It was launched on Sunday on a pilot basis from ward number 82 in Sudama Nagar area.
The project involves the installation of special digital plates with unique QR codes outside every house in the city, the officials said on Sunday.
Indore, Jun 30 (PTI) The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) in Madhya Pradesh has launched a digital house address project, with officials claiming it to be the first such initiative in the country.
The project aims to empower 'smart' administration by connecting citizen services with digital technology, an official said.
'We have linked our digital address project with the Digipin (Digital Postal Index Number) system of the central government. Indore is the first city in the country to do so,' Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava said.
He said special digital plates with a unique QR code will be installed outside every house in the city.
'By scanning this QR code with a mobile phone, the GPS-based digital address of the house can be known. Local taxes like property tax and water tax can be paid and complaints regarding civic amenities can also be lodged,' the mayor said.
Necessary changes will be made in the digital address project based on the people's suggestions, he added. PTI HWP MAS NSK GK

The TopBrand 2025 'Top 500 Global Brands list' has been released, with Microsoft ranking first.

SHENZHEN, China, Aug. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The 19th China Brand Festival has been successfully held in Shenzhen from August 7–11, 2025. This year's theme is "AI and Global Expansion." A total of 10,000 guests have been gathered in the city of innovation to participate in parallel forums, the Brand Expo, the Entrepreneurs' Sports Games, Brand Leaders Face-to-Face sessions, and other events. More than 2,000 people attended the opening ceremony. During the event, the TopBrand Union released the TopBrand 2025 "Top 500 Global Brands list", now in its fourth year. Microsoft ranked first with a brand value of USD 1,062.505 billion, followed by NVIDIA in second place with USD 1,046.760 billion, and Apple in third with USD 997.685 billion. Amazon, Alphabet (Google), Saudi Aramco, Walmart, Meta (Facebook), Berkshire Hathaway, and Broadcom ranked fourth to tenth, respectively. PetroChina ranked 14th, making it the highest-valued Chinese brand. Dr. Wang Yong, Chairman of TopBrand Union and President of the China Brand Festival, noted that in the recently released "Fortune 2025 Global 500 list", China had 130 companies on the list, just eight fewer than the United States. However, in this TopBrand 2025 "Top 500 Global Brands" ranking, the number of Chinese companies is less than half that of the United States. This shows there is still a significant gap between the brand influence of Chinese companies and their economic strength, and much work remains to be done. Govt implements ₹3,000 FASTag pass for private vehicles

New Delhi, Aug 15 (PTI) State-owned NHAI has implemented the FASTag annual pass across the country from Friday to encourage the use of technology to enhance 'ease of living' for the citizens, according to an official statement. The statement said the annual pass has received an overwhelming response from the national highway users. "Till 4:30 PM on the first day of the implementation, around 1.2 lakh users purchased and activated the annual pass and about 1.24 lakh transactions were recorded on toll plazas," it added. The statement said that providing a seamless and economical travel option to national highway users, the FASTag Annual Pass eliminates the need to frequently recharge FASTag through a one-time fee payment of ₹ 3,000 for one year's validity or 200 toll plaza crossings on National Highways and Expressways across the country. The annual pass is applicable to all non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag and gets activated within two hours of the one-time fee payment through the Rajmargyatra App or NHAI website. With a penetration rate of around 98 per cent and over 8 crore users, FASTag has revolutionised the Electronic Toll Collection system in the country, the statement said.
