Major supermarket axing 3,600 jobs after closing 17 stores
The popular supermarket's workforce has plummeted from around 104,819 employees to just 101,144 as of October last year.
It comes after a year of major losses in 2023, in which the shop slashed 8,800 roles due to increasing costs.
In April, the closure of more than a dozen Morrisons shops also saw the end of dozens of cafes and other services.
Along with hundreds of jobs, the supermarket shut two cafés and 100 other in-store services like 12 florists, four pharmacies and dozens and meat and fish counters.
It's the latest in a wave of store closures that saw 13,000 shops vanish from high streets last year. It's even claimed WHSmith as a victim.

Rami Baitiéh, Chief Executive of Morrisons, previously said: 'The changes… are a necessary part of our plans to renew and reinvigorate Morrisons and enable us to focus our investment into the areas that customers really value and that can play a full part in our growth.
'Morrisons Cafés are rightly famous for their great quality well-priced food, their place in the local community and their appealing mix of traditional favourites alongside exciting new dishes. More Trending
'In most locations, the Morrisons Café has a bright future, but a minority have specific local challenges and in those locations, regrettably, closure and re-allocation of the space is the only sensible option.
'Market Street is a beacon of differentiation for Morrisons and we remain committed to it.'
British high streets are facing even more shop closures this year, with dozens of shops set to shut in August.
Up to 17,000 shops are expected to close this year alone, according to the Centre for Retail Research.

Liverpool hit £145m mark with six exits and two more could help fund Alexander Isak deal
Liverpool have been one of the Premier League's most active clubs in the transfer market this summer and still hope to complete a record-breaking swoop for Alexander Isak Liverpool have splashed some serious cash in the transfer window, but they've also recouped a big chunk of their summer spend through player sales after sanctioning Tyler Morton's move to Lyon. The Premier League champions have significantly strengthened the squad that made Arne Slot 's maiden season at the helm one to remember by capturing Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike this summer. Those deals have added up, though, with Wirtz alone arriving for a package worth a British record £116million. Further signings are expected before the transfer window shuts next month, too, with outgoings helping to fund them. The Echo outlines that Morton's move to Lyon has netted Liverpool a cool £15m including add-ons. The Reds also retain a 20 per cent sell-on fee and will stand to profit if the young midfield thrives in France and moves again. Morton follows Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher, Nat Phillips, Jarell Quansah and Luis Diaz in being sold this summer, with those deals raising a huge £145m. But again, more are forthcoming. Darwin Nunez has agreed terms on a switch to Al-Hilal which will see the Saudi Pro League side part with £46m, though add-ons will see that figure rise substantially. And Federico Chiesa will follow Nunez out the door after hardly featuring at all under Slot following his bargain move from Juventus last summer. All of those outgoings could help Liverpool land their top transfer target before 1 September: Alexander Isak. The Newcastle star is keen on the idea of moving to Anfield this summer but his club have no appetite to sell their top striker. Relations between the club and Isak, 25, have soured, though, after he went to Spain to train alone last week. The Sweden international was instructed to train alone on Wednesday and was not invited to a player-family bonding event earlier in the day. Newcastle will not consider a sale unless they can bring in quality reinforcements but they look set to miss out on a deal for Benjamin Sesko, with the Slovenian favouring a move to Manchester United. The Magpies have also missed out on other attacking targets during what has been a difficult summer transfer window, including Ekitike, Liam Delap and Bryan Mbeumo. Alan Shearer doesn't hold back on Newcastle's Alexander Isak situation - 'Not a good look'
Alan Shearer has not hidden his frustration with Newcastle's constant transfer failings this summer as he lays out his thoughts on how to handle the Alexander Isak situation Alan Shearer concedes the amount of players who have rejected Newcastle's interest is "not a good look" as he cited major holes in their hierarchy as a possible reason for their transfer failings. The Magpies have tried to land numerous players, the majority of whom have decided to head elsewhere. The club have secured the signing of Antony Elanga for £55million from Nottingham Forest, but beyond that have been dealt disappointment after disappointment. Joao Pedro, James Trafford and Bryan Mbeumo had all been on Eddie Howe's radar, but he's seen them move on to some of their Premier League rivals. Newcastle's business has not been aided by the lack of senior figures at St James' Park. Paul Mitchell left his role at Sporting Director and Darren Eales stepped down as CEO last year, but Shearer has not been impressed by the lack of recruitment. He told Betfair: "Why can't Newcastle get business done? I don't know whether it's to do with the fact they don't have a Chief Executive or Sporting Director. They've known for months now that the Chief Executive was leaving so I'm pretty surprised that one hasn't been announced as yet. "The Sporting Director left a couple of months ago now and they've known that, so that's a big surprise that those spaces haven't been filled. Whether that has anything to do with Newcastle's lack of business and the number of players that have said no to them, I don't know. It's not a good look." The biggest blow of the summer could still come if Alexander Isak does end up leaving Newcastle. The striker has proven himself to be among Europe's elite but has told the club's bosses that he wants to explore a move elsewhere with Liverpool circling. It will likely take a British-record fee to get the Swede out of St James' Park but Shearer is adamant that a replacement needs to be in before Isak is allowed to depart. Newcastle have, again, missed out on a key target with Benjamin Sesko poised to pick Manchester United over them. "Eddie will have to be at his persuasive best to try and turn Isak's head around because it has been turned in terms of him wanting to go to Liverpool," said Shearer. "On the proviso that he does want to go and Eddie can't turn his head, then you get the money. But prior to that, you have to get people in to replace him."
