Shefali Jariwala death: Drastic drop in blood pressure to blame? Here's what we know

Shefali Jariwala death: After anti-ageing pills, beauty supplements were found in Shefali Jariwala's Mumbai apartment on Monday, a police official said that the actor's 'blood pressure had dropped drastically and she began shivering' after which she was rushed to the hospital. The 'Kaanta Laga' star had taken an injection in the afternoon – possibly for anti-ageing – and also had her usual dose of pills in the night, the official also told PTI. Shefali Jariwala, known for her iconic music video 'Kaanta Laga' passed away on Friday, June 27. She was 42 years old. Although initial reports suggested that Shefali's death was due to cardiac arrest, police said that the cause is still not clear. During the course of the investigation, Mumbai police found anti-ageing medicine, skin glow tablets and vitamin supplements from the actor's home on Monday, June 30. Although Shefali Jariwala was not taking the tablets on a doctor's consultation, it did not affect her health, the actor's family said, reported Hindustan Times The actor was fasting on Friday due to a puja at her home, and consuming various medicines on an empty stomach may have caused her blood pressure to drop, said an official, as per ANI. On Friday, June 27, Shefali Jariwala was rushed to Mumbai's Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital by her husband Parag Tyagi, where she was declared dead upon arrival. 'Her blood pressure dropped drastically and she began shivering, following which family members rushed her to hospital,' a police officer told PTI on Monday. Following Shefali's death, her body was sent to Cooper Hospital in Mumbai's Juhu for post-mortem. The autopsy has been performed on the actor's body and the opinion about her cause of death has been 'reserved', a police official said on Saturday, reported PTI. In connection with the probe into Shefali Jariwala's death cause, the Amboli police have so far recorded statements from 10 individuals, including her husband Parag Tyagi, parents, and house-help. All of these people were present at Shefali's house when she was taken to the hospital. However, nothing suspicious has been found so far, reported ANI.

The dramatic moment happened after Dommaraju Gukesh defeated the current World No. 1 for the first time in classical chess. The match between Gukesh and Carlsen was a big highlight of Round 6 at Norway Chess. In their first meeting earlier in the tournament, Carlsen had defeated Gukesh. But this time, it was the current world champion who turned things around. Although Carlsen was in a better position, he made a big mistake towards the end that allowed Gukesh to grab victory. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD After losing the clash, Carlsen slammed the table in frustration. The clip went viral on social media and sparked many memes. Some fans even criticised the reaction, calling it unsportsmanlike. Praggnanandhaa, who is now India's new No. 1 player, defended Carlsen's reaction. Pragg defends Carlsen's viral reaction During an interview with PTI, Praggnanandhaa said that Carlsen's reaction was instinctive and happens to every player. Pragg added that even he and Gukesh have sometimes shown similar outbursts after losing a game. 'Yes, it was an instinctive reaction. I think it does happen to players. I've done it sometimes, but rarely. I mean, it's (me hitting the table) not as powerful as Magnus because he's a strong guy, but Gukesh has done it and many others. It's just an instinctive reaction because you're so focused that it just comes out," Pragg said. On the work front, Praggnanandhaa recently won his third title of the year at the UzChess Cup Masters 2025 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Dubai conducts first test flight of aerial taxi

Agency: PTI Dubai, Jun 30 (PTI) Dubai has successfully completed the first test flight of an aerial taxi, a fully electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, marking a major step in its efforts to introduce sustainable and next-generation urban transport. The aerial taxi is designed to offer fast and zero-emission travel within cities, operating with minimal noise and requiring only a small landing footprint. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, said the achievement reflects the city's commitment to placing the UAE at the forefront of transformative technologies that drive global progress. 'Further, the successful aerial taxi test flight demonstrates our determination to transform breakthrough technologies into practical solutions that enhance quality of life and set new benchmarks for urban development," he said. Conducted by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in partnership with Joby Aviation, the Joby Aerial Taxi flight took place at a designated site in the Dubai desert. Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, said the launch underscored Dubai's commitment to keeping pace with rapid global transformations and developing future-ready solutions to emerging mobility challenges. The aircraft has a range of up to 160 kilometres and a top speed of 320 kilometres per hour, with flights such as Dubai International Airport to Palm Jumeirah expected to take just 12 minutes, compared to 45 minutes by car. The first commercial aerial taxi flights are scheduled for 2026, with station operations launching near Dubai International Airport. The project is part of a broader strategy under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 to integrate advanced transport solutions and enhance quality of life. 'Dubai serves as a launchpad for a global revolution in mobility, and flying our aircraft here represents a pivotal step towards integrating Aerial Taxi services into the fabric of daily life around the world," said JoeBen Bevirt, Founder and CEO of Joby Aviation. Dubai is the first city in the world that has committed to offering urban air mobility services through an advanced vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) infrastructure network for aerial taxis.
