IT may be an unconscious bias but being attracted to people who look like your parents is surprisingly common - even among celebrities.
Cruz Beckham has become the latest celeb to fall into the Oedipus complex trap, with his Posh 'lookalike' girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, 29.

The slim brunette emulated Victoria's style when she was pictured in Notting Hill, London, this week, wearing all black gym gear paired with a baseball hat - a look favoured by Cruz's designer mum.
It's not the first time The 29-year-old songwriter has taken fashion inspiration from the former Spice Girl.
During Paris Fashion Week in March she was pictured wearing a navy satin gown almost identical to one worn by Victoria.
The songwriter has also been seen wearing a number of looks from Posh's Victoria Beckham brand, in a sure sign she has had the star's seal of approval.
But it isn't just men fall for women who look like their mothers - there are plenty of female stars dating men who look like their fathers.
According to a study by A.C Little on Evolution and Human Behaviour, opposite sex partners usually have a "type" - and they tend look a lot like their parents.
It comes down to two particular features.
The eye colour of the opposite sex parent is the best predictor of both male and female partner eye colour.
Hair colour is also a strong predictor for both sexes.
So, let's put some famous faces and their partners to the test.
Gemma Owens and Luca Bish

Former footballer Michael Owen's daughter Gemma entered the Love Island Villa in 2022 for series eight.
There, she met Luca Bish, the man who sells fish.
Fans were quick to notice the similarity between Luca and Michael, taking to social media to address it.
One person said: "What did Freud say?"
Freud's Oedipus complex refers to when young boys experience an unconscious feeling of desire towards his mother and a hostility towards his father.
Regardless, after a three month romance, Gemma and Luca cut ties and are both happy in their new relationships - with partners of opposite hair colours to their exes I might add...
Florence Pugh and Zach Braff

Some might say this is the ultimate case of stars whose lovers look exactly like their parents.
Florence and Zach were in a relationship from 2019 to 2022. They kept their romance pretty private until a birthday tribute to Zach from Florence sent fans spiralling.
Because of their 21 year difference, the couple received some serious backlash from trolls.
This coincided with social media users realising the uncanny resemblance between Florence's dad, Clinton Pugh who owned a number of restaurants and cafes in Oxford.
Taking to Reddit, one user said: "That's very scary and concerning!
"He is her dad's f***ing twin!! There's no way no one pointed this out to her or that she doesn't see the blatant similarity in their looks!"
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth

Miley and Liam - once the IT couple - met while filming The Last Song.
Their decade-long relationship imploded in 2019, less than a year after marriage, much to fans' dismay.
But not before they had speculated on shared features between Liam and Miley's dad Billy Ray Cyrus.
Both men have boast tall, dark and handsome features along with a similar build and facial structure.
What's more, Billy has openly spoken about "borrowing" Liam's clothing.
Lucy Mecklenburgh and Ryan Thomas

TV personality Lucy started dating CBB winner Ryan in 2017 and became engaged in 2019.
They share three children, one of which, Scarlett, is from Ryan's previous relationship with Corrie co-star Tina O'Brien.
Some may have noticed Lucy's dad Paul shares a few similar features with her fiance.
Both of which have teddy bear like features, with round faces, wide set eyes and short curly hair.
Funnily enough, Ryan has two other brothers Adam and Thomas who all look extremely similar.
Ryan has often laughed off confusion over looking more like Adam's twin than Scott.
But each are handsome and charismatic in their own right.
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky

The Australian bombshell met his glamorous Spanish wife in 2010 and had three children.
Chris stunned fans after sharing a tribute to his mum and wife on Instagram.
A user commented: "Your mum and your wife look the same age and that is NOT a dig at your babe wife."
While another simply said: "Your mum looks SO young!"
It's not the first time Chris' parents have stolen the limelight on his social media.
After the actor shared a picture of himself with his mum Leonie and his dad at the Commonwealth Games, a fan said: "Wow! Your mum looks more like your sister! Good genes!"
Followed by another: "You have very good-looking parents."
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank

The pair, who met in 2010 and have been together for over a decade and share two children.
Some may have spotted some similarities between Jack and Princess Eugenie's father, Prince Andrew.
Both men have dark hair, fair skin and prominent noses and ears.
Similarly, their faces are on the longer side, matched with toothy grins.
Andrew previously told ITV James is an "extraordinary young man" with "one of the kindest hearts".
He added: "It's a good match."
Ant McPartlin and Anne-Marie Corbett

Ant has been married to his partner Anne-Marie since 2021.
They share three children, two of which include Anne-Marie's daughters from a previous marriage.
Some may have noticed both Ant's wife and mum, Christine Woodhall, are strikingly blonde with similar haircuts.
Both also have soft complexions and similar skin tones.
Christine raised Ant as a single mum after his dad Ray walked out when he was 10 years old.
During Ant's rehab lockdown in 2018, he only allowed his mum Christine Woodhall and co-host Declan Donnelly to visit him.
According to The Mirror, Christine vowed to help her son "sort himself out", as he continued his battle with drink and painkiller addiction.

Is the Nintendo Switch 2 worth the £400 price tag? PETER HOSKIN says the answer is an emphatic yes... and reveals why

Nintendo Switch 2 Verdict: Joy redefined The latest Nintendo console, the Switch 2, is finally here — and a question mark block hovers over it, just like the ones above Mario's head. Is it worth the £395.99 asking price (or £429.99, when bundled with the new Mario Kart World)? In this economy, and with more powerful PlayStations and Xboxes available for less, that's quite an outlay. I could make a financial argument for the Switch 2. Its predecessor, the original Switch, has been around for eight years now. If this new console has the same shelf life, that amounts to about £50 a a pound a week. Most people's chocolate habits cost more. But financial arguments are boring, when the Switch 2 is anything but. Although this is mostly just a bigger, better Switch, it's bigger and better in exciting ways. The larger, higher-definition screen is tremendously good for handheld play. Its more powerful innards mean that it can handle some very visually demanding games, including Cyberpunk 2077, which is also available now. It will come in two varieties: just the console and the console bundled with Mario Kart World. The former will cost £395.99 and the latter £429.99 Can the PS5 and Xbox Series X run these games even better? Yes. But a PC can run them even better again. And none have the easy, well, switchability of the Switch 2, which can move from your TV to your handbag in an instant. Technological domination isn't everything. Then there are the Switch 2's innovations, like its new mouse mode. The detachable Joy-Con controllers can be laid on their sides and moved and clicked just like the mouse for your desktop computer. It adds to the sense that Nintendo has made the Swiss Army knife of consoles. Everything for all occasions. The real draw, though, is the games. Neither the PlayStation nor the Xbox will ever get Mario Kart World, which is a loss for them. This first open-world entry in the madcap racing series is — much like the Switch 2 itself — an improvement on its already great predecessor. And think of all the joys to come! A new Donkey Kong game in July, which looks as though it delivers on its hero's full destructive potential. Followed by, presumably, new Mario and Zelda releases in future. Get saving.

Dani Dyer shares a kiss with new husband Jarrod Bowen as she reveals glimpse into the lead up to the moment they said 'I do' in unseen snaps from their lavish wedding celebrations

Dani Dyer has treated fans to a glimpse into the lead-up to her lavish wedding day with Jarrod Bowen at the weekend. The former Love Island star, 28, and the West Ham captain, 28, tied the knot during an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family on Saturday. And in the days since, the newlyweds have been sharing snippets from their nuptials on social media, with Dani taking to Instagram on Thursday with even more unseen snaps, with the caption: 'Moments before'. This time, she showed her followers a look inside the moments before she and Jarrod became husband and wife, with a sweet shot of the couple kissing in the car, after popping a celebratory bottle of champagne. The pair could be seen enjoying spending time with their families, with Dani posing for a beaming selfie with proud dad, Danny Dyer. She also shared a slew of sweet photos of her son Santiago, four, who she shares with ex Sammy Kimmence, tucking into several meals as he prepared to be a page boy, alongside Dani's brother Arty, 11. While her and Jarrod's twin daughters Summer and Star, two, served as flower girls for their parents big day, and could be seen looking adorable in their matching floral dresses. And though she kept her wedding gown secret until the big day, Dani still ensured she looked every inch the bride, wearing an elegant white minidress, with a low back and huge bow detail. While even when she was getting ready, she donned a white jumper with the words 'BRIDE' emblazoned on the back. For the actual ceremony, Dani dazzled in a £10,000 designer gown by Suzanne Neville, before changing into a stunning lace minidress for the raucous reception. Speaking on her joint podcast with Danny, Dani revealed she was keeping her first wedding dress a surprise from her dad until the big day to honour a special tradition. 'Have you not seen that first look when the dad sees their daughter in their dress and that? Oh, it's lovely,' she shared. 'Yeah, your dad's not meant to see it – it's a moment for the dad as well!' White rose petals lined the aisle, with floral sculptures and candles creating a stunning backdrop which the bride and groom shared a kiss in front of. The fun was kicked off by father of the bride Danny, who led a wedding breakfast chant of the rude West Ham anthem, 'Bowen's on fire and he's sh***ing Dani Dyer,' to the 1997 hit Freed from Desire, changing the lyrics to say 'married'. While Dani's sister Sunnie was one of six bridesmaids, who all wowed in matching one shoulder pink dresses. The 18-year-old also had a role during the ceremony as she read a poem from Sex and The City's wedding scene, which went: 'His hello was the end of her endings. Her laugh was their first step down the aisle. His hand would be hers to hold forever. 'His forever was as simple as her smile. He said she was what was missing. She said instantly she knew. She was a question to be answered. And his answer was 'I do'.' After Dani and Jarrod exchanged their vows, the couple were quick to indulge in their huge wedding cake, with the happy couple seen lifting a huge slice in a fun video. The reception also boasted a live band who serenaded Dani as she shared a sweet father-daughter dance with Dani. White rose petals lined the aisle, with floral sculptures and candles creating a stunning backdrop which the bride and groom shared a kiss in front of Dani has had a whirlwind few months, filled with two lavish hen parties and all the excitement of getting ready for her big day. Speaking to Heat magazine earlier this week, Dani said: 'I have finally done my table plans now. Until you are in there writing names out, making sure you have tables of 10, it's the most stressful experience ever - that's the only thing I've not enjoyed.' Dani also revealed she will take on a double-barrel surname after the wedding, becoming Dyer-Bowen. She said: 'I am going to keep the Dyer - I am going to do Dani Dyer-Bowen just because of my work. I feel like if I am Dani Bowen, it takes that thing away from me. We are double-barrelling it.'

CHRIS SUTTON: People were underwhelmed when Ange arrived in Glasgow, too... and look how that ended up!

The response to Rangers choosing Russell Martin to lead them into their new future has been underwhelming, and I get it in a way. It was between him and Ancelotti. When I first saw the latter linked, I thought, 'Jesus! Carlo?' But, no, it was his son, Davide, who's never managed before. Maybe there was a fantasist element among the Rangers fanbase who worked themselves up into a frenzy over that surname, therefore, and now they're disappointed that they've been left with Martin. But he deserves a fair crack at showing what he can do with this opportunity. There was a similar reaction when Celtic appointed Ange Postecoglou, remember. The jibes started as soon as he was announced. 'They've brought in an Australian bloke who's just been working in Japan,' and all that. But Postecoglou didn't turn out to be too bad, did he? Martin has a similar philosophy to him, too. Rangers might actually try to play football for the first time in goodness knows how many years, and the fans might grow to like his purist style if they give it a chance after the direct approach they witnessed under Philippe Clement. Martin deserves that leeway at the very least. Yes, we all know how badly it went with Southampton in the Premier League last season, but then he got them out of the Championship before that and did it in style. Rangers fans may see his win record in charge of MK Dons and Swansea and reckon they should be aiming for a higher calibre of manager. I say judge him on what he does next, not what he did before. Recruitment will be key for him. Making sure Nicolas Raskin stays would help, too. Last season, Rangers did well in their head-to-heads with Celtic. Yet they still ended up 17 points behind their great rivals in the Premiership. That wasn't where they threw away any chance at the title. It was in their other games. Now Martin needs to find that consistency which will hopefully get the fans on his side. I suspect they would have had an issue with whoever was appointed. That's the nature of football fandom. But let's judge Martin on how he does, not before he's even been shown where his office is at the training ground.
