Dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire and arriving on decorated camels, the Rajasthani Rupa Ratan family is set to bring vibrancy and warmth to Gokuldham Society.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) has always captured its audience's attention with new faces, light-hearted narrative and rib-tickling comedy. Being one of the most popular and longest-running sitcoms on Indian television with more than 4,479 episodes, the makers always introduce new twists to keep the audience hooked. Now, as the show marked its 17th anniversary in July, producer Asit Kumarr Modi announced plans to add some cultural diversity to the hit show by including a brand-new family.
Now, Asit Kumarr Modi, in collaboration with the official handle of TMKOC, shared a video to introduce the Rajasthani Rupa Ratan family.
The producer introduces Ratan and Rupa Binjola, along with their children Veer and Bansari, to the society members, making it more memorable for audiences.
In the clip, he can be seen sharing in Hindi, which translates as, 'In all these years, our viewers have embraced every character of TMKOC with immense love. The Gokuldham family has evolved and we are thrilled to welcome a new Rajasthani family. This family will bring unique charm, cultural traditions and relatable stories to the show, adding new layers of humour and heart to the narrative."
Sharing the introduction clip, the makers wrote, 'A NEW chapter begins in Gokuldham! Creator & Producer of India's longest-running show,
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Mr Asit Kumarr Modi, introduces the much-awaited Rajasthani Family."
Ratan Binjola, aka Kuldeep Gor, a well-known Gujarati and television actor, will play a Jaipur-based saree shop owner. His wife, Rupa Baditop (actor Dharti Bhatt), will be seen as a homemaker and influencer. Rupa and Ratan's kids, Veer (Akshaan Sehrawat) and Bansari (Maahi Bhadra), will be entering Tapu Sena as its youngest members.
Dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire and arriving on ornately decorated camels, the family is set to bring vibrancy and warmth to Gokuldham Society in the introduction clip.
In his recent interview with Mumbai Mirror, Asit shared, 'Over time, many new members have joined the Gokuldham family, each adding their own charm and being welcomed wholeheartedly by the audience. The Gokuldham family has kept evolving and we are now delighted to welcome a new Rajasthani family, played by Dharti Bhatt and Kuldeep Gor, along with their two children — Akshaan Sehrawat and Maahi Bhadra."
Reflecting on how he selected the characters, he stated, 'For these roles, many artists auditioned. After months of careful casting, we selected this team for their dedication, sincerity and strong understanding of a family-oriented daily comedy show. I am confident they will add a unique flavour to the narrative and open up engaging new storylines."
'Just as Jethalal, Bhide, Madhavi, Babita Ji, Abdul and all the other beloved characters became a part of your everyday lives, I believe this family too will soon find a special place in your hearts," he added.

Saare Jahan Se Accha shows a human, real spy, away from the flashy style of James Bond: Pratik Gandhi

For Pratik Gandhi, his new show, Saare Jahan Se Accha is more spy drama than a thriller. "That drama is a big part because we are dealing with complex human emotions," he tells us, explaining what separates the Netflix series from the overpopulated genre of spy thrillers in vogue today. Pratik spoke to HT along with the show's creators about its unique space and approach. Pratik Gandhi plays a spy in Netflix's Saare Jahan Se Accha. Keeping it real Saare Jahan Se Accha tells the story of a RAW agent in Pakistan in the 1970s, whose mission is to prevent the nation from becoming an atomic power. Based on true events, the show gives up the swanky Bond and Pathaan-style narrative of espionage for one grounded in realism. The show's creator, Gaurav Arora, explains, "The hyper-realistic style is to show a very stylish spy with good-looking women and in exotic locations. My attempt was to keep it very real and to show their pain and pressure." What separates Saare Jahan Se Accha from other spy dramas is how it treats the 'enemy'. Its depiction of ISI agents and Pakistani Army officials as humans instead of one-dimensional characters has been noted. Sejal Shah, the producer, explains, 'The idea was not to make a spectacle but to tell a story driven by the characters. And that is what we have here, characters who have a story - and both sides have stories.' Not James Bond Pratik plays Vishnu in the show, an Indian spy embedded in Pakistan. Talking about playing an everyman spy, he says, "James Bond was my first-ever introduction to spies. I always felt that anyone who plays a spy on screen will be a very flashy, flamboyant guy, very charming. He can do anything. He is almost a superhero. That was my initial understanding in my growing-up days. But I wouldn't call this series a spy thriller. It is a spy drama. That makes it absolutely fresh for me as an actor." Saare Jahan Se Accha also stars Sunny Hinduja, Tillotama Shome, Anup Soni, Kritika Kamra, and Suhail Nayyar. The show is currently streaming on Netflix.
