Omnicom Media Group consolidates influencer marketing services in Mideast

Arab News15-05-2025

DUBAI: Omnicom Media Group has announced that it will consolidate its influencer marketing capabilities in the Middle East and North Africa region under influencer management agency Creo following a global directive last month.
The move 'ensures our clients can harness the full potential of this communication channel' as digital consumption grows in the region and influencers play an 'instrumental role in shaping brand perceptions,' said CEO Elda Choucair.
Creo will give the group's clients 'access to the same advanced tools, talent and technology we've developed globally, but adapted to our region's unique landscape,' she added.
These include tools such as the Creo Influencer Agent, an AI-powered influencer selection tool; the Omni Creator Performance Predictor, which uses machine learning to predict the performance of content on Instagram; and the Creator Briefing Tool, which helps influencers create and get feedback on their content through Google's AI chatbot Gemini.
The agency will also leverage exclusive partnerships with platforms such as Amazon, TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat in the region.
Anthony Nghayoui, head of social and influencer at Omnicom Media Group, has been appointed to lead Creo.

Abu Dhabi expects more rapid growth for its financial center

The rush of financial firms setting up in Abu Dhabi to tap the oil-rich emirate's wealth funds and Middle East markets will continue at pace, the official in charge of expanding its financial hub has predicted. Abu Dhabi, which holds 90 percent of UAE's oil reserves, has accelerated efforts to diversify its economy, leaning on its vast sovereign funds that together manage almost $2 trillion of capital. Abu Dhabi Global Markets still lags Dubai, but the number of firms registered in the center rose by 32 percent last year, and the amount of assets managed by firms there grew 245 percent, as the likes of BlackRock, Morgan Stanley, AXA, PGIM and hedge fund Marshall Wace all set up or registered funds there. Earlier on Tuesday, Harrison Street, a US firm focused on alternative real estate assets with about $56 billion in assets under management, said it was opening an office in Abu Dhabi. The center reported last week that new operating licenses increased 67 percent in the first quarter of this year taking the total number of firms there past 2,380. 'We still have very strong growth,' ADGM's Chief Market Development Officer, Arvind Ramamurthy said, noting that the pipeline of new firms looked strong for the rest of the year, but refrained from giving a forecast for assets growth. 'Will it be 245 percent again this year? I wish. Let's see,' he said in an interview late on Monday. Firms from Japan, India and China are also setting up in growing numbers - asset managers and financial institutions but also crypto and artificial intelligence firms, Ramamurthy said providing any details. With cryptocurrency regulations in place since 2018, Abu Dhabi has become a major center for such investment, with sector heavyweights such as Circle and Coinbase represented there, while Abu Dhabi-backed investment group MGX has recently invested $2 billion worth of crypto tokens - issued by US President Donald Trump's World Liberty Financial venture - in the world's biggest crypto exchange, Binance.

Dubai Expects $15.4 Bln in Economic Gains from Metro Blue Line

Dubai expects its newly launched Blue Line metro project to generate more than 56.5 billion dirhams ($15.4 billion) in cumulative economic, social and environmental benefits by 2040, officials said at a groundbreaking ceremony attended on Monday by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The Blue Line represents one of the emirate's most significant transport infrastructure investments to date and is a cornerstone of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and the D33 economic agenda aimed at boosting the city's global competitiveness and quality of life. Spanning 30 kilometers with 14 stations serving nine districts, the Blue Line is expected to serve nearly one million residents by 2040. Authorities estimate it will reduce road congestion by 20% and increase property values along its route by up to 25%. During the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed approved the design of the Emaar station, which is set to become the world's tallest metro station at 74 meters high, with a daily passenger capacity of up to 160,000. Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said the new line will expand the city's rail network to 131 kilometers, with 78 stations and 168 trains in operation. Since its launch in 2009, Dubai Metro has transported more than 2.5 billion passengers and now accounts for around 6% of total public transport ridership in the city, according to figures released on Monday. Preliminary studies show the Blue Line will deliver wide-ranging benefits through reduced fuel consumption, lower carbon emissions and improved traffic safety. The line will also provide direct connectivity between Dubai International Airport and key economic, educational and tourism hubs, with travel times ranging from 10 to 25 minutes. Once completed, the Blue Line will become Dubai's fifth major mass transit initiative, following the Red and Green metro lines, Dubai Tram, and Route 2020.
