‘I am sorry to do this,' Johnstown man accused of robbing store
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Johnstown man is facing charges after he allegedly robbed a store by telling the clerk that 'if she cooperated then he wouldn't hurt her.'
Eli Zasadni, 48, is being charged after he allegedly robbed a store on Scalp Avenue by brandishing a knife at a clerk, according to a criminal complaint. On Feb. 1, officers from the Richland Township Police Department were contacted by the store who said that a white male had stolen money from them.

According to the affidavit, the clerk reported that the robber was around 6'1,' was wearing all black, and was seen traveling east on foot. They also reported that not much of his face was visible. The clerk added that the male said, 'I am sorry to do this,' before he pulled a knife on her and told her to give her all the money she had.
Officers obtained video footage of the incident. Two days after the incident a woman called the police department and said that she believed that Zasadni was the one who committed the robbery. She stated that they had gotten into a fight and he returned the next day with $1,700, stating that he had gotten paid for a job.
The woman told officers that she saw the Facebook post about the robbery suspect and recognized Zasadni as the man. When she questioned him, he also allegedly admitted to the theft.
Police noted in the complaint that they were able to get photos of Zasadni and found 'his physical characteristics closely resembled that of the suspect.'
Zasadni is facing felony charges of robbery threat of serious injury, receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking and misdemeanor charges of possession of a weapon and simple assault. He's in the Cambria County Prison with bail set at 10% of $100,000.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 19.

Elk County man accused of selling methamphetamine in two undercover buys
ELK COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Saint Marys man is in jail after investigators said he sold methamphetamine to an informant during two separate undercover operations in Elk County. Joshua Steven Dalton, 35, is charged with multiple felony counts, including two counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Ridgway Borough Police Department. Dalton was arrested on June 6 following an investigation led by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's North Central Drug Task Force. According to the affidavit, investigators conducted controlled buys on March 19 and April 3 in a public parking lot near 30 Erie Avenue in Saint Marys. In both cases, Dalton allegedly communicated with a confidential informant by phone, arranging to sell methamphetamine. Officers said they observed each transaction as it occurred. During the first buy on March 19, Dalton reportedly sold approximately 3.85 grams of meth to the informant for $100. On April 3, he again met the informant in the same location, this time exchanging a gold-colored Sonoma cigarette box containing methamphetamine for $125, the affidavit states. The suspected drugs were turned over to investigators and retained as evidence. Dalton is not registered under the Controlled Substance Act, according to police. In addition to the felony drug charges, Dalton is also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony criminal use of a communication facility, court records show. Dalton was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James L. Martin and is currently being held at the Elk County Prison after failing to post the $200,000 monetary bail. Wisconsin man arrested after allegedly threatening to 'murder' deputy, foot chase
MINERAL POINT, Wis. (WFRV) – A 42-year-old man was taken into custody Sunday afternoon following a series of threatening and disorderly actions that led to a brief foot chase and his arrest in a public restroom. According to the Iowa County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded around 4:10 p.m. to a report of a disturbance on Clowney Street in Mineral Point involving Matthew Rohowetz. Two suspects sentenced for their roles in 2023 North Fond du Lac shooting Authorities say Rohowetz had sent threatening and profane messages, including one stating an intent to 'murder' a member of the sheriff's office. When officers located Rohowetz, he initially refused to cooperate and fled on foot after they explained the legal consequences of violating bond conditions. A Taser was deployed but was ineffective. Rohowetz was later found hiding in the women's restroom of a High Street establishment, where he initially refused to exit but ultimately surrendered at around 4:53 p.m. Rohowetz was booked into the Iowa County Jail and is facing the following charges: Disorderly conduct (misdemeanor) Resisting an officer (misdemeanor) Battery or threat to a law enforcement officer (felony) Five counts of felony bail jumping Green Bay house fire causes $50,000 in damages, displaces one child and one adult He remains in custody awaiting a bond hearing in Iowa County Circuit Court.
