Evans scored the first nine points of the second quarter to give the Aces the lead for good and finished with 14 points. Jackie Young added 14 points for Las Vegas (12-11), which plays its next four on the road. NaLyssa Smith had 11 points.
Allisha Gray led the Dream (13-10) with 24 points and eight rebounds. Jordan Canada added 12 points. Atlanta is without All-Star and leading scorer Rhyne Howard due to a knee injury. She missed the last two games before the All-Star break and will miss at least four more.
A 3-pointer by Te-Hina Paopao had the Dream within 68-62 with 7:48 to play, but the Aces had a seven-point run to get the lead back to 13 points and Atlanta never threatened again.
The Dream led 27-20 after one quarter behind Gray's 12 points and a closing 15-3 run. Atlanta was 7 of 15 overall, but 5 of 8 behind the arc and were plus-8 from the foul line. The Dream were 4 of 19 from distance over the last three quarters and shot 38.5% overall.
Evans put the Aces up 29-27 with her second quarter run and had 11 in the quarter when Vegas had a 25-12 advantage to lead 45-39 at the half.
The Aces got the lead to 14 in the middle of the third quarter before the Dream cut the deficit to 67-59 entering the fourth.

Yankees overhaul bullpen at busy trade deadline with deals for Bednar, Doval and Bird
PITTSBURGH — Fortifying their bullpen for the stretch run, the New York Yankees acquired All-Star relievers David Bednar and Camilo Doval in separate deals as they made a flurry of moves Thursday just ahead of baseball's trade deadline. The Yankees also added reliever Jake Bird from Colorado and speedy utilityman José Caballero from Tampa Bay — right in the middle of their game against the Rays. New York sent reserve infielder Oswald Peraza to the Los Angeles Angels. 'We tried to improve every aspect of the club and this is what we have to show for those efforts,' general manager Brian Cashman said. 'Certainly knocked on many doors regarding starting pitching and obviously weren't able to match up in that category.' New York shipped three minor league prospects to last-place Pittsburgh in exchange for Bednar: catcher and first baseman Rafael Flores, catcher Edgleen Perez and outfielder Brian Sanchez. A two-time All-Star closer, the 30-year-old Bednar is under club control through the 2026 season. 'Excited,' manager Aaron Boone said. 'I've been pounding the table for a while with the group for him. ... It's dominant stuff.' New York also landed Doval from San Francisco for four minor leaguers: catcher Jesús Rodríguez, right-hander Trystan Vrieling, infielder Parks Harber and left-hander Carlos de la Rosa. Doval, an All-Star closer with the Giants in 2023, is 4-2 with a 3.09 ERA and 15 saves this year. The right-hander is under club control through the 2027 season. 'There is certainly benefits to control, no doubt about that, but more than anything it's about the quality of the player we had interest in and the ability to match up,' Cashman said. Tampa Bay removed Caballero from Thursday's rain-interrupted game at Yankee Stadium and sent him to New York for Triple-A outfielder Everson Pereira and a player to be named or cash. Pereira played 27 major league games for the Yankees in 2023. The 28-year-old Caballero has 34 stolen bases this season, which was tied for most in the majors. He's batting .226 with two homers and 27 RBIs in 86 games and has started at shortstop, second base, third base and all three outfield positions. Before those deals were announced, the Yankees finalized a trade to obtain Bird from the Rockies for two minor leaguers: infielder Roc Riggio and left-hander Ben Shields. Bird, a right-hander, is 4-1 with a 4.73 ERA in 45 appearances this year. 'I know we got three high-quality arms to add to our 'pen and I feel we have some real depth down there,' Boone said. Mets star Francisco Lindor says Juan Soto was snubbed from the All-Star game: 'He deserved it'
The New York Mets sent four players to Atlanta for the All-Star game a couple of weeks ago, but star shortstop Francisco Lindor said there should have been one more player that went with them. Lindor, 31, said his star teammate Juan Soto should have joined the Mets contingent in Atlanta. "I hope we can get players like him to every All-Star game," Lindor told Fox News Digital last week after talking about Miracle Treat Day at DQ. "I wish he was there with us. He deserved it. He definitely should have been there." Soto began the year slow but really turned it on heading into the All-Star break. In 106 games this season, Soto has a .248 batting average with 25 home runs, 62 RBIs and 15 stolen bases. Lindor said that Soto was not the only player who was snubbed from the game. "It wasn't just him can anyone say a lot of players around the league that didn't get the recognition they deserve," Lindor said. "Juan Soto (is) one of the best hitters in the league, and he is going to end up with the numbers he wants (at the end of the season) and will probably end up with a silver slugger, and we will see what else, but it would have been cool to see him in Atlanta." In addition to Lindor, first baseman Pete Alonso, closer Edwin Diaz and starting pitcher David Peterson were the Mets players who were named to the National League All-Star game. With the All-Star game in the review mirror, the Mets are now focused on their division race with the Philadelphia Phillies. The Mets (62-47) currently hold a half-game lead over the Phillies (61-47) for first place in the NL East. Lindor said the Mets have to try and find the "best version" of themselves down the stretch as they vie for a postseason spot. "We just got to continue to be ourselves and continue to play the game the right way and push for each other and support each other to try to be the best version of ourselves," Lindor said.
