Larson and Aldrich have not lost a postseason game as varsity players, present in all five title wins since joining the team in eighth grade.
'It's been amazing,' said Aldrich, who will play at Providence. 'It's probably been the best five years of my softball life. These are all my family now, no matter what year.'
The Mountaineers (22-3) delivered the first blow, plated two runs in the top of the first. The Tigers (25-0) eventually wore them down, consistently putting the ball in play.

Larson ripped a middle-inside pitch over the left field fence to tie the game in the second inning. She also crushed a double off the center field fence, essentially the knockout shot as the Tigers struck for five runs in the sixth.

'I don't know what it is about the sixth inning – you just want me to have a heart attack,' joked Taunton coach Michelle Raposo, after the Tigers came back with two runs in the sixth inning in their semifinal victory. 'It hasn't been just one part of the lineup that's working, it's the entire lineup.'
Larson started the state final as a freshman, but the presence of 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year Sam Lincoln shifted her out of the circle. For her senior season before she plays at Georgetown, Larson was the ace again.

'All of my spins,' said Larson, on what changes she made since pitching on the same stage four years ago. 'I've also added a bunch of pitches that I was moving tonight. What worked for me four years ago is not my best pitch now.'
For another year, the Tigers have reached the top of the mountain.
'I'm so proud of Taunton High and the dynasty that we've created,' said Larson. 'It's amazing for the girls who graduated before me and also the girls that will come next year.'

Erik Bakich Makes Bold Omaha Promise After Clemson's Season-Ending Loss
Erik Bakich Makes Bold Omaha Promise After Clemson's Season-Ending Loss originally appeared on Athlon Sports. CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson's season came to a crashing halt Sunday afternoon with a 16-4 loss to Kentucky in the NCAA Regional elimination game, but head coach Erik Bakich's message after the game wasn't one of disappointment. It was one of urgency — and bold optimism. Advertisement 'This team is going back to Omaha,' Bakich said at the postgame press conference. 'Clemson baseball is going back to Omaha. It's going to happen.' It's a strong promise for a program that hasn't made it to the College World Series since 2010 — a fact Bakich didn't shy away from. If anything, he leaned into it. 'Clemson baseball hasn't been to Omaha since 2010. We know. We've got it. We're doing everything in our power to fix that,' he said. 'Falling short like this is not the standard. That's not what this program is about.' The Tigers, who finish 45-18, were overwhelmed by Kentucky's offense, giving up 11 runs across the third and fourth innings. The blowout loss capped off a brutal end to Clemson's postseason, with back-to-back lopsided defeats after a promising start to the regional. Advertisement Despite the way things ended, Bakich said this team 'overachieved' after losing a significant amount of production from last year's roster. 'There was never a question of effort, of attitude,' Bakich said. 'They found ways to flex their mental toughness and get ahead.' With the offseason now underway, Bakich made it clear Clemson will be aggressive in retooling the roster — starting with the transfer portal. 'You've gotta have good players,' he said. 'This is a place where you can get anyone to come play.' Their top priority heading into the offseason? Arms. Advertisement 'Pitching covers up a lot,' Bakich said. 'We need more and more guys who can just shut it down … and guys that can change a game with one swing.' Players like Cam Cannarella, who extended his hitting streak to 22 games Sunday, and Dominic Listi, who set an ACC record with his 30th hit-by-pitch, gave the Tigers consistency, but not enough firepower when it mattered most. Still, Bakich believes the foundation is set — and his vision for where Clemson baseball is going couldn't be more clear. 'This is Clemson. We're going to attract the right guys,' he said. 'Now we've got to go get them. We've got work to do, and we're not backing down.' Livvy Dunne Turns Heads at LSU's College World Series Game in Omaha
Livvy Dunne was the talk of the town on Saturday when LSU took on Alabama at the Men's College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The 22-year-old former gymnast showed up and showed out wearing a Paul Skenes jersey that was half LSU (on the front) and half Pittsburgh Pirates (on the back). The jersey, of course, pays homage to her beau, Skenes. Advertisement Dunne drew a ton of attention upon arrival at Charles Schwab Field, from when she walked the bowels of the stadium to when she finally reached her seat. Once there, fans snapped photos and some even flocked to her. At one point, in images shared on social media, Dunne could also be seen FaceTiming the MLB star. In an interview, Dunne said she had to come back to Omaha to support her Tigers, who won the national championship there in 2023. The reporter also asked her where she copped the custom jersey, and Dunne said someone sent it to her! She said she couldn't recall who at the moment, but chances are requests for the unique jersey will soon fly through the roof. Dunne had a lot to cheer about on Saturday, as the Tigers went on to beat the Razorbacks, 4-1.
