Mohanlal 's iconic performance in the Drishyam franchise has received wide acclaim for all the right reasons. After two successful installments, the makers are all set to return for a third one, and the actor has now confirmed the time of release.
Surprisingly, the Hindi version of the film is also likely to be shot simultaneously, with Ajay Devgn acting as the lead.
Mohanlal returns as Georgekutty in Drishyam 3
Taking to X, Mohanlal dropped a video that starts with a clip of his role as Georgekutty from the Drishyam franchise. As it progresses, Mohanlal can be seen shaking hands with director Jeethu Joseph and producer Anthony Perumbavoor, signalling that they are joining forces once more.
Sharing the video, he wrote 'October 2025 — the camera turns back to Georgekutty. The past never stays silent. #Drishyam3.'
Ajay Devgn to also begin shooting for Drishyam 3 in Hindi
As per an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, Ajay Devgn who led the Hindi version of the Drishyam film franchise, is set to begin shooting from October 2, 2025.
The source stated, 'The Gandhi Jayanti date holds a lot of significance for the Drishyam franchise, and hence they are embarking on the journey for the final Drishyam film from October 2, 2025. It's a marathon schedule, spanning 3 months at real locations of Maharashtra, as also the studio set up. Ajay Devgn has already allotted his dates for the film.'
It seems the two films are likely to be shot simultaneously and it would be interesting to witness how both shape up with time.
When Mohanlal spilled the beans on Drishyam 3
Previously, in an interview with Pinkvilla Masterclass, Mohanlal opened up about how Drishyam 3 will pan out and dropped hints on what's in store for audiences to witness on-screen.
He remarked that making another sequel to an already successful film franchise is difficult since people have a lot of expectations. However, with Drishyam 3, the actor assured that the makers and directors were trying their best to bring something new to the table.

Kuberaa Box Office Collection Day 2: In merely two days of its release, Kuberaa, starring Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna and Nagarjuna Akkineni, has surpassed the ₹ 30-crore mark at the Indian Box Office on Saturday. The movie, which hit the big screens on Friday, June 20, has been released in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil. Kuberaa faces key competition from Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, which was also released on June 20. Sitaare Zameen Par has earned ₹ 32.40 crore in two days. According to industry tracker Sacknilk, Kuberaa has hit a dream run as it minted ₹ 30.75 crore in two days of its release. The movie, which opened with ₹ 14.75 crore in its kitty, minted ₹ 17.61 crore on Saturday. Of its Day 2 earnings, Kuberaa earned ₹ 12.77 crore in Telugu and ₹ 4.5 crore in Tamil. The movie minted ₹ 34,00,000 in Hindi. Kuberaa is expected to maintain its golden run at the box office on Sunday and complete its opening weekend with a collection nearing ₹ 50 crore. Kuberaa saw an overall 66.19% Telugu occupancy on Saturday, with regions like Delhi NCR, Mahbubnagar, Hyderabad, and Chennai reporting the highest occupancy. In Tamil, the movie witnessed an overall occupancy of 35.89%. Delhi NCR, Chennai, and Trichy lead Tamil occupancy. Kuberaa's Hindi occupancy stood at 10.87%, with Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Jaipur reporting the highest occupancy. According to Sacnilk, Kuberaa collected ₹ 27.5 crore worldwide until Saturday, including ₹ 32.36 crore (India net) and ₹ 10.15 crore from overseas. The movie's gross India earnings stood at ₹ 17.35 crore. However, in an X post, the makers of Kuberaa claimed that the movie did a business of ₹ 30 crore gross worldwide on Day 1. ' ₹ 30 Cr+ Day 1 worldwide gross (estimated). This is just the beginning of a rage that's set to ignite the box office in the days to come,' the post read. Directed by Sekhar Kammula of 'Fidaa' fame, Kuberaa features a runtime of 182 minutes. This social-themed movie depicts an intense storyline and is packed with powerhouse performances. Kuberaa stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil in key roles.

The actor shared the exciting news on Saturday through a video posted on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). In the video, Mohanlal appears as George Kutty, the role that made the Drishyam franchise a major hit. He is seen greeting the team, while text on the screen reads: "Coming soon. Lights. Camera. October." Along with the video, Mohalal wrote a caption that read, "October 2025 - the camera turns back to Georgekutty. The past never stays silent."
