2 Fresh Collabs From ASICS x Bahnsen & adidas x Liberty Bring Florals, Flair & Femme Energy
Two footwear drops just landed, and they're serving major style with a side of comfort.
From dreamy florals to bold street vibes, these sneakers are made to turn heads. Ready to upgrade your rotation? Let's get into it.
Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GEL-Kayano 20
Danish designer Cecilie Bahnsen is back with ASICS, reimagining the chunky GEL-Kayano 20 through a lens of soft-edge sophistication.
Known for her floaty silhouettes and modern femininity, Bahnsen brings the same energy here – think sheer materials, flower-shaped lace charms, and a structure that flirts with the Mary Jane silhouette.
Two standout colourways are on offer: 'Vanilla/Pure Silver,' a dreamy combo elevated with black patent floral details, and 'Olive,' a bolder look featuring translucent layers and silver petals. Both versions toe the line between streetwear and high fashion.
Beyond the looks, there's plenty of substance. You still get ASICS' signature GEL tech, plus an elastic strap branded with Bahnsen's name for a sleek finish. The reworked cage and tongue bring extra flair, thanks to a TPU loop lacing system and open-bottom tongue that adds architectural edge.
The Cicilie Bahnsen x ASICS GEL-Kayano 20s will retail for approximately RM1,035 and will be available on ASICS starting this month – so don't sleep, because these floral baddies won't be blooming for long.
Liberty London x adidas Samba
Florals for summer might not be groundbreaking, but Liberty London's take on the adidas Samba is giving something entirely fresh.
It's where cottagecore softness meets city-street edge – delicate, but with a wink.
Dressed in a pale pink base with soft white florals, the upper feels almost embroidered, with a finish reminiscent of vintage silk scarves. Hot pink accents pop on the heel tab and Three Stripes, while tan nubuck trims pull the palette together with thoughtful contrast.
Underneath it all? That iconic brown gum sole, keeping things grounded – literally. This is still a Samba, after all: timeless, wearable, and quietly cool.
The Liberty London x adidas Samba will retail for RM470 and will be available for purchase starting 30th May at adidas and selected adidas stores.

Jonassen believes national men's singles shuttlers lack 'mental consistency'
DESPITE Malaysia's men's singles shuttlers having what it takes to compete with the world's elite, their coach Kenneth Jonassen believes they still lack one crucial element: mental consistency. According to the New Straits Times, Jonassen shared his views on singles players Leong Jun Hao and Justin Hoh, stating that both are still struggling to maintain form over successive matches. At the Singapore Open, Leong defeated world number five Jonatan Christie in the second round—his third win in five matches against the Indonesian. However, he was unable to carry that momentum forward and lost in the following round to Thailand's world number one, Kunlavut Vitidsarn. 'You can have the strokes, the speed, the fitness, but if you're not mentally sharp every day, it's not enough. 'Right now, that's the main gap between us and the top nations. 'Jun Hao and Justin have shown they can beat top-level opponents. But the question is, can they do it again the next day, and the day after that?' Jonassen was quoted as saying. He further noted that the solution lies not just in working harder but in training smarter—by replicating the intensity and pressure of actual match play during practice sessions. A recent training stint with world number three Anders Antonsen at the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM), where the Danish player was preparing for the Singapore Open, gave the national shuttlers a taste of that standard. 'Antonsen trained not only with Jun Hao but also with our top juniors,' he was also quoted as saying. 'That exposure is invaluable. Our boys need to see what real consistency looks like—not just in a match, but throughout a full week of high-performance training,' he added. Jonassen also praised the Danish player's professionalism and discipline throughout his training at ABM. 'It's the warm-up, the mindset, the body language. When you're on court with someone like that, you realise—there are no lapses in focus, no off days. That's what we need to build,' he pointed out. He emphasised that it is not enough for players to perform well in isolated matches—they must be able to deliver consistent performances throughout an entire tournament. 'Anyone can play well once. 'What we need are players who can do it five days in a row. That's the real battle,' he was quoted as saying.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei admit rhythm still missing after shaky start
KUALA LUMPUR: Mixed doubles Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei showed grit and resilience as they battled through a mid-match wobble to overcome India's K. Dhruv-Tanisha Crasto in the first round of the Indonesia Open on Wednesday. The world No. 4 made a strong start but struggled to maintain their rhythm, eventually pulling through with a hard-fought 21-11, 16-21, 21-14 win over the world No. 17 Indian duo at Istora Senayan in Jakarta. The patchy performance was not unexpected, as the pair are only playing their second tournament together since reuniting earlier this year. They resumed their partnership at last week's Singapore Open, where they crashed out in the second round to Taiwan's world No. 16 Ye Hong Wei-Nicole Chan. Ee Wei admitted they are still working on their on-court chemistry. "We're still finding our rhythm as a pair," she said. "But we just kept believing in each other during the match, and that helped us pull through." Tang Jie praised the Indian pair's intensity and said the tight opener will spur them to step up. "Tanisha is always a tough opponent — aggressive and physically strong," he said. "In the second game, we didn't adjust quickly enough. But after the interval in the third, we were more determined to win. "We're still finding our rhythm, but if we keep trusting and pushing each other, we'll get there." Tang Jie-Ee Wei will next face world No. 23 Mads Vestergaard-Christine Busch in the second round, after the Danish pair beat India's S. Ashith-P. Amrutha 21-15, 21-9. The Malaysians hold a 2-0 head-to-head record against the Danes.
