Good Morning Britain was halted for some breaking news on Thursday as Ranvir Singh gave a 'disturbing' update.
Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley were hosting the show and handed over to Ranvir for the news slot. The presenter then told viewers: 'Disturbing breaking news from America, two members of staff from the Israeli embassy in Washington have been shot dead outside the city's Jewish museum.
"The man and woman were killed as they left an event. The suspect is in custody. Police say he shouted 'Free Palestine' while being detained."
The deadly shooting occurred on Wednesday evening at the crossroads of 3rd and F Streets NW - an area known for its high-level federal presence. The crime scene is located directly behind the FBI's field office and the U.S. attorney's office, and in front of the Capital Jewish Museum.
US Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that two Israeli Embassy staff were killed. She said via her X account "Two Israeli Embassy staff were senselessly killed tonight near the Jewish Museum in Washington DC. We are actively investigating and working to get more information to share. Please pray for the families of the victims. We will bring this depraved perpetrator to justice."
Earlier this week, it was revealed that GMB will be extended by 30 minutes in 2026. The show will now air from 6am - 9.30am in a huge schedule shake-up at the channel, which is also affecting night time programming with major changes planned for Corrie and Emmerdale also.
Scots star Lorraine Kelly's morning show will now be reduced to 30 minutes and is only set to run for 30 weeks of the year.
Channel bosses made the announcement in a release which read: ' This change will see ITV bring all its national news gathering into one hub, with Good Morning Britain benefitting from the journalistic and production resources already in place for national news bulletins, for the website and for digital platforms including ITVX."
Lorraine will now only run for 30 weeks of the year, and will air from 9.30am-10am when it's on and when Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am.
Yesterday we reported Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway has found herself "shocked" to discover she's still deeply in debt following an HMRC update indicating nearly £140,000 in loan debts from her late husband's firm as well as a sizable tax bill of £288,000.
Documents released this week have drawn attention to the ongoing debts of Derek's company Astra Aspera, with accounts showing significant sums that Kate is facing pressure to settle.

Kash Patel admitted that conspiracy theorists looking for more incriminating evidence from disgraced pedophile Jeffrey Epstein 's private island might be disappointed. The FBI Director took part in a wide-ranging interview with Joe Rogan where the host asked him point blank: 'Is there video from the island?' While Patel said that there was, he merely suggested that the footage is 'not of what you want.' Neither Patel nor Rogan would name names but suggested that 'what you want' is 'some guy or gal committing felonies.' 'If I had it, I'd be the first guy to bring this case hard and fast,' Patel claimed. He added that his team at the FBI has viewed everything they have been given lawful access to from the infamous island. Epstein's 'pedo island' aka Little Saint James in the US Virgin Islands was a focal point of his horrific child-sex-trafficking operation. It has long been believed that Epstein hosted a wide array of rich and famous clients at the island. Patel said that the bureau is doing the best that they can and encouraged anyone with information to get in touch. 'I got here 100 days ago. I can't be held to account for 20 years of failures,' he said. Though Patel claimed that his FBI will 'give you everything we can' he does have some boundaries set around Epstein's victims. 'Remember, we're not gonna' re-victimize women. We're not gonna' put that s*** back out there. It's not happening because then, he wins.' When Epstein first purchased Little Saint James, he paid $7.9 million. Epstein bought the island in 1998 and later made it his primary residence, employing a staff of 70 people. At the time of his death it was valued at $63.8 million. In the aftermath of Epstein's death, it was listed for sale for $125 million in 2021. In May 2023, it was sold to billionaire Stephen Deckoff who vowed to turn it into a luxury resort by 2025. Deckoff is reported to have paid around $60 million for the property as well as for Great St. James. Epstein's estate has said that any money generated from the sale of his properties would be used to settle lawsuits. The troubling past of Little St James has been widely documented in photographs, victim testimony and court cases against Epstein and his associates. Though Patel claimed that his FBI will 'give you everything we can' he does have some boundaries set around Epstein's victims Epstein - with help from his confidante and fixer Ghislaine Maxwell - trafficked many young girls to the island, where they were raped and abused. Photographs previously published by show young girls posing on the paradise island, or giving massages to Epstein while makes telephone calls. Maxwell is seen in other pictures being waited on by the legion of staff who Epstein recruited to manage the island. Epstein is said to have imported 200 workers after his purchase of the island to build a stone mansion, two guest houses, a helipad and a bizarre gold-domed structure that resembles a temple. The temple structure was built between 2009 and 2013 but it remains unclear what the building was for. Several of Epstein's victims have recalled the abuse and suffering they faced on the island. Prince Andrew has admitted he has visited the island, but always maintained he was not aware of Epstein's crimes and never took part in anything illegal. The island has drawn several thrill-seekers who've ignored the no trespassing signs to explore the property. Luke Rudkowski of We Are Change and Jeff Berwick were able to get onto the island and explore Epstein's office, a few of the underground lairs and get close enough to the pedophile's infamous temple on Little St James to reveal that the doors of the structure are in fact painted on the building. Rudkowski explored several underground structures, including one that appeared to house the island's generator. There have also been claims the island has its own subterranean tunnel network, though this has never been substantiated. Epstein's resort also include a ten-person shower for orgies, according to a maintenance worker. Steve Scully said in 2020 that Epstein installed the shower in a bathroom whose walls were covered with pictures of naked girls. Epstein had remodeled his bedroom several times and during these renovations he put in a 'ten-showerhead shower - for group showers', Scully claimed. 'There were more pictures in the bathroom than anywhere else – including of young, barely clothed or semi-nude girls,' he added.

Resident Evil Requiem trailer reveals release date and new main character
The game previously known only as Resident Evil 9 has finally been revealed and it features a deep cut reference to Resident Evil Outbreak. Summer Game Fest 2025 was a very low-key affair, with hardly any new AAA game reveals. There was still lots of interesting looking titles, such as Mortal Shell 2 and Stranger than Heaven, but the biggest title by far was Capcom's Resident Evil Requiem, aka Resident Evil 9. Technically, the game was announced last summer but nothing had been seen of it up till now and even the reveal trailer left a lot more questions than answers… except when it comes to the release date. Requiem will be out on February 27, just a few weeks before the franchise's 30th anniversary, and the new game is promising a shift in 'tone and gameplay', as well as a return to Racoon City. Capcom didn't detail what the changes would entail but rumours have long suggested the game will be ditching the first person view of the last couple of titles and going back to the traditional third person, over the shoulder view. That wasn't confirmed by the reveal, but it did seem to imply that. As for the tone, it's hard to say but it appeared to be more serious, when compared to the schlocky, more fantastical nature of Resident Evil Village. Resident Evil's ability to change and evolve is one of the secrets of its success but it was still nice to see the police station from Racoon City again, or at least what's left of if after the place got nuked at the end of Resident Evil 2. It was impossible to tell what's going on with the plot, but the trailer focused on new character Grace Ashcroft, a 'technical analyst' at the FBI whose mother seems to be Alyssa Ashcroft. If that doesn't ring a bell then don't worry, as she was only ever in the two Resident Evil Outbreak games – online co-op titles from the PlayStation 2 era, that weren't particularly successful (the first one wasn't even online in Europe). The trailer refers to Alyssa being killed in a hotel eight years earlier, which was not a part of Outbreak's story. As the trailer begins, Grace is writing a report on an 'unidentified disease' that has claimed a fourth victim, with Alyssa presumably being the fifth. It's hard to draw anything too conclusive from the rest of the trailer, but there's a new monster dropping down from the ceiling in one shot, a possible shot of a zombie at the end, and what looks like the Raincoat Killer from Deadly Premonition at one point. There's also a guy with an obviously evil voice, who could be Albert Wesker, who's describing someone – possibly Grace – as the 'chosen one'. Previous rumours have suggested that Leon S. Kennedy and/or Jill Valentine are the main playable characters in Requiem but there was no sign of that in the teaser. Rumours have also claimed the game will be open world but the trailer didn't even hint at that, although it didn't rule it out either. No doubt all that will be the subject of the next trailer, which is presumably coming relatively soon, given the game is due out in a little over eight months. There's a small possibility it could be at the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday but that's unlikely, as it wasn't at the State of Play on Wednesday and Capcom probably don't want to play favourites. Ex-police chief convicted of rape and murder captured after escaping Arkansas prison
Grant Hardin, a former Arkansas police chief convicted of rape and murder, was captured Friday after he escaped from prison on May 25. Hardin, 56, was taken into custody roughly 1.5 miles west of prison grounds, the Izard County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. His identity was confirmed by fingerprint analysis, the statement said. Additional details about his apprehension were not immediately available. Hardin walked out of the North Central Unit just before 3 p.m. May 25 after he disguised himself in a "makeshift" law enforcement uniform. An affidavit stated that he "impersonated a corrections officer in dress and manner, causing a corrections officer operating a secure gate to open the gate." Authorities released a photo showing him dressed in all black and pushing a wheeled cart with what appeared to be wooden pallets on it. Multiple agencies, including state police, assisted in the search. The FBI, Department of Corrections, Arkansas State Police, and Department of Justice said there was a reward of up to $10,000 for information that led to his arrest. Hardin, who has a background in law enforcement, was in prison for killing Gateway city water employee James Appleton in 2017 and raping teacher Amy Harrison in 1997. He was sentenced to 30 years for Appleton's murder and 50 years for the sexual assault. Both cases were featured in the 2023 Max documentary "Devil in the Ozarks." Rand Champion, a Corrections Department spokesperson, had said that Hardin's background in law enforcement made the search more difficult. Hardin was the police chief of Gateway, Arkansas, for about four months in early 2016. From August 1990 to May 1991, he worked for the Fayetteville Police Department. A department spokesperson said he was let go while still going through the training program. NBC affiliate KNWA of Fayetteville reported that he also worked as a police officer, county constable, and corrections officer.
