Asterisk Talley, Miles Russell headline 12-member U.S. team for 2025 Junior Ryder Cup
Suzy Whaley will be the captain of the squad that will head to Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, New York, to take on a 12-member European squad.
The format calls for foursomes and four-ball matches over the first two days. Then, the venue changes, as the singles matches will be played at Bethpage Black on the eve of the 45th Ryder Cup.
This will be the first time that the U.S. Ryder Cup venue will host the Junior Ryder Cup singles matches.

Almost the entirety of the internet thought the incident was hilarious and quickly got busy making memes. But then it just kept happening. The bizarre trend continued a few days later at an August 1 game between the Valkyries and the Chicago Sky. The third time this happened, Indian Fever star Sophie Cunningham ended up getting hit in the head with the sex toy after telling people on X (formerly Twitter) to 'stop throwing dildos on the court… you're going to hurt one of us.' Then, someone tried to throw another green dildo at a New York Liberty game, but instead of it landing on the court, it nearly hit a child, according to a video posted on social media. Once a sex toy almost nails a kid in the head, it's time to look at what we're doing. At first, we wondered if this wasn't a funny, tongue-in-cheek way to call out just how sapphic the game has gotten, but now that a man has been arrested and said that it was 'supposed to be a joke' and 'go viral,' the intentions seem more problematic. Being taken seriously as a female athlete is already a tough assignment, and having sex toys flying left and right during games isn't helping, especially at a time when WNBA players are fighting for better compensation and revenue sharing. Bottom line: women's sports are not a joke. And while we'd like to think this started as a harmless prank that gave us all a chuckle, it's starting to smack of sexism. In the beginning even some of the players seemed to laugh along. Fever guard Sydney Colson even went on her podcast dressed a green dildo, but then things kept escalating and other players started pointing out how 'disrespectful' and 'dangerous' it is. 'It's super disrespectful,' Sky center Elizabeth Williams said after he game against the Valkyries, per Front Office Sports. 'I don't really get the point of it. It's really immature. Whoever's doing it just needs to grow up.' Sparks coach Lynne Roberts also said, 'It's ridiculous, it's dumb, it's stupid. It's also dangerous. Player safety is number one, respecting the game, all those things. I think it's really stupid.' And GOAT Diana Taurasi had the perfect response for the jokesters, 'I would have picked that thing up and thrown it right back at them.' Maybe we should all just listen to the players themselves. So whoever is keeping this 'joke' going, whether they are straight or gay, it's time to call it quits. The bit is getting tired anyway, right? 'What a city': Son Heung-min lands at Los Angeles FC with plans for trophies, love for Korean fans
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Son Heung-min has arrived at Los Angeles FC with great excitement and even greater ambitions for the next stage of his groundbreaking soccer career. 'I'm here to win, and I will perform,' Son said at a packed news conference. 'I will definitely show you something exciting ... are we calling it football or soccer? I will definitely show some exciting football, and we definitely will have success.' LAFC formally introduced its new forward Wednesday at BMO Stadium, where his likeness already looms over the main entrance gates and on video boards surrounding the stadium. The 33-year-old South Korean superstar is back on the Pacific Rim after a professional career spent in Europe, including the past decade at Tottenham. 'What can I say? Dream come true. LA, what a city,' said Son, who will wear No. 7 in black and gold. Son had suitors from around the globe after he decided to leave Spurs, and he said the decision to join LAFC initially wasn't obvious. He came around to the idea of moving to MLS after conversations with LAFC general manager John Thorrington, who sold Son on the 8-year-old club's ambition to be an international brand and the most successful club in North America. 'If I'm honest, it was not my first choice,' Son said. 'But (from the) first call when I talked to John after the season finished, he just changed my mind. He changed my heart. He changed my brain. Gareth Bale, Giorgio Chiellini and Olivier Giroud have all suited up for LAFC, while the crosstown rival LA Galaxy have welcomed even more European superstars, including David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robbie Keane and Marco Reus. Son did not appear to be in decline during the past season as Tottenham's captain, and he said he is in good game shape after participating in Spurs' summer tour of Asia. He did not set a date for his LAFC debut, but it could be this month. 'I just felt like I need a new chapter, I need a new challenge, and I choose LAFC,' Son said. 'I think we can say I'm old, but I still have a good physicality, good legs, and still have a good quality.
