Ellen DeGeneres is plotting a career comeback... after getting 'a bit bored watching chickens' in England
The 67-year-old TV host's long-running series The Ellen DeGeneres Show ended in 2022 after 19 seasons on-air.
Now living in the UK countryside with her wife Portia de Rossi after they moved to the Cotswolds from California in November.
Ellen revealed she's busy looking after her menagerie of farm animals which includes horses, sheep and chickens, but she's also thinking about what to do next.
Speaking to TV presenter Richard Bacon during her In Conversation with Ellen DeGeneres event at Cheltenham's Everyman theatre, Ellen explained: 'I mean, I wish it [the talk show format worked], because I would do the same thing here [in the UK].
'I would love to do that again, but I just feel like people are watching on their phones, or people aren't really paying attention as much to televisions, because we're so inundated with with information and entertainment.'

Ellen added: '[I'll pick my next career move] very carefully. I just don't know what that is yet. I want to have fun, I want to do something. I do like my chickens but I'm a little bit bored.'
Ellen's TV show ended following a slew of allegations about a 'toxic' atmosphere onset - which prompted an on-air apology from the star - but she fears she will forever be painted as 'mean.'
She explained: 'It's as simple as, I'm a direct person, and I'm very blunt, and I guess sometimes that means that... I'm mean?...
'How dare us [women] have any kind of mood, or you can't be anything other than nice and sweet and kind and submissive and complacent...
'I don't think I can say anything that's ever going to get rid of that [reputation] or dispel it, which is hurtful to me. I hate it. I hate that people think that I'm that because I know who I am and I know that I'm an empathetic, compassionate person.'
But before she returns to entertainment she may walk down the aisle again.
DeGeneres and her wife de Rossi are considering getting remarried in the UK if the US overturns same-sex marriage.
The couple - whose move to the Cotswolds was spurred on by the re-election of President Donald Trump in 2024 - tied the knot during an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles, California, in 2008.
'[It] certainly an unpleasant way to end [the talk show].'

But after a vote by Southern Baptists in June to endorse a resolution that would look to overturn Obergefell v Hodges - the Supreme Court case that legalized same-sex marriage across the US in June 2015 - Ellen and Portia are 'looking into' saying 'I do' in the UK to protect their marriage.
Speaking to TV presenter Bacon she revealed: 'The Baptist Church in America is trying to reverse gay marriage.
'They're trying to literally stop it from happening in the future and possibly reverse it.
'Portia and I are already looking into it, and if they do that, we're going to get married here.'
A reversal of Obergefell would not ban gay marriage, but would call 'for laws that affirm marriage between one man and one women'.
Later in the talk, Ellen expressed her sadness that not all societies accept people of all sexualities.
She said: 'I wish we were at a place where it was not scary for people to be who they are. I wish that we lived in a society where everybody could accept other people and their differences.
'So until we're there, I think there's a hard place to say we have huge progress.'
Ellen confirmed she and Portia, 52, moved to the UK because of Donald Trump, 79, being re- elected as President of the United States in November 2024.
Admitting that 'everything here is just better' after leaving the Republican Party-led country, the former talk-show host said: 'We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in.' And we're like, 'We're staying here.'

Vogue Williams has revealed she's quit alcohol after her husband Spencer Matthews suggested she 'lay off the booze' following bouts of binge drinking. The TV presenter, 39, shares three children with the former Made in Chelsea star, who recently stopped his occasional drinking to return to total sobriety. M&S quietly axes much-loved sweets from range branded better than Percy Pigs
M&S shoppers have been left heartbroken after it quietly axed a much-loved sweet treat. The posh nosh maker said customers will no longer be able to chomp down on Collin the Caterpillar Hearts and Rainbow jellies. It comes after fanatics were searching high and low for the treat in stores. One fan of the bug-shaped sweets reached out to M&S to ask where the product had vanished to. Writing on X, they said: "Have you guys stopped the Colin the Caterpillar - Hearts and Rainbows sweets!!?! "Please don't tell me 'there's other tasty sweets' cuz they were my fave and a comfort food." But the store replied and confirmed the multicoloured treats were no more. The shopper was left distraught adding, they "always had stock" in their cupboard, and said their friends agreed the sweet was "the best". The news is also likely to come as a blow to customers who in the past described the product as "fantastic" and "so juicy". The Sun reached out to an M&S spokesperson who also confirmed the treat had been axed. They said: 'We are always listening to customer feedback and looking at how we can innovate to bring new quality products to our customers and our Colin and Percy confectionery ranges are no exception. "We have recently launched our Colin the Caterpillar Sour Stomps and Percy Pig Squidgy Snouts which are flying off the shelves." Shoppers race to M&S as one of their best selling items which is a mum-essential viral are scanning for just 63 PENCE It is not the first time M&S has shaken up its offering of treats featuring the critter, which fans have branded better than Percy Pig. Last year, fans were left distraught after it confirmed that it is stopped making Colin The Caterpillar Fizzy Rainbow sweets. Elsewhere, the retailer said goodbye to the Colin and Connie "Together Forever" sweets. At the time, an annoyed customer said: "Potentially an unpopular opinion but I think @marksandspencer Connie the Caterpillar sweets are better than Percy Pigs." The sweets in the Colin and Connie pack were fruit gums with a love heart in the middle. While another fan said: "OK, I'm just gonna say it... Elsewhere, shoppers signed up to its Sparks parenthood club can pick up a free cake worth £4.25. This can be done if you go into the "My Account" section of your Sparks app and then click on "Subscriptions & clubs". You should see the option to register for Parent Hood. It is free to sign up for this club but you must be an expectant parent or have a child under two years old.
