A Netflix film based on a real-life murder rocks to the top of charts as impressed viewers gushed 'bravo to everyone involved!'
Spanish crime drama film A Widow's Game, directed by Carlos Sedes, hit the streaming service last month.
Netflix's synopsis reads: 'When a man is found dead, the investigation shatters his widow's perfect facade and exposes a hidden double life in this thriller based on real events.'
The movie is also based on the true story of the murder of Antionio Navaarro Cerdán, 6, back in 2017, leaving his nurse wife María Jesús Moreno Cantó, also known as Maje, behind - who was also having secret affairs behind his back.
And real life footage from the case is used in A Widow's Game.
Engineer Antionio was stabbed in a garage in the district of Patraix in Valencia.

It was later revealed that Maje had joined forces with a janitor at her hospital called Salvador Rodrigo Lapiedra to carry out the crime - who she was having an affair with.
A Widow's Game stars Ivana Baquero as Maje, Tristran Ulloa as Salva Rodrigo, Carmen Machi as Eva, Joel Sánchez as Daniel as Álex Gadea as Antonio.
They are joined by Pablo Molinero, Pepe Ocio, Ramón Ródenas, Amparo Fernández and Miquel Mars.
And many have rushed to IMDB to share their positive thoughts on the movie.
'The film offers a powerful true crime thriller that captivates you as we learn about the brutality of the events and the underlying story of its two main perpetrators.
'The film is further enhanced by the excellent script and the decision to tell us from the perspective of its three protagonists, concluding with the unfolding of the events that saddened all of Spain in 2017. '
'A gripping true crime thriller.'
'A Widow's Game was a compelling watch. As a true-crime enthusiast, I appreciated its deep dive into a real Spanish murder case I knew nothing about.
Many have rushed online to share their thoughts on the crime film - with one saying that it 'captivates you'
'The actress playing María (Ivana Baquero) delivered a strong performance, skillfully portraying a manipulative character who exploited men's weaknesses in relationships.
'The film's overall story about manipulation in love was well-told.'
'Intrigued me from the start and by the end I was engrossed.'
'I am Spaniard so I have watched this one without subtitles, what is a plus. So, If you love Spanish series like "El cuerpo en llamas", A Widow's Game is for you. The movie is amazingly real as cruel the case it is.
'First, the case is sad and at the same time makes you think about how cruel a woman can be.
'Second, cast is superb. Great acting from Tristan Ulloa and Carmen Machi. Ivana Baquero is great too. Last, the settings and production are superb. Pretty close to reality.
'Around 95% of the movie happened. Also the scenarios are real too.
'So, overall an ugly crime, but a great movie. I mean, if you love true crime, this one is for you.'
While another fan wrote: 'Loved it – didn't know anything about the story – well done, bravo to everyone involved.'
Salvador and Maje were arrested in January 2018 and later both found guilty of murder in October 2020.
Maje received a 22 year sentence, while Salvador was given 17 years, and also had to pay €250,000 to Antionio's family.
She also gave birth to a baby in prison in 2023 after falling pregnant with an inmate's baby.

Bombshell new details revealed after two young boys found dead in their grandmother's house - rocking a regional Aussie community to its core
Two young boys found dead on a country NSW property had allegedly been drugged before they were smothered, an autopsy has revealed. Max and Sam Johnson, aged six and seven, were discovered in their Coonabarabran home, in northwest NSW, on May 5. Their grandmother Kathleen Heggs, 66, was subsequently charged with their murder. Police have now revealed a post-mortem examination carried out on the two boys' bodies found traces of a prescription medication in their systems, according to the Daily Telegraph. Police will allege Ms Heggs gave her young grandsons the medications before suffocating them with a pillow. The brothers were asleep in separate bedrooms of Ms Heggs' rural property when the alleged murders took place. Max and Sam's biological parents Troy and Samantha Johnson are making final plans for their sons' funeral this week, which is to be held in Port Stephens. Ms Heggs was the sole carer for the two boys and they had moved from near Port Stephens to Coonabarabran about a year ago. Mr and Mrs Johnson had not seen the boys for five years prior to their deaths. The boys' father revealed he and his wife decided to let Ms Heggs take care of their sons as they had been struggling with mental health issues. 'This is not how we were meant to get them back,' Mr Johnson said. 'We are completely broken... but those boys deserve a good send off, and that's what we are going to give them.' Mr Johnson said he was grateful to Coonabarabran locals for sharing their happy memories of his sons. The boys will be buried in their karate uniforms, along with the yellow belts they were set to receive the week they were allegedly killed. Last month, police raced to the Coonabarabran property after Ms Heggs allegedly sent a text message to the boys' school to say her the two boys were dead and she intended to take her own life. After arriving at the farm, police forced their way into the home and found the boys' bodies in different rooms and the woman suffering self-inflicted injuries. Ms Heggs was treated in a mental health facility for several days following the boys' death before being charged with two counts of murder. Tragically, the devastated grandfather of the boys told Daily Mail Australia he only discovered that his grandsons were dead when he heard it on the news. 'I had to find out off the news about what happened to them,' he said. He also said he was upset pictures of the boys had been circulated through the media. 'The photos should never have been released - because they were minors - that was wrong and it has been very upsetting.' Ms Heggs has not entered pleas and she will front court on July 10. NSW Police have been contacted for comment.

Ballerina (2025) Ending Explained – Does Eve get her revenge?
Ballerina Plot Summary The story is pretty basic and serves its purpose, although there are some of the usual cliches thrown in for good measure. This non-stop thrill-ride centers on a woman called Eve. She's haunted by the ghosts of her past, desperate for vengeance against a man called The Chancellor for killing her father. Grief-stricken, a young Eve is recruited into the Ruska Roma organization and under the guidance of The Director, works to establish herself as a force of nature. Of course, her job and training eventually see her set her sights on The Chancellor and his cult to gain that sweet, sweet revenge. Where does Eve's fight take her? Up in the mountains, nestled in a European village called Hallstatt, Eve is forced to fight through hordes of people, all working for the same clan. 'Full protocols' are initiated, sending every single townsperson after Eve with the ringing of church bells. Things don't look good for Eve, who's quickly surrounded and held at gunpoint. The Director is not happy that Eve has disobeyed her, while Ella is captured too. Now, we learn here that she happens to be the granddaughter of The Chancellor. He put a hit out on his own son's head for trying to leave this cult. The Chancellor is the one who killed Eve's father, but it turns out Eve actually has a sister, Lena. She decides to help her when she finds out, working with Eve to keep her safe. Their father betrayed the cult but Lena sees Charon and the Director doing the same thing with the girls in their midst. Lena believes they're at least honest about their intentions and intends to remain on the side of The Chancellor. Who does The Director send to stop Eve? The Chancellor gives the order to kill both girls though, unaware that Lena is actually on his side. Lena was only 9 when she was told Eve died and she's carried this with her the whole time. Unfortunately, a stray grenade through the window takes Lena's life, severing any ties Eve may have had to her family and any chance of healing. The Chancellor is pissed and demands The Director call Eve off, declaring war on the Ruska Roma organization as a result. The Director wants to try and resolve this, deciding to send someone who can help turn Eve around. And that person? John Wick. Do John Wick and Eve work together? John Wick and Eve wind up fighting but he understands the pain she's feeling. He knows that she's after the Chancellor to avenge her father and the look in her eyes speaks volumes as he holds her at gunpoint. Wick decides to give her a chance. Specifically, until midnight (which is less than 30 minutes away) to finish the job, otherwise there will be consequences. The Chancellor uses his deadly weapon, Dex, to hunt Eve while she works her way through the armoury toward her target. Dex and Eve fight each other with flamethrowers, leading to a big skirmish through the streets. Word reaches The Chancellor that John Wick has gone AWOL and he reluctantly is forced to relocate with Ella. Eve cleverly uses a power hose to extinguish Dex's flames while this is happening, while Wick – armed with a sniper – helps Eve out and destroys Dex. He lets Eve go, with time ticking, and she eventually confronts The Chancellor, right after killing his driver on the way out. Does Eve get her revenge? In the street together, The Chancellor reiterates that despite his death, the village will continue and thus, so will the cult. He believes fate can't be changed and the only person Eve is really fighting here is herself. Well, Eve has heard enough and she shoots the guy dead dead. Pine's daughter is saved, and Wick retreats back, leaving Eve very much alive. Wick rings The Director and confirms that The Chancellor is dead, much to her annoyance, while Eve brings Ella to her father, who's recovering in hospital. Eve may not have saved her own family, but she can at least reunite this pair and heal someone else's family. Eve decides to check in to The Continental at the end of the movie, warned that despite cutting the snake's head off, the body remains and now she's a wanted woman. Eve is ready for this and drops off her symbolic ballerina under bell jar. It's a way of showing that she knows she's Wanted but is very much ready for the Ruska Romans no matter what. At the nearby theatre, Eve leaves while also learning that there's a $5 million contract on her head now, promising that things are just heating up. Read More: Ballerina Movie Review

Dangerous Animals (2025) Ending Explained – Does Zephyr manage to survive?
Dangerous Animals Plot Summary The opening of Dangerous Animals sets the scene for the film to follow. Mysterious, tense and just a tad surreally funny – Bruce Tucker runs a shark-diving expedition on his boat. Unfortunately, it all goes wrong for tourist Heather when her boyfriend is killed, fed to the sharks, while she's abducted by this maniacal serial killer. With Bruce on the hunt for new victims, he sets his sights on young survivalist Zephyr, a savvy and free-spirited surfer. When she crosses paths with Bruce, Zephyr must do everything she can to overcome this maniacal predator. Why is Bruce killing? Bruce Tucker is a disillusioned man, killing his victims by feeding them to sharks. He's a firm believer of the hierarchy within the animal world and knows that sharks associate his boat with food, hence why the sharks swim around. He targets impressionable young women – preferably tourists – and chalks their deaths up to 'accidents' at sea. Bruce films the encounters for his own amusement and gets his kicks from watching them back. He has a whole bunch of videotapes in his cupboard recording these deaths, complete with locks of hair for good measure. All of these are locked up (no pun intended) inside his cupboard where numerous other tapes are located. How long does Zephyr have to live? When Zephyr awakens after being kidnapped, she finds herself in the presence of Heather, who's still alive after the incident from the start of the movie. Zephyr shows her resourcefulness and attempts to pick her handcuff lock with the underwire from a bra but it doesn't work. Bruce drugs them both and makes a show of it, killing Heather right in front of Zephyr and filming the encounter. Bruce then decides that Zephyr has 24 hours to live before she goes swimming with the fishes. Zephyr buys herself some time by throwing Tucker's camcorder in the water. As our killer wants to film and savor the experience, he heads back to shore to get a replacement. How does Moses try to save Zephyr? Whilst docked, this gives Moses Markley time to mount a rescue mission. We met Moses earlier in the movie and Zephyr's casual hook-up turns to more when she realizes she genuinely has feelings for him. That feeling is mutual for Moses, who does his own investigation and tracks down the boat. All of this eventually converges with Moses and Zephyr captured and driven out on the boat to Hangman's Shoals, a secluded area in the nearby sea. Having understood now how sharks operate (partly thanks to Tucker's surprisingly informative monologues) Zephyr convinces Moses to stay as still as possible in the water. This works so the sharks don't attack, given they don't mistake him for a seal. Bruce takes things one step further and stabs the guy in the chest before dropping him back in the ocean again. The entire operation however is interrupted by a helicopter flying around outside, prompting Moses' torturous ordeal to be delayed. Does Zephyr manage to get away? Moses bleeds so much that he passes out, allowing Bruce some alone time with Zephyr. He likens himself to her, pointing out he can see the fight she has and likens both of them to sharks; solitary creatures that fend for themselves. Zephyr dislocates (and bites off) her thumb to break free of her handcuff when he leaves, but unfortunately Tucker tracks her down again when she tries to run away. As a result, he's ready for the final show. How does Zephyr manage to stop Bruce Tucker? In the water, Zephyr puts on one heck of a performance, managing to stave off a Great White as it circles her, preparing to strike. With Bruce hungrily filming, Zephyr manages to break free from her restraints and underwater, finds herself face to face with the shark. There's a moment between them as they stare into one another's eyes, seemingly understanding the other's ordeal. The shark decides not to strike. In fact, this shark is battered with scars and sports a nasty gash over its face, a result of Tucker's meddling earlier on. Zephyr makes it back to the boat and outsmarts Tucker, shooting him with a harpoon gun and sending him into the water. The hunter becomes the hunted, as Zephyr watches as the shark grabs Tucker and takes a big ol' chomp out of his side. The same shark that Tucker stabbed with the harpoon gun earlier on. How does Dangerous Animals end? With Tucker dead, we pan across to his camcorder where we ironically find out that his death has been filmed the whole time. In the end, Bruce becomes the final victim in his twisted mausoleum of death. Zephyr and Moses both survive their encounter, thanks to Zephyr firing off some emergency flares to prompt the nearby party boat to turn round and save them. Zephyr realizes she does have something to live for in Moses, and after professing this to him, the pair await rescue as the movie ends. Read More: Dangerous Animals Movie Review
