Pair Autumn Jeans With Your Summer Dress For A Cool Girl Outfit Recipe
This combination is nothing new, Katie Holmes gave everyone quite the fright rocking the combination back in 2022, while everyone from Ashley Tisdale to Sienna Miller had this ensemble on repeat during the Y2K years.
Like the distant rumble of leggings under dresses coming back, we understand the pairing might be a little triggering for the millennials and gen X-ers among us, but don't be intimidated to try the trend again with these easy steps.
A mini dress with a free or empire waist is your most failsafe bet when it comes to trying the ensemble for yourself, while a midi or maxi dress works, a nightie or prairie-style mini contrasts well with denim. Plus, this is the way you can extend the life of your much-loved summer dresses. It's also a great way to wear your fanciest pieces in a more casual setting; Cecilie Bahnsen and Molly Goddard dresses do well over some worn out, vintage Levi's.
Speaking of denim, opting for a straight-leg style is wise; skinny jeans are going to take your straight back to the Indie Sleaze years, while baggy jeans might add too much volume. The style stars of Copenhagen Fashion Week largely wore the look with flip flops, but ballet flats and trainers with a slim profile would also work well.
Still not sure how to wear it? Here's where to shop the pieces you'd need now:

A word to honeyed golds, gleaming bronzes and glowing rose golds: the great jewellery trend pendulum has swung once more — and it's silver's turn in the spotlight. With all things Y2K making a comeback — jelly sandals, bootcut jeans and bubble skirts, to name a few — the silver renaissance is hardly surprising. 2025's silver jewellery is a far cry from the cheap, easily tarnished pieces of our youth. Gone are the mood rings that turn your fingers green, the rhinestone-encrusted pendants, and the bend-at-first-wear hoop earrings. Whatever your jewellery vibe — fine and dainty or bold and chunky, boho glam or gunmetal grunge — the brands ahead are creating pieces that will last. Click through to meet the top labels on our list serving up the best silver jewellery on the market. Pupari Brighton-based brand Pupari is our go-to for unique, whimsical jewellery. Catbird Shop This NYC-based Catbird has become the fashion set's go-to destination for fine, dainty jewellery. On the silver front, think barely-there chains, teeny-tiny pendants, ultra-thin stacking rings and delicate, engravable lockets and charms. Catbird also has its fingers firmly on the pulse, collaborating with musicians and actors like Phoebe Bridgers, Laufey and Jenny Slate, and trending TV shows like The Summer I Turned Pretty (as fans would know, it's here that Jeremy brought Belly the infamous engagement ring — the Diamond Fizz Sparkler). PDPAOLA Barcelona-based brand PDPAOLA was founded in 2015 by siblings Paola and Humbert Sasplugas with the intention of designing jewellery that transcends fleeting trends. The designers are inspired by everything from space to the natural world, creating pieces that are all about the small details. That stretches from the bold and statement-making to the delicate and dainty — from minimal, modern shapes and chunky sculptural silhouettes, to cascading, constellation-like diamonds and playful charm pendants (tiny rocketship necklace, anyone?). Mejuri Mejuri is known and loved for its gold jewellery, but its silver designs are equally desirable. From classic silver earrings and rings to the brand's iconic croissant designs, shop here if you're looking to build up your silver collection with timeless, elegant pieces that can be worn every day. Edge of Ember From initial pendants to personalised birthstone necklaces, Edge of Ember has all your loved ones' gifts covered. Even better, their prices start at £30. Many pieces come in under £100, and the brand is our go-to for building a budget-friendly earring stack. Alighieri Shop This Alighieri's pieces aren't just jewellery, they're wearable works of art. Molten, organic-shaped rings, pendants and bangles riff off the movement of water and fire, and are inspired by Greek mythology and human anatomy. Ray Jewels Shop This Ray Jewels Ali Star Ring BUY £145.00 Ray Jewels We fell for Ray Jewels after this video popped up on our For You Page, showing founder Sasha crafting the stunning Ali Star Ring. Otiumberg Otiumberg is a family business with a strong focus on responsibility within the jewellery industry and doing away with fast fashion trends. It's also a great brand to bookmark for beautifully made silver chains (from fine to chunkier, open-link designs), all your pendant needs, and for cool, sculptural pieces you won't find anywhere else. Music Legend Claps Back at Piers Morgan Over Beyoncé Comments
Music Legend Claps Back at Piers Morgan Over Beyoncé Comments originally appeared on Parade. Dionne Warwick isn't tolerating Piers Morgan's criticism of Beyoncé. After Beyoncé participated in a Marilyn Monroe-inspired ad campaign for Levi's, Morgan accused the singer of "cultural appropriation." "Very disappointed to see Beyoncé culturally appropriate Marilyn Monroe in her new Levi's ad." he wrote on X. The Levi's campaign shows the Cowboy Carter singer styled with platinum blonde curls, winged eyeliner, and red lipstick, channeling Monroe's old Hollywood aesthetic. Some pointed out similarities to Sydney Sweeney's controversial American Eagle ad, which also promotes a pair of classic American blue jeans. Shortly after Morgan's comments, Warwick took to X to defend the pop star. "Getting involved in women's business again, I see…" the music legend wrote. Fans immediately took to the replies to react to Warwick's unexpected defense of Beyoncé "It's giving obsessed" one fan wrote about Morgan alongside a crying emoji, to which Warwick replied, "Correct." "Whack him again" said another commenter. "Dionne we are always living for your Twitter clapback." added a third. Some members of the Beyhive were surprised by Warwick's comment due to her previous criticism of the singer. In 2019, the hitmaker sparked controversy when she said Beyoncé had yet to reach icon status. "I have an admiration for Beyoncé Knowles, Carter now. Watching her growth has been quite refreshing. It's wonderful to see how she's been able to create what and who she wanted to be and who she is… very proud of that, I really am," Warwick told Essence at the time. "Now sustaining and becoming a big icon that Gladys Knight, or Patti LaBelle, or Johnny Mathis, or Frank Sinatra, or Sammy Davis Jr. is? I doubt that," Warwick continued. "I love her to death and can appreciate her talent. But that iconic status? It's a long road [ahead]." After her comments went viral, Warwick quickly clarified what she really meant. "It takes a long time to reach and achieve iconic status," Warwick said. "That's not to say that Beyoncé isn't well on her way. She is a gifted performer. That was a reach from Essence." Piers Morgan's '90s Throwback Photo is a Who's Who of Hollywood Heavyweights
Piers Morgan's '90s Throwback Photo is a Who's Who of Hollywood Heavyweights originally appeared on Parade. Piers Morgan is looking back on the heyday of Hollywood. The controversial British talk show host, who recently caused a stir by criticizing Beyonce's Marilyn Monroe-inspired Levi's ad as "cultural appropriation," took to social media to post a throwback photo of himself alongside some of Hollywood's biggest heavyweights. Taken in 1993 when the popular chain restaurant Planet Hollywood opened, the photo shows Morgan bent down to pose for a photo alongside Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Bruce Willis, each wearing Planet Hollywood jackets. (The three were backers of the restaurant chain.) "Wow… someone randomly posted this photo on X today… it was taken in 1993 when Planet Hollywood opened in London and these three guys were the biggest movie action heroes in the world. It's so sad that Bruce is now enduring such a dreadful incurable illness (frontotemporal dementia). Had some fun times with him over the years, a great character as well as a great movie star. As are Sly and Arnie, two of my favourite stars to interview because they're always honest, funny and news-making," Morgan captioned the photo. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 No words if Morgan is still tight with that squad. However, one person we assume Morgan won't be hanging out with anytime soon is Stephen Colbert. In a recent tweet, Morgan made it clear that he won't be one of the many hosts lending his support to Colbert, whose program, The Late Show, was canceled. 'This is so damning,' Morgan wrote, posting a cover of the New York Post that referred to "The Left Show," a play on Colbert's left-leaning guests. 'Most of America's biggest late-night hosts have become nothing more than hyper-partisan activist hacks for the Democrats — a party that's rarely been more unpopular. No wonder Colbert got canned. More will follow.'Piers Morgan's '90s Throwback Photo is a Who's Who of Hollywood Heavyweights first appeared on Parade on Aug 12, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 12, 2025, where it first appeared.
