Sonali Bendre reveals she shot with Aamir Khan for 10 days in real rain for Sarfarosh's 'Jo Haal Dil Ka' song: 'We were rubbing Brandy on our feet because...'
Sonali Bendre reminisces about filming 'Sarfarosh,' highlighting the challenges of shooting 'Jo Haal Dil Ka' in freezing temperatures and real rain. She reveals a fun detail about Aamir Khan's wardrobe, where his shirts subtly matched her outfits throughout the film. The team endured ten days of continuous rain in Panhala, resorting to brandy rubs to combat the intense cold. More than two decades after its release, Sarfarosh remains a cult favourite — not just for its gripping storyline but also for its memorable music and performances. Recently, actress Sonali Bendre took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, recounting what went into filming the soulful track Jo Haal Dil Ka alongside Aamir Khan — including battling freezing temperatures, real rain, and some unexpected hacks to stay warm on set. While reflecting on a photo with Aamir from the sets of Sarfarosh, Sonali recalled, in a chat with Bollywood Bubble, how her wardrobe choices subtly influenced Aamir's looks in the film. She credited designer Ashlee, who along with director John and cinematographer Matthew, carefully planned the visuals. Given the film's intense and serious tone, Sonali considered herself the comic relief, often joking about it during the shoot. As a fun detail, she mentioned that Aamir would wear shirts matching the color of her outfits throughout the film. Sonali Bendre reflected on the memorable colour coordination in one of Sarfarosh's songs, calling it a visually striking sequence with beautiful beats composed by Raju. The team shot the song across the scenic mountains of Panhala, enduring ten days of continuous real rain. South Newsmakers of the Week: Akhil Akkineni and Zainab Ravdjee's wedding date, Kamal Haasan's Kannada row and more
The South cinema industry saw several buzzing updates this week, with multiple announcements making waves. As we head into the weekend, here are a few highlights that stood out most to the audience. 1. Akhil Akkineni and Zainab Ravdjee's wedding date Akhil Akkineni and his fiancée, Zainab Ravdjee, are all set to tie the knot after making their relationship official in November 2024. The wedding is reportedly scheduled for June 6, 2025. According to multiple reports, the Lenin actor will get married in a grand ceremony at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad—the same venue where his brother Naga Chaitanya's wedding with Sobhita Dhulipala took place. There is also speculation about an additional celebration being planned in Rajasthan. Recently, Akhil's parents, veteran actors Nagarjuna Akkineni and Amala Akkineni, officially invited Telangana CM Revanth Reddy to the wedding. 2. Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel's NTRNeel to step away from Dragon title In an exclusive update from Pinkvilla, it was reported that Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel's upcoming film, tentatively titled NTRNeel, may drop the potential title Dragon. A source revealed, 'The issue arises because Dragon is already a registered title for a Tamil film releasing in 2025, which prevents the production team from officially locking it. Additionally, the Tamil Dragon was dubbed in Telugu, raising concerns over legal complications and possible fan confusion in the Telugu-speaking market.' While Dragon remains a working title for now, the makers are expected to announce the final title soon. 3. Kamal Haasan's Kannada language row Kamal Haasan recently made headlines after commenting that the Kannada language was born out of Tamil during the Thug Life audio launch event. His remarks sparked debate among netizens, leading the Karnataka Film Chamber to demand a ban on his films unless he issues an apology. However, the veteran actor has refrained from apologizing, stating he will only do so if he believes he has done something wrong.

Filmmakers stand as voices for the oppressed: Badiger Devendra
After Rudri and IN, director Badiger Devendra returns with his third film, Vanya, inspired by a 2010 magazine article. 'Vanya tells the story of a father and daughter who fight against all odds to protect the forest from the timber mafia and corrupt politicians,' Devendra explains. 'The film stars National Award-winner Vaijanath Biradar as the father and Meghana Belawadi as the daughter. At its core, the film addresses the theme of oppression. If you've seen the 1997 Kannada film Bhoomigeetha, it explores the struggles of Adivasis. Dweepa, directed by Kasaravalli Sir, also tackled similar issues. Filmmakers have long stood with the oppressed, and in Vanya, we delve into what happens when people already facing injustice are forcibly evicted from their homes. ' 'Another highlight is the sync sound. The film will have a festival run for the next six months, followed by a release in December,' he added. 'We need to acknowledge that we are not delivering good films, today' Commenting on the current state of the industry, including the decline in footfalls in theatres, Badiger said, 'Kannada audiences watch good films anywhere and everywhere. We must first acknowledge that we are not delivering good films. We need to sit down and discuss how to make better films, but that acknowledgement should come first. If we offer good films, why would our audience reject them?' The film explores the contrast between life in a city and life in a forest dwelling. It also delves into the themese of belonging, the power of money, and so much more Devendra Check out our list of the latest Hindi , English , Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam , and Kannada movies .
