Lisa faces lip-sync claims at Oscars, fans suspect LVMH influence
BLACKPINK's Lisa stunned audiences at the 97th Academy Awards with her highly anticipated performance, but it quickly became the subject of controversy. As part of a James Bond tribute, she performed Live and Let Die, yet some viewers questioned whether she was singing live.
Social media erupted with debates, with some critics accusing Lisa of lip-syncing. Tweets and circulated, suggesting her microphone was inactive at times, fueling speculation.
This is how she sounds live, she is not a singer and she did lipsync again so as not to be embarrassed like that time. Lisa has to stop pretending to be a singer, it's worse because she is more and more exposed

Well her boyfriend Fredrick Arnaul (the ceo of LVMH) was one of the main sponsors of the oscars so we there you go that's why the rich white man's girlfriend was on stage lip syncing — nika (@itsallbora) March 3, 2025
yeah lisa's billionaire boyfriend paid for this performance cause what is the point.. — sine (@sinelggl) March 3, 2025
However, Lisa's fans were quick to defend her, sharing audience-recorded clips that appeared to confirm she was performing live. Many noted that award show performances are often pre-recorded or enhanced for broadcast, which may have led to confusion about her vocals.
are they admitting that lisa is such a global star that even the Oscars had to reconsider their principles of no-lipsync policy just for her?
she sounded too good that they had to accuse her of lipsyncing to cope with it. — aries🍋ᴷᴵᴷᴵ (@ilisayou_m) March 3, 2025

I know your community always manipulated y'all to believe Lisa is lip sync. She's always Mic on, many fancam proved it. This time if you still saying she's lip sync, I think you need medical check. Or please continue appointment with your psychiatrist. https://t.co/NZz0NXp1hw — I🎀 (@BeCozOfKhun) March 3, 2025
Beyond the lip-sync debate, Lisa's Oscars appearance faced additional scrutiny. Some critics questioned why she was invited to perform when nominees for Best Original Song were not. Others speculated that her inclusion was linked to her boyfriend, Frédéric Arnault, the CEO of LVMH Watches, whose company sponsors the Academy Awards. Lisa, who has partnerships with luxury brands under LVMH, has not commented on the claims.
Despite the controversy, Lisa's Oscars performance marked a milestone for K-pop's global influence, and she received widespread praise for her stage presence. The discussion continues to divide opinions online, with supporters celebrating her achievement and detractors questioning her role at the prestigious event.

Wicked 2 trailer released: Find out when the sequel to Ariana Grande's hit comes out
The first full-length trailer for Wicked: For Good, the highly awaited sequel to Wicked, has been released, offering fans a glimpse into the story's darker direction. Returning to their iconic roles, Cynthia Erivo portrays Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, while Ariana Grande stars as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. The trailer opens with Glinda standing on a balcony, gazing out at a mob of angry citizens carrying flaming torches in search of Elphaba. The dramatic conclusion shows Elphaba saying, "I'm off to see the Wizard" before flying off into the distance on her broom. The story picks up where the first film left off, delving into the aftermath of Elphaba and Glinda's decision to part ways. Elphaba is now branded an enemy of the state of Oz, while Glinda finds herself as a public figure controlled by the Wizard. Director Jon M. Chu, who helms the sequel, shared insights into the story's emotional trajectory: 'Our heart was broken when Glinda can't make the choice that we want her to so badly at the end of movie one, and it feels empowering for Elphaba to fly away from society. In movie two, we get to see the consequences of those choices. The temperature is up.' As with the first film, Wicked: For Good will feature new music, with two brand-new songs integrated into the sequel's plot. Chu revealed that the songs are essential to the story, helping to drive the narrative forward. The film will also see the return of Erivo and Grande's on-screen chemistry, which captivated fans during the first movie's promotional tour. The pair even opened the 2025 Academy Awards with a Wicked medley. They will be joined by co-stars Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, and Jeff Goldblum, who reprises his role as the Wizard. The sequel, which was shot alongside the first movie in Elstree Studios, is set to be released on 21 November. Fans can expect a darker, more intense chapter in the Wicked saga, with the stakes raised and the bond between Elphaba and Glinda put to the ultimate test.

BLACKPINK's Lisa to star in upcoming documentary
K-pop star Lisa, popularly recognised as a member of BLACKPINK, is exploring a new venture after her music career and acting credit in The White Lotus. As per Variety, it was announced on Thursday that the Money singer will be the subject of a documentary film from Sony Music Vision and director Sue Kim. Kim discussed her document at the Sony event, along with Baz Luhrmann and Frank Marshall, who also shared updates on their features. Kim, who was an executive producer on Apple TV+'s docuseries K-Pop Idols, said that she's been working with Lisa for a year, though no release date has been finalised. A trailer for the film was unveiled during the presentation, showing concert footage of the star performing solo and personal moments with her loved ones. Kim mentioned that after the two met up for the first time, Lisa reached out to her non-celebrity friends, asking them to appear in the documentary. "This has been such an incredible year, and I'm so lucky to have the opportunity to capture these special moments on film and share the experience with my fans," Lisa said in a statement. "Working with Sue Kim has been such a joy. We've been all around the world together and I know this is just the beginning of many more exciting things to come." The director also expressed enthusiasm in her own statement. "Following Lisa on this transformative and thrilling year has been a true honor and a cinematic gift," Kim said. "There have been so many moments on her journey that I think will surprise people and give a glimpse into her world that no one's ever seen before. I'm excited for viewers to watch the film and witness this extraordinary moment in her life." The news of the documentary comes after the release of Lisa's debut solo album, Alter Ego. Following BLACKPINK's hiatus, all four members branched out in pursuit of solo careers. The group is all set to reunite this year for a world tour. The Asia leg of their World Tour: Deadline kicks off in October, beginning with two nights at the Kaohsiung National Stadium. This will be followed by shows in Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila, and Singapore. After a two-month break, the quartet will fly to Hong Kong to close out the tour in January. Deadline will mark BLACKPINK's return to the stage as a unit after the tour for their album Born Pink in 2023. It made history as the highest-grossing tour by a girl group, recording 1.8 million fans worldwide.

Dior shows Maria Grazia Chiuri's cruise collection in Rome
PARIS: French fashion house Dior showed creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri's cruise 2026 and fall-winter haute couture 2026 collections at a fashion show in the gardens of the Villa Albani Torlonia in Rome on Tuesday at night. Guests sat under transparent umbrellas as models marched past on a gravel walkway lined with hedges. They paraded sheer gowns covered with lacework, textured dresses with rows of ruffles and long, tailored coats - mostly in white, ivory and nude colors. A sharp-shouldered trench coat, military jackets and tailcoats over skirts brought contrast to the airy looks, as did a few dresses in red or black velvet. Billie Eilish takes top prize at American Music Awards After the show, Chiuri rounded the gardens for her bow as the audience stood, cheering and clapping, while mist rose from the gardens. The catwalk presentation, which drew on references to Italian cinema and theatre, follows last week's cruise fashion show from Louis Vuitton, another LVMH-owned label, in Avignon, France. The shows come as the luxury industry grapples with a prolonged slump in business, and a number of high-end fashion labels are seeking new creative direction to reignite interest from shoppers.
