Huge update as EastEnders character charged with murder in early iPlayer release
This article contains spoilers for tonight's episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7.30pm or can be streamed now on iPlayer.
Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) has revealed that charges have been made following the murder of Shireen Bashar.
Earlier this month, police arrested the Mitchells' associate Benji (Carl Prekopp) for the girl's death.
However, they had serious questions for Mitchell matriarch Nicola (Laura Doddington) – why was bracelet was found on the body, and why was Benji handed £20k in the hours before being caught?
Her eldest son Harry (Elijah Holloway), Shireen's former partner, suspected that something more sinister was afoot, and later threatened to kill his mother.
After Teddy defused the situation, Nicola to her husband that Benji had helped to dispose of Shireen, though she was the one who had accidentally killed her during a row.
Since then, Harry has spiralled.
He's hit drink and drugs, left the family home, and become more estranged from his parents every day. There seems to be little chance of a breakthrough, and it'll take a lot for him to forgive them for keeping quiet.
This is despite the desperate interventions from Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and Gina Knight (Francesca Henry), who have urged Harry to make amends.

Danielle Stafford, 31, splashed out on tens of thousands of pounds on glitzy watches and Louis Vuitton bags. A drug dealer who splashed out on a luxury life has been ordered to pay back just £96,000 after her operation was unravelled by pure chance. Danielle Stafford, 31, formerly of Hallgate, Cottingham, was jailed for seven-and-a-half years in April 2023. She admitted to three offences of being concerned in supplying heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis, and another of possessing cash as criminal property, on dates spanning October 2017 to May 2020. She was sent down at Hull Crown Court. The court heard how Stafford, a University of Hull graduate and former engineer, had splashed out on nine watches and three Louis Vuitton handbags. The case was heard again at the same court recently, where prosecutors determined how much money Stafford made from her criminal activities. Prosecutor Nadim Bashir said a criminal benefit figure had been agreed at £96,263. Stafford has been ordered to repay the funds within three months. If she fails to do so, she will face more jail time. Stafford was snared by cops after she was clocked speeding in 2020. The motor was stopped by police, where she "immediately lied", telling cops: "Ill be honest, I've got this" and went on to hand a small silver wrap containing two buds of cannabis skunk. Police went on to find cannabis on her, including a food bag containing cannabis skunk and, from a pocket, another food bag containing cannabis skunk. While on the way to the police station, Stafford was seen "fidgeting" with her jogging bottoms and was asked if she had more drugs hidden. She then pulled out a bag containing a large amount of small bags of cocaine. Police said there were 56 wraps, valued at £2,800. When police searched her property in Cottingham, they found cocaine valued at £13,500 and an estimated £4,100 of heroin in a jar. Stafford denied knowledge of them. An estimated £2,500 of herbal cannabis was found in an empty banana box and bank notes totalling £670 as well as £2,350 and £1,480 in cash. More cash, valued at £7,580 was found in a safe, but she denied it was hers. Mr Bashir said Stafford was an "enthusiastic" cannabis dealer and had become a cocaine dealer. The amount, type and value of drugs found at her home were substantial. The drugs alone were street valued at £33,600. This is sustained drug dealing."

But here's where it gets a bit sticky, as the 'plan' comes after the source claimed the Sussexes feared passports for their children were being held up due to the use of their royal titles. The duchess's representatives denied that the couple used them, but a source later said that the Sussexes did not use HRH publicly but retained the style, and did not use it for commercial purposes.

The family shared a magical trip to Disneyland for Princess Lilbet's celebrations. Meghan Markle has shared a heartfelt video of the Sussex family as they celebrated Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday at Disneyland Florida. The Duchess of Sussex's Instagram showed the family enjoying rides at the California attraction, which has drawn heart-wrenching parallels with Harry's childhood trip to Florida's Walt Disney World with Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1993. The video shows an adorable clip of Archie, six, and Lili meeting Princess Elsa, from the Disney film Frozen. Meghan sported a Minnie Mouse hat in some of the snaps featured in the post, while another image shows a two-tier Little Mermaid-themed birthday cake for Lili. Meghan stated in the video's caption: 'Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!'
