Global Food Security Monitor: Famine scenario actually ufolds in Gaza
The Global Food Security Monitor warned on Tuesday that the worst-case scenario of a famine is actually unfolding in the Gaza Strip, where most of the population is suffering from a severe food shortage, reaching famine levels in many areas within the besieged enclave by the Israeli enemy army.
The Monitor explained in a statement that airdrops of humanitarian aid are "insufficient" to halt the rapid deterioration in living conditions, stressing that delivering aid by land remains the "most effective, safest, and fastest" way to save civilian lives.
The statement indicated that the population in Gaza is living under the burden of severe food shortages, a lack of basic medical care, and a near-total collapse of humanitarian services, exacerbating the crisis by the day.
The Monitor called on the international community to exert immediate pressure to open the crossings and facilitate the entry of food and medical aid without delay, considering that the continued closure of the crossings constitutes a fatal obstacle to relief efforts.
The Observatory confirmed that food security indicators in the Gaza Strip now portend a complete collapse.
The Observatory concluded its statement by emphasizing that "the humanitarian response cannot succeed unless immediate and unconditional access to essential supplies is permitted."
Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been facing an unprecedented wave of hunger since Israel closed the Strip's crossings in early March and imposed severe restrictions on the entry of food, relief aid, fuel, and medicine.
Over time, Gaza's residents have exhausted all food supplies, shops have become empty, and finding a loaf of bread has become almost impossible. Meanwhile, available goods are experiencing skyrocketing prices, to the point that "death by starvation" has become one of the most severe causes of death in the Strip.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 60,034 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 145,870 others.
To date, this is a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still buried under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue crews.

Miftah also noted that Milhan's experience deserves to be replicated across other districts and governorates, especially amid growing efforts to promote cooperative work nationwide. He pointed out that the social environment in Milhan—with its awareness, engagement, and institutions—formed a solid foundation for the project's success. 'What we witness today confirms that Yemeni society remains vibrant and proactive, capable of overcoming challenges when empowered and motivated,' he stated, calling for the expansion of such initiatives into essential sectors like education, healthcare, and road development. He further noted that the rugged terrain of the area requires even greater efforts to facilitate transportation and serve residents. Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development, Mohammed Al-Madani, said the Milhan project marked a qualitative leap in community initiatives, with local residents taking the lead in planning and implementation, while official institutions played a supportive and facilitating role. He stressed that this model highlights the need to activate the cooperative sector as a third pillar of development alongside the public and private sectors, opening new horizons for grassroots development. 'We are not celebrating what the government has provided today, but rather what this great community has accomplished as a shining example of solidarity and collective action,' he said. In addition to the reconstruction project, Maher stated that work was carried out at 96 sites facing flood threats, with risks eliminated at 44 locations through community initiatives supported by the foundation, local authorities, and the Milhan Cooperative Association. He added that coordination between the foundation, local authorities, the cooperative association, and residents played a major role in the successful completion of the project, achieving a tangible impact on both services and the social fabric. Milhan District Director Ghamdan Al-Azki confirmed that the project restored stability to dozens of families who had lost their homes due to flooding. He affirmed the district's commitment to supporting community initiatives across various sectors, leveraging the cooperative spirit fostered by this exemplary experience. Meanwhile, Hassan Soud, Secretary-General of the Milhan Cooperative Association, said the association worked from the beginning to mobilize and organize community efforts, creating an effective cooperative environment that contributed significantly to the project's success. UAE conducts 62nd airdrop as part of 'Birds of Goodness' in Gaza
The United Arab Emirates is continuing its humanitarian mission in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, carrying out the 62nd airdrop of aid under the 'Birds of Goodness' initiative, part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. The operation is conducted in collaboration with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with the participation of France, Germany, Belgium and Canada. These operations aim to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to areas inaccessible by land due to the prevailing security situation. The airdrop included a range of essential food items and emergency relief supplies. With today's mission, the total volume of aid delivered by air has now surpassed 3,829 tonnes, directed towards supporting the most affected and vulnerable communities in Gaza. Civil Defense in Gaza Carries Out 26 Missions in 24 Hours
Gaza - Saba: The General Directorate of Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday that its crews had carried out 26 missions in the 24 hours between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. These included three rescue missions, 21 ambulance missions, and two other missions, with no firefighting missions recorded, amid the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. In a report received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Civil Defense explained that in the northern governorate, they transported a fainting case in the Al-Karama area to the Sheikh Radwan Clinic, and transported an injured person from Al-Bahr Street, near Al-Khalidi Mosque, to Al-Shifa Hospital. In Gaza Governorate, they worked to recover five martyrs and two injured people from a home for the Al-Dahdouh family targeted by the occupation forces in the Zeitoun neighborhood. They also rescued injured people from a home for the Al-Baba family targeted by the occupation forces near the Islamic Complex in the Sabra area. They also transported an injured Civil Defense member who fell from a height in his home in the Shati refugee camp to Al-Shifa Hospital. Four injured people were transported from the Shati Shati and Sheikh Radwan areas to Al-Shifa Hospital. In the Central Governorate, they transported a patient from his home in the Nuseirat refugee camp to Al-Awda Hospital. In Khan Yunis Governorate, they transported a patient from the Industrial Area to Nasser Hospital for treatment. In Rafah Governorate, they transported an injured person from a quadcopter in the ETA area to Nasser Hospital, and another patient from his home to the British Hospital.
