Hacks fans have more than just a finale to look forward to. The hit Emmy-winning series starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder will officially return for a fifth season. Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder celebrated the renewal in a video posted to the 'streamonmax' Instagram account. 'I'm so excited,' said Smart. 'Hacks just got officially picked up for season 5. I'm thrilled! Congratulations to my cast and everybody in the production. And to all of our Hacks fans out there, please join us again for season 5. Yay!' Einbinder echoed those sentiments. 'It's official,' she said. 'We're coming back for season 5, baby! And don't worry, I will continue to pitch the lesbian arc.' For those who closely follow the show, the announcement of a fifth season should come as no surprise. Last year, show creators Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky sat with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss their 'ideal' five-season plan for the series. Statsky said that Smart was likely to be on board, saying, 'She's somebody who's like, "Let's not dilute what it is. Let's make sure it stays high-quality."' Downs agreed. 'When we first met with her, we talked about this plan without being too specific,' he said. 'She and Hannah both read the scripts as they are written. They don't want us to say, "OK, here's what's happening this season."' It's safe to say that Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder will return as Deborah and Ava, respectively. Paul W. And Just Like That Season 4 - News, Cast, Updates, More
While Sex and the City is a beloved, ground-breaking show that fans still rewatch today. It's sequel series, And Just Like That, is loved for different reasons. The series is so wacky and so distinct from the original, that it's addictive in its own way—it's hard not to tune in to find out what totally unexpected or unreasonable thing is going to happen next. (Plus, there's still some great fashion to take in!) So, if you're excited about the third season, you're not alone, and if you're already wondering if there is going to be a fourth, that's understandable. Hell, at this point, let the story of Carrie Bradshaw continue on as long as possible. Here's what we know about the future of And Just Like That. As reported by Deadline, And Just Like That was renewed for a third season in August 2023, only a couple of days before the season 2 finale. At that time, the show was only renewed for one season, so there is no official announcement about a fourth season yet. The good news? If HBO Max follows a similar pattern when it comes to announcing the fourth season, we'll find out very soon. Season 3 premieres on May 29, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the finale will air August 14. So, maybe we'll get an announcement in August? Love. Friendship. Aging. Family. New York City. Shoes. You know, the usual. It's impossible to know at this point what the specific storylines would be, because season 3 isn't over yet. I mean, season 2 ended with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan (John Corbett) breaking up and making some sort of vague deal that they'd reunite after five years when his kids were grown up. Didn't see that one coming, so anything can happen! The third season focuses on Carrie, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), Seema (Sarita Choudhury), and LTW (Nicole Ari Parker.) We know that Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez) and Nya (Karen Pittman) are not returning, so it seems unlikely that they'd be back for a potential fourth season. We also know that Dolly Wells and Sebastiano Pigazzi are returning after joining in season 2, so if their connections to Miranda and Anthony (Mario Cantone), respectively, continue on, maybe they'll be back for season 4, too. And while we got a glimpse of her in the season 2 finale, Samantha (Kim Cattrall) will not be back. Well, probably. In July 2024, Cattrall responded to a post on X (formerly Twitter) about her returning for season 3. She wrote, "Aw that's so kind but I'm not" and added a kiss emoji. Fourth season's a charm? Doubtful. If there is a fourth season of And Just Like That, it's hard to know when it will be released. There was a year-and-a-half gap between the first season and the second, and then there was a two-year break between the release of the second and the third seasons. As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, there was a delay in production of season 3 due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes. So, unless there's another delay, maybe season 4 would have a faster turnaround. For now, take in all that season 3 has to offer, including Carrie becoming a fiction writer, flirtations with new love interests, and rats. Yes, rats. That's new, huh?

Russell Brand Pleads Not Guilty to Rape, Indecent and Sexual Assault Charges in London
Russell Brand appeared at a London court on Friday after being charged with rape, and indecent and sexual assault, pleading not guilty to all five charges. The disgraced comedian's first hearing had taken place earlier this month after it was confirmed that the U.K.'s Crown Prosecution Service had authorized the Metropolitan Police to charge a man, identified as 49-year-old Brand, following an investigation by detectives. The BBC reported that he pleaded not guilty to all five charges during his Friday appearance at London's Southwark Crown Court. Brand now faces a trial that is scheduled to start on June 3, 2026. The crimes he has been charged with relate to a 1999 rape in the Bournemouth area of the U.K.; a 2001 indecent assault of a woman in Westminster, London; the 2004 oral rape and sexual assault of a woman in Westminster, London; and between 2004 and 2005, the sexual assault of another woman in Westminster. When the formal charges were released, Brand, who has turned to Christianity and been baptized since widespread allegations came to light, responded to the charges in a video shared on his social media, stating: 'I've never engaged in nonconsensual activity. I pray that you can see that by looking in my eyes.' Detectives began investigating in September 2023 after receiving a number of allegations, which followed reporting by Channel 4's Dispatches and The Sunday Times. The program aired extensive allegations against Brand. One of the women told Dispatches that Brand entered a relationship with her when he was 31 and she was 16. Their relationship lasted three months, she had said, and Brand had been 'emotionally abusive and controlling.' Another claimed that Brand raped her in 2012 in his L.A. home, according to the Sunday Times. The British celebrity denied all claims made against him, which date between 2006 and 2013, when Brand was at the height of his fame working on Big Brother's Big Mouth, Kings of Comedy and Big Brother's Celebrity Hijack. A Banijay U.K.-commissioned investigation later found informal complaints concerning Brand were made over 20 years ago on set, and another review into Brand's behavior at the BBC, in particular between 2006 and 2008 when he worked for 6 Music and Radio 2, found that fellow employees believed he 'would always get his way, and therefore stayed silent.'
