Boston Celtics fans should still be worried about Jaylen Brown's knee
Brown's mid-range shooting has become a key factor in his ability to remain impactful. While his knee issues will undoubtedly limit his explosiveness around the rim, he can play under more control when hunting space in the mid-range. Once the playoffs begin, Brown will have plenty of room to operate, as most teams shift toward a drop coverage due to the half-court nature of the postseason.

Nevertheless, Felger and Mazz recently shared their concerns regarding Brown's knee issues on 98.5 The Sport's Hub. They discussed whether Brown will be anywhere near 100% healthy once the playoffs arrive, and whether he can sustain the physicality of the postseason on what will likely be another deep run.

Packers safety Omar Brown spending the night in Indianapolis hospital after suffering bruised chest
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur said safety Omar Brown will spend Saturday night in an Indianapolis hospital for further evaluation after suffering a chest contusion in a preseason game against the Colts. LaFleur provided the update following Green Bay's come-from-behind 23-19 victory. Brown was seen wearing an oxygen mask and holding his midsection as he left the field on a golf cart. LaFleur did not have any additional details about the injury. 'It's a scary deal,' LaFleur said. Brown spent most of last season on the Packers practice squad, but wound up playing in two games and has had a strong enough training camp that he could make the Packers' 53-man roster. It's yet another injury to an already depleted secondary that is without Pro Bowl safety Xavier McKinney and cornerback Nate Hobbs. Green Bay remains hopeful both McKinney and Hobbs will be ready for the Sept. 7 season opener against division rival Detroit. Packers defensive lineman Barryn Sorrell also left with a knee injury in the first half. Running back MarShawn Lloyd also did not return after hauling in a 33-yard catch in the second quarter though it wasn't clear if he was injured on the play.

Boston Celtics sign Ron Harper Jr. to training camp deal
As we edge closer to the start of the 2025-26 NBA season, teams are starting to prepare for training camp and preseason. This is the point in the summer when players begin to sign Exhibit 10 contracts, in the hopes of either earning a spot on a roster or being given a chance in the G League. Ron Harper Jr. is the Boston Celtics' first Exhibit 10 addition this summer. Harper Jr. will be entering his fourth NBA season, having originally signed with the Toronto Raptors as a rookie. He also spent some time with the Maine Celtics this past season, and will now get an opportunity to make an impression on Joe Mazzulla and his coaching staff throughout the summer. In total, Harper Jr. made 27 G League appearances this past season, split between the Motor City Cruise and Maine Celtics, where he averaged 18.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists, shooting 39% from deep on 8.9 attempts per outing. As the Celtics already have their two-way spots filled courtesy of Amari Williams, Max Shulga and RJ Luis, Harper Jr. will either make the main roster as the 15th and final member of the roster, or join the Maine Celtics in the hope of triggering a bonus should he stay with the team for 60 days. Of course, right now, his only focus will be on making a strong impression and working to improve his game. Ex-Celtic Kristaps Porzingis shines in EuroBasket warm-up game
Ex-Celtic Kristaps Porzingis shines in EuroBasket warm-up game originally appeared on The Sporting News Former Boston Celtic Kristaps Porzingis is looking much more like himself in a warm-up game ahead of the EuroBasket tournament. Porzingis led Team Latvia in a 109-105 loss over Team Lithuania. Porzingis dazzled in this game, scoring 22 points and notching five assists in the loss, looking much closer to the version of himself that most basketball fans have become accustomed to seeing. The last time Porzingis stepped on the court, it was for the Celtics during the team's playoff run, which ended in the Eastern Conference Semifinals at the hands of the New York Knicks. Porzingis had been battling an undisclosed illness for the majority of the playoffs, and it affected his performance on the court in such a negative manner that head coach Joe Mazzula opted to bring him off the bench on numerous occasions. After being such an integral part of the Celtics' championship run the year before, Porzingis averaged just 7.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in 11 playoff games this past season (seven starts), rendering him almost unplayable for long stretches of game action. His latest EuroBasket performance is sure to leave a sour taste in Celtics fans' mouths, especially considering that Porzingis was traded to the Atlanta Hawks earlier this offseason after his porous postseason. Perhaps all the 30-year-old needed was some extended rest to recover from his odd illness. Nonetheless, if this recent performance is any indication, Porzingis looks healthy, and letting him go — especially to another Eastern Conference rival — can't sit well with the Celtics' brass, nor the fanbase.
