KC Triathlon, Zoo pet vaccination event to shut down roads this weekend
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Several road closures are scheduled this weekend in Kansas City as the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is hosting a pet vaccination event on Saturday, May 17.
Overnight pavement work on I-70 to begin Sunday in Wyandotte County
Visitors will not be able to enter the zoo via Elmwood Avenue, from E. Gregory Boulevard to Mall Drive – or from Mall Drive to the west towards Swope Parkway – between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Guests will need to enter the zoo via 63rd Street or Starlight Road. Zoo Drive will not be impacted by this event.

The Kansas City Triathlon begins at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 18. Bike and run routes will be completely closed to traffic, organizers said on the event website.
The Grandview Police Department said on Facebook that Raytown Road will be closed at Highgrove through Interstate 470 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday.
Weekend road closures scheduled on I-670 in Kansas City
The road is expected to reopen at 11 a.m., but the closure could last longer depending on when the triathlon ends.

Interstate 670 East will be closed just past 18th Street in Kansas to Troost Avenue in Missouri, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The road closure will begin Friday at 7 p.m. and last until 6 a.m. Monday.

Overnight pavement work on Interstate 70 will begin Sunday, May 20. Overnight closures will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday – and Fridays, as needed.

Weekend road closures scheduled on I-670 in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Transportation will close some roads in downtown Kansas City this weekend. According to MoDOT, eastbound Interstate 670 from just past 18th Street in Kansas to Troost Avenue in Missouri will need to be closed for the weekend while crews perform repaving work. Carthage-area bridge to close for $2.8 million replacement project
JASPER CO., Mo. — A Carthage area bridge will close to traffic for the next several weeks. Crews will begin a 2.8 million dollar project to replace the Missouri Route 96 bridge over Route 171, just west of Carthage, starting Monday, May 12. The new bridge will be 12 feet longer and slightly higher, with a new guardrail, barrier walls, and permanent striping. Driveways on either side of the bridge will still be accessible, and Route 171 will stay open during construction except for brief intervals. Detours will be marked with signs.
