Marco Penge is back from betting ban and wins his first European tour title
The win capped off a wild six months for Penge, which began with him narrowly keeping his European card and ended with him finishing third in the Asian Swing to earn a spot in the PGA Championship next month.

The European tour gave Penge a three-month suspension for betting on golf, though it determined he never bet on himself or on anyone in the tournaments he played. He was fined 2,000 pounds.
The 26-year-old Penge held off an early charge from Sean Crocker on the front nine as Crocker fell back with too many bogeys and shot 66 to finish three back along with Kristoffer Reitan (67). Penge finished at 17-under 271.
'This obviously means the world to me,' Penge said, 'It's something that I've always dreamt of achieving, winning on the biggest stage. After my time off, it was the thing that I wanted to really prove to myself and prove to everyone, to show what a player I am.'
Keita Nakajima won the Asian Swing on the European tour, followed by Eugenio Chacarra of Spain and Penge. All three earned a spot at Quail Hollow for the PGA Championship on May 15-18 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Penge also moved to No. 11 in the Race to Dubai.

It was the 19th goal of the season for Messi, who leads MLS, and a needed win for Inter Miami, which moved up to fourth place after slipping to sixth in the East following a 4-1 rout at Orlando last week. Miami coach Javier Mascherano said the team will check in with Messi on Sunday to see how he felt after the game, in regard to the hamstring injury as well as fatigue. There were times during the match that Messi appeared to stretch out his right leg. 'The important thing is that he finished (the match),' Mascherano said through an interpreter, adding that he thought Messi seemed to get more comfortable as the game went on. ___

Rookie QB Jaxson Dart stars in his home preseason debut as the Giants beat the Jets 31-12
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Getting snaps with the first-team offense, then throwing for a touchdown and running for another with the backups, Jaxson Dart shined in his new home stadium debut for the New York Giants as part of a 31-12 victory against the Jets on Saturday night in each team's second preseason game. The rookie first-round pick whom the Giants envision as their long-term franchise quarterback got a chance to show a little bit of how he could contribute in the near future by subbing in for starter Russell Wilson mid-drive and connecting with Theo Johnson on a 30-yard pass. Dart capped a 71-yard second half-opening drive with a TD throw to Greg Dulcich and scored on a goal-line sneak to finish another after completing 13 consecutive passes. Dart was 14 of 16 for 137 yards, delivering on the hype under the lights at MetLife Stadium before giving way to Jameis Winston. Wilson had his own highlight, throwing his so-called 'moon ball' to undrafted free agent Beaux Collins for an 80-yard gain. The 36-year-old had another intercepted because of a miscommunication with Collins, his final throw of a 4 of 7, 108-yard performance. While the Giants (2-0) got clicking, questions remain on offense for Justin Fields and the Jets (1-1). He left after two run-heavy series 1 of 5 for 4 yards, with Nick Folk's 38-yard field goal the only points the starters got on the board. Jackson Hopkins scores 1st MLS goal for DC United in 1-1 tie with Montreal
MONTREAL (AP) — Jackson Hopkins scored his first goal in MLS on Saturday night for D.C. United in a 1-1 tie with CF Montreal. D.C. (4-15-8) snapped five-game road losing streak. Hopkins, a 21-year-old homegrown in his fourth MLS season, opened the scoring in the 28th minute. The 6-foot-2 midfielder bent a low shot from the top of the penalty arc inside the left post to give United a 1-0 lead. Caden Clark re-directed a misplayed pass by Aarón Herrera to Prince Owusu, who fed a charging Luca Petrasso for the finish from the edge of the 6-yard box to make it 1-1 in the 41st. United's Luis Barraza stopped two shots. Montreal (4-15-8) is unbeaten in three consecutive games for the first time this season. Thomas Gillier had two saves for Montreal.
