How many Indianapolis Colts on list of NFL's top 100 players for 2025 season? Two Indianapolis Colts players appeared on a list of the NFL's top 100 players for the 2025 season.
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports put together his list of the top 100 NFL players heading into the 2025 NFL season, and included were two members of the Indianapolis Colts' offense.
Coming in at No. 50 was running back Jonathan Taylor, and at No. 80 was guard Quenton Nelson.
After dealing with injuries in 2022 and 2023, Taylor was mostly healthy last season, appearing in 14 games and back to his highly productive self. Taylor totaled 1,431 rushing yards, which was the fourth-most in the NFL, and did so at 4.7 yards per rush.
While all eyes will be on the Colts' quarterback situation, Taylor's level of success in 2025 will play a key role in determining how good this offense can be. Having a strong run game keeps the offense ahead of the sticks and out of predictable passing situations.
Nelson, meanwhile, made his seventh consecutive Pro Bowl team and was also named a second-team All-Pro--his first All-Pro nod since the 2021 season.
He ranked 15th among all guards in pass-blocking efficiency, and he was fourth in run-blocking grade. According to PFF's tracking data, Taylor averaged 4.8 yards per rush when running to Nelson's direct left and 5.3 yards per rush when running to his direct right.
Not included on this list was DeForest Buckner. Last season, by PFF's metrics, he was one of the more productive defensive tackles in the game, ranking seventh in pass rush win rate, 12th in pass rush productivity, and ninth in run-stop rate.

Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders reportedly cited for speeding, driving more than 100 mph

Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was pulled over on Tuesday morning for allegedly driving more than 100 miles per hour on a Cleveland-area highway. Sanders, according to Fox 8, was pulled over on 71 North around 12:24 a.m. on Tuesday by police. He was cited for driving 101 mph, which was 41 mph over the posted speed limit. Advertisement Further specifics of the incident are not known. Sanders can simply pay a fine for the ticket should he choose not to fight it in court. The Browns selected Sanders in the fifth round earlier this spring in what was one of the more shocking slides in recent NFL Draft memory. Sanders threw for 4,134 yards with 37 touchdowns last season at Colorado while teaming up with Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. Sanders, the son of Hall of Famer and Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, is one of several quarterbacks fighting for the starting job in Cleveland this fall while Deshaun Watson remains sidelined with an Achilles injury. The Browns selected Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the third round of the NFL Draft earlier this spring, too, and they have Kenny Pickett and veteran Joe Flacco available, too. If Sanders were to be the starting quarterback for the Browns, he'd be just the second quarterback selected in the fifth round or later of the draft to start in Week 1 since the league merger.

NFL's global competition includes cricket

The NFL wants to become a global force. And the primary competition is soccer. But there's another sport that is more popular than our most popular sport, too. As noted by John Ourand of Puck, the Indian Premier League's final match generated 169 million viewers. That's more than 30 million more than the Super Bowl, and the most-watched cricket event in Indian history. Advertisement India's population exceeds 1.4 billion. That's more than three times the size of the United States. So there's greater saturation of the American market by American football. Still, as strange as it sounds, there are bigger sporting events than the Super Bowl. Ourand raises the question of whether it's time for cricket to make a dent in the American market. But the broader reality for the NFL is that there's plenty of work to do to take a dent out of other sports that currently generate far more interest beyond our borders. If the NFL can pull it off, a billion-dollar business will become a trillion-dollar business.
