Central African Republic's Foreign Minister delivers letter to King Mohammed VI
The Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed his counterpart from the Central African Republic, Sylvie Baïpo-Temon, this Wednesday, March 12, in Rabat. She delivered a written message from Central African President Faustin-Archange Touadéra to King Mohammed VI.
In a statement to the press, Baïpo-Temon expressed her satisfaction with the strong ties between Rabat and Bangui, emphasizing that her visit aimed to further strengthen cooperation, particularly in economic sectors. She was accompanied by Richard Filakota, the Minister of Economy, Planning, and International Cooperation.
The minister also conveyed her gratitude to Morocco for its support during challenging times for her country, reaffirming Bangui's commitment to deepening security cooperation with the Kingdom. She praised Morocco's role in peacekeeping operations in the Central African Republic, highlighting that «the Kingdom of Morocco has always stood by the Central African Republic in the face of various common challenges».
Baïpo-Temon last visited Rabat in June 2024. On January 23, 2020, the Central African Republic opened a consulate general in Laayoune, a move that was met with criticism from Algeria.

Okudzeto Ablakwa also lauded His Majesty the King's initiative to promote Sahel countries' access to the Atlantic Ocean, underlining the strategic importance of this Initiative, which forms part of Morocco's active solidarity with sister African countries. 1,345 Requests, Complaints Handled in 2024 via 'Chikaya.ma' Portal
Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita told the House of Councillors on Tuesday that in 2024, the Ministry handled a total of 1,345 requests and complaints received via the " national claims Portal. Responding during question time, Bourita stressed that " constitutes an operational framework for interaction with the grievances of Moroccans worldwide, emphasizing the paramount importance of listening to them and taking their expectations into account. The Minister explained that the complaints received can be divided into four main categories. The first category comprises consular complaints concerning the procedures and services provided by diplomatic representations, while the second concerns issues relating to civil status or personal affairs. The fourth category includes complaints of a social, economic or financial nature, relating to subjects such as taxation and land ownership. He also assured that the Ministry handles directly all complaints falling within its remit, while other claims are forwarded to the relevant departments or to the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad. In addition, he noted close coordination with the Institution of the Ombudsman to interact with these complaints, stressing that the new framework ordered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, concerning the Mohammedia Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad will provide a more suitable framework for handling these complaints and expectations more swiftly and effectively, thus providing timely responses and ensuring better coordination between relevant departments. Operation Marhaba 2025 Focuses on Traffic Fluidity, Enhanced Security & Local Support
Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, said on Tuesday 03 June that Operation Marhaba 2025 is set to be mainly focused on ensuring traffic fluidity, enhancing security, providing local support and maintaining heightened health vigilance. Speaking during question time at the House of Councillors, Bourita stated that 29 ships belonging to seven shipping companies will operate 12 routes from the ports of Italy, France and Spain, adding that a budget of around MAD 28 million has been allocated to improve the reception infrastructure at the port of Tanger-Med. The minister also highlighted that security is set to be enhanced thanks to strengthened border control mechanisms, and that local support will be provided through 24 reception centers, including 18 in France and 6 abroad, in addition to the mobilization of additional human resources, on the High Royal Instructions. Bourita added that consulates will operate from June 15 to September 15, as usual, on a permanent basis (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays), noting that staffing levels will be increased and mobile consulates will be set up "to support this large-scale operation, placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for the benefit of three million citizens." Health vigilance is also part of this general mobilization, with the presence of specialized teams on the roads and at rest areas, he added, emphasizing that "the aim is to improve this operation year on year, so as to live up to the ambition of His Majesty the King." Bourita also recalled that preparations for this large-scale, unparalleled operation included several meetings of the National Transit Commission, chaired by the Ministry of the Interior, as well as the organization of a Moroccan-Spanish meeting in Cadiz on May 29, in addition to thematic sectoral meetings.
