Filipino fashion designer Yong Davalos is holding a warehouse sale offering up to 70% off on pieces from her inclusive fashion lines, Yong Studio and Tayo Studio.
The sale runs until August 3 at the Yong Studio HQ in Quezon City.
Known for championing body positivity, Yong's brands offer sizes from XS to 4XL.
In 2023, she also showcased a "wearable art" collection in collaboration with artist Melissa Yeung Yap, with part of the proceeds benefiting a center for sexually abused girls under the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs.

PH, Japan mark 69 years of unbreakable bond
Despite being on opposing sides during World War II, the Philippines and Japan have come a long way since the normalization of diplomatic ties in 1956. Nowadays, the two countries' partnership is stronger than ever—spanning culture, trade, people-to-people ties, development, and now on security cooperation. This deepening connection was commemorated in Osaka, Japan, during the 69th anniversary of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Day. The event, organized by the Tourism Promotions Board of the Department of Tourism in coordination with the Philippine Consulate General in Osaka, showcased the rich Filipino culture and the strength of bilateral ties through music, fashion, and sincere tributes. While the occasion was joyous, it also carried a message of empathy. Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, through the COO of the Tourism Promotions Board, expressed solidarity with Filipinos affected by the recent string of typhoons and flooding enhanced by the Southwest Monsoon (Hanging Habagat). 'Tonight our hearts and thoughts are with those facing difficult times. We hold you in our hearts even as we gather here today. It is in moments like this that we are reminded of our strength found in unity and the enduring friendship between the Philippines and Japan.' Consul General Voltaire Mauricio in an interview with GMA Integrated News emphasized the importance of disaster preparedness as a shared priority between the two countries. The Philippine Pavilion has welcomed about 600,000 visitors. Ambassador Haneda announced that the expo continues to welcome large crowds every day. A reimagined 'A portrait of the artist as Filipino' by Nick Joaquin to be staged this August
This August, the iconic Filipino stage classic "A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino" returns to the spotlight, not as a revival, but as a powerful reinvention. Entitled Quomodo Desolata Es? Isang Dalamhati, this fresh Filipino adaptation of Nick Joaquin's seminal 1955 play will be staged at the Hyundai Hall of Areté, Ateneo de Manila University. The adaptation and translation is helmed by acclaimed playwrights Jerry Respeto and Guelan Varela-Luarca, with Varela-Luarca also directing the production. The title, "Quomodo Desolata Es?" — or Latin for 'How desolate she has become?' — sets the tone for what the creators describe as a lamentation that flows between past and present, between literature and patriotism. The play reflects on cultural decay, generational duty, and the enduring struggle to preserve identity in a changing nation. Originally staged by the Barangay Theater Guild in 1955 at Aurora Gardens in Intramuros, "A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino" has long been celebrated for its introspective portrayal of two sisters caught in the crosscurrents of art, family, and society on the brink of war. This 2025 adaptation doesn't just seek to preserve Joaquin's intent, but to reinvigorate it with contemporary urgency, exploring questions of heritage, longing, and national grief through a more confrontational and poetic lens. "'Quomodo Desolata Es?' is a question of longing, uncertainty, and despair, answered through an elegy filled with dignity, conviction, and love for the nation and the art form," said the production team.
