Interior Ministry Takes Action Against 15 Violators of Hajj Regulations

The Ministry of Interior has announced that Hajj Security Forces stationed at the entrances to Makkah apprehended 15 individuals—seven residents and eight citizens—for violating Hajj regulations by transporting 61 people without valid Hajj permits.
Seasonal administrative committees have issued rulings against the violators, including the transporters, their accomplices, and the unauthorized pilgrims.
The penalties imposed include imprisonment, fines of up to SAR 100,000, public disclosure of the violators' identities, deportation of resident offenders with a 10-year ban on reentry after serving their sentences, and legal proceedings to confiscate the vehicles used in the violations.
Additionally, individuals found attempting to perform Hajj without the necessary permits face fines of up to SAR 20,000.
The Ministry urged all citizens and residents to adhere strictly to Hajj regulations to help ensure the safety and security of all pilgrims.

The ministry has issued administrative rulings against all parties involved: the transporters, their accomplices, and those who were provided with transportation. Penalties against them included imprisonment, fines of up to SR100,000, and public disclosure of the violators' identities. Residents involved face deportation and a 10-year ban from reentering the Kingdom after serving their sentence. Judicial requests have been made to confiscate vehicles used in these violations, and individuals attempting to perform Hajj without a permit face a fine of up to SR20,000. Sheikh Al-Moajab reiterated that the Saudi authorities will confront crimes that threaten Hajj security. He emphasized the need to complete all cases in a short time using modern technology, keeping pace with the current developments in serving pilgrims. This will be accomplished by qualified cadres of the Public Prosecution. He stressed the need for swift initiation of criminal proceedings against any actions violating the sanctity of religious rituals, including fraud, deception, commercial misconduct, or breaches of approved Saudi standards for pilgrim products and services. The attorney general underlined the imperative to combat cybercrimes that could threaten Hajj security or disrupt pilgrims' peace of mind, emphasizing the necessity of taking all requisite legal measures.
