Tamannaah Bhatia has always impressed fans with her glowing, healthy skin. At 35, the actress continues to rely on age-old skincare rituals passed down by her mother. Her secret? Two easy-to-make homemade face masks with simple kitchen ingredients. They help maintain her radiant look even after long days of makeup and styling.
Beauty rituals passed down by her mother
In a conversation with Vogue India, the actress shared that her skincare routine has always been influenced by her mother's advice. She revealed that when she began her acting career as a teenager, her mother introduced her to natural skincare remedies to balance the effects of daily makeup and hairstyling.
Bhatia shared that she was excited to reveal her beauty secrets and the skincare rituals she had been following since childhood. The Odela 2 actress mentioned that these practices were taught to her by her mother when she began her acting career, as she had to wear makeup and style her hair daily. To balance the effects of those chemicals, she wanted to include something natural in her routine.
Tamannaah also highlighted the importance of using raw and organic ingredients. The fashion maven recommended adjusting the mask consistency according to your skin type. For those with dry skin, she advised adding more honey to hydrate and moisturize.
Exfoliating face scrub mask
This mask is designed to gently exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells and leaving the face soft and smooth.
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon sandalwood powder (chandan)
1 teaspoon powdered coffee
1 teaspoon organic raw honey
How to Use:
Mix the ingredients together to form a paste. Apply it to your face, gently massaging in circular motions while avoiding the eye area. Leave the scrub on for about 10 minutes, then rinse off with lukewarm water. Pat your face dry. Tamannaah notes that this scrub helps make the skin feel supple and refreshed.
Moisturizing face mask
This mask helps soothe and hydrate the skin, especially after exfoliation.
Ingredients:
Rosewater
Gram flour (besan)
Cold yogurt (dahi)
How to Use:
Combine the ingredients into a smooth mixture and apply it evenly across the face, including under the eyes. Leave the mask on until it dries, which usually takes about 10 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water and gently pat your skin dry.
This mask cools the skin, reduces redness, and provides deep moisturization. The Happy Days actress added that if you're in a rush, simply applying rosewater after using the exfoliating mask can also be beneficial.
These simple DIY remedies reflect the timeless wisdom of natural skincare and prove that sometimes the best beauty secrets really do come from home.

Happy birthday, Suhana Khan: When Shah Rukh's daughter revealed beauty secret she inherited from Gauri Khan

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's daughter Suhana Khan celebrates her 25th birthday today, May 22. The Gen-Z star is only one film old and has already carved a place for herself with her sartorial choices and minimal beauty looks. So, it makes sense that we take a leaf out of her book. Also Read | Eye health 101: Nutritionist shares supplements and simple habits to support your eyes in the long term In an interview with Vogue India during the Tira Beauty store launch in Mumbai, shared on YouTube on November 14, 2024, Suhana had talked about the one beauty ritual that she has inherited from her mother, Gauri Khan. 'She (Gauri Khan) always would use these body oils to moisturise, and I think that's something that I love doing as well,' Suhana revealed. A post shared by Suhana Khan (@suhanakhan2) Body oils are known for packing in several benefits that soothe and moisturise our skin. In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Pooja Nagdev, aromatherapist and cosmetologist, differentiated between moisturisers and pointed out, 'You might be wondering what the difference is between a body oil and skin lotions, the answer is the fatty content that body oil contains. Fatty content is important for our skin since it helps the skin from ageing and sun damage." Per a 2018 study on natural oils for skin-barrier repair, the researchers said that natural oils possess specific compounds with antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-itch properties, making them attractive alternative and complementary treatments for xerotic and inflammatory dermatoses associated with skin-barrier disruption. Additionally, oils with a higher linoleic acid to oleic acid ratio have better barrier repair potential, whereas oils with higher amounts of irritating oleic acid may be detrimental to skin-barrier function. Sara Tendulkar Spills Her PCOS Survival Secrets—And It All Started With Black Coffee

Last Updated: From stubborn teenage acne to balancing hormones through black coffee and weight training, Sara Tendulkar shares her science-backed journey to conquering PCOS Sara Tendulkar, a qualified nutritionist and biomedical scientist, is steadily stepping out of her famous father's shadow to build her own wellness-centric identity. In a candid chat with Vogue India, the 26-year-old opened up about her long and emotional battle with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), and how it shaped her relationship with skincare, self-image, and health. Her journey with PCOS began early—around the seventh grade—when acne became a daily struggle. 'It affected my self-esteem. With PCOS, your androgen levels are elevated, so there's acne, excess hair growth, oily skin, and it's easier to gain weight," she explained. Sara recalled how makeup became her safety net. 'When I was finally old enough to wear it, I wouldn't step out without it. I was convinced everyone was staring at my skin." Over the years, she tried nearly every fix available—acid peels, retinol, topical treatments, oral antibiotics—but nothing worked consistently. That's when her mother, Anjali Tendulkar, stepped in and encouraged a more science-backed, sustainable approach. Under the guidance of an endocrinologist, Sara adopted intermittent fasting, weight training, and progressive overload. 'Managing her protein intake, losing weight gradually, and building muscle helped balance her hormones naturally," said Anjali, revealing that Sara is now free from PCOS. Today, Sara's routine is rooted in balance and mindfulness. While she doesn't swear by a single wellness trend, she does have one non-negotiable: black coffee. 'I've gone through the detox juice phase, but my mornings now are simple—water, a few nuts, and a cup of black coffee. I like working out early, and that cup gives me the push I need," she shared. Black coffee, when consumed in moderation, can be more than just a morning pick-me-up. Dr. Pranav Honnavara Srinivasan, a senior consultant gastroenterologist, Fortis Bengaluru, explains that it offers a host of benefits. 'The caffeine stimulates the central nervous system, improving mental alertness and focus by blocking adenosine receptors and increasing dopamine and norepinephrine levels," he said. It also contributes to enhanced physical performance by boosting adrenaline, aids fat burning by increasing metabolic rate, and provides a solid dose of antioxidants to combat inflammation and oxidative stress. However, Dr. Srinivasan cautions against overconsumption. 'Too much caffeine can raise cortisol levels and cause restlessness, irritability, or anxiety—especially in those sensitive to stimulants. Moderation is key." Sara Tendulkar's story is one of resilience, science-based healing, and self-acceptance—proof that with the right approach, even long-standing health challenges like PCOS can be overcome.
