prince Harry has firmly denied ever rolling up his sleeves to confront his uncle, Prince Andrew, over alleged comments about his wife, Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex, 40, was said to have left the disgraced Duke of York with a 'bloody nose' following a 'heated argument' more than a decade ago, according to an excerpt of Andrew Lownie's new book, 'Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,' obtained by the Daily Mail. Lownie, who wrote the book about Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, claimed that Harry lost his cool after his uncle uttered a comment about the 'Suits' alum, 43, 'behind Harry's back.' 4 Prince Harry has firmly denied ever rolling up his sleeves to confront his uncle, Prince Andrew, over alleged comments about his wife, Meghan Markle. Getty Images The royal author alleged that Andrew had called the former actress an 'opportunist.' 'I can confirm neither of those things are true,' the Invictus Games founder's rep told Us Weekly of the alleged altercation. 'Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry.' The excerpt further alleged that 'punches were thrown' and that Andrew — who has recently won his yearslong fight to stay at the Royal Lodge — emerged from the fight with a bloody nose. 4 The disgraced Duke of York was said to have been left with a 'bloody nose' following a 'heated argument' with Harry more than a decade ago. Getty Images The Post has reached out to reps for the Sussexes for further comment. It's no secret that the Sussex camp has been embroiled in a yearslong feud with the Windsor clan since quitting royal life in 2020 and moving across the pond. The pair, who wed in 2018, have been totally estranged from the royal family for more than half a decade as they continue to live in Montecito, Calif., while raising son Archie, 6, and daughter Lilibet, 4. 4 The royal author alleged that Andrew had called the 'Suits' alum an 'opportunist.' 'Harry has shifted into a new way of thinking. The tone is now all about 'deconflicting' with his family,' a source recently told the Daily Mail. 'That's why his household agreed to draw up a 'grid' of his activities and share them with Buckingham Palace, and by extension with Kensington Palace.' What's more, the offer has reportedly also been extended to the Prince and Princess of Wales, who have not spoken to the Sussexes in years. 4 The Sussexes tied the knot in 2018 — just two years before quitting royal life and moving to the US. Still, it's said that Charles is 'cautious and wary' of his estranged son's overdue attempt at gluing the family back together.

Prince Harry Calls in Lawyers Over Prince Andrew-Meghan Fight Story

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have sent legal letters to the Daily Mail over allegations of a fist fight with Prince Andrew and derogatory comments about Meghan, Newsweek can reveal. Andrew Lownie's new book, Entitled, paints a scathing portrait of Andrew as sex-obsessed, boorish and privileged. However, it is Harry and Meghan's legal team, not the Duke of York's, who have been mobilized to respond to the allegations. Extracts from the book were serialized in the Daily Mail on Saturday, prompting a strongly worded denial by Harry's team that evening. Now though, Harry's team has told Newsweek they have called in lawyers: "Such are the gross inaccuracies, damaging and defamatory remarks made in the Daily Mail's story, I can confirm a legal letter from Prince Harry's counsel has been sent to the Mail." Saturday's statement, also sent to Newsweek, read: "I can confirm Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make the comments he is alleged to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry." Harry and Meghan filed repeated lawsuits between 2019 and 2022, but have not filed a single case since. In the meantime, Harry has been slowly winding down the flurry of actions, having won some, lost others and abandoned one. If the legal letter did turn into an actual lawsuit, it would represent a pivot back to a media strategy that Harry was largely thought to have abandoned. What Lownie's Biography Says About Harry and Meghan "At a family gathering in 2013," Lownie wrote, "Harry and Andrew had got into a heated argument, and punches were thrown over something Andrew said behind Harry's back. "According to a source close to both men, Harry told him he was a coward not to say it to his face. "Harry got the better of Andrew by all accounts, leaving him with a bloody nose before the fight was broken up." "Later Andrew told Harry his marriage to Meghan Markle would not last more than a month," the book reads, "and accused his nephew of going 'bonkers' and not doing any due diligence into her past. "He openly accused Meghan of being an opportunist and thought she was too old for Harry, adding that his nephew was making the biggest mistake ever. The source said: 'Harry later told William he hated Andrew.'" Jack Royston is chief royal correspondent for Newsweek, based in London.
