If you love the 1987 action/horror classic Predator, there's some very good news. While the next live action movie, Predator: Badlands, won't hit theaters until November 7, this week, there's another new Predator movie sneakily coming to streaming. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, the same guy who brought us Prey in 2022, a new animated movie called Predator: Killer of Killers is hitting Hulu this Friday. There have been two major trailers for Killer of Killers, one that reveals the basic premise of the movie, and another, a behind-the-scenes video detailing how this animated movie tries to take striking concept art and bring it to life. Unlike other Predator movies, Killer of Killers is an anthology concept, meaning the roughly 90-minute film has three sections, each depicting people battling Predators in different historical periods. The movie starts with ancient Vikings, moves to feudal Japan, and eventually, depicts Predators attacking WWII fighter planes. There is a method to this madness, though. All three stories are linked, and by the end of the movie, you'll see why. If the concept of Predators battling humans in historical settings sounds familiar, it should. In 2022, Trachtenberg's film Prey depicted a Comanche woman named Naru (Amber Midthunder) battling a Predator in 1719. The vibe of Killer of Killers very much follows the mood of Prey, and if you're paying attention, there's even some pretty big Easter eggs connected to that movie. Presumably, all of this is setting up the next big movie, Predator: Badlands. Starring Elle Fanning, that sci-fi action flick hits theaters on November 7. Jack Quaid & Ray Nicholson's Friendship Bringing Dad Jack Out of Hiding: ‘This Really Thrilled Him'
Ray Nicholson and Jack Quaid got along great while filming their latest movie together and a source exclusively tells Closer their relationship extends beyond just costars and includes hangouts with their A-list dads, Jack Nicholson and Dennis Quaid. 'It's not talked about a lot, but Jack's dad Dennis actually named him after Jack Nicholson, because he idolized him back in the day,' the insider says. 'So, to have their two sons now be working together and hanging out is such a full circle moment.' For Dennis, 71, screen legend Jack, 88, shaped how he sees cinema through his groundbreaking performances in iconic films like Chinatown, The Shining and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. He's been open in his admiration, revealing to E! News that his and Meg Ryan's 33-year-old son bears his idol's name out of respect and that it was actually his older brother, Randy Quaid, that put him up to the idea. "I just got to L.A. and my brother got a part in a movie called Missouri Breaks," The Day After Tomorrow actor recalled. "So I drove my brother's car up to Montana. My very first movie set, I'm watching these actors, my real heroes. We hung out at Jack Nicholson's house every night. He and Randy were good friends." 'They gave me a lot of encouragement," he added. "And that's a true story that we named him Jack after that." The source notes that growing up the kids of mega-famous actors in Hollywood gave the young actors, who are the same age, common ground. It's unsurprising they eventually developed a friendship, especially after working on Novocaine, which recently premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March. The film marked a serious career breakout for Ray, who had appeared in over 20 movies beforehand, but mostly in bit parts. 'Ray and Jack both have great relationships with their dads so it didn't take long for them to hit on the idea of doing a father son dinner,' the insider explains. 'Jack doesn't like to go out much, so he hosted,' the source continues. 'They all had a ball. It was fun for Dennis and Jack to reminisce about the good old days together and Ray was really happy to see his dad being social and having fun.' Ray has discussed how much of an inspiration his dad's career has been on his own. He Deadline in October 2024 '[Jack's] my inspiration. I ate dinner with him every night. I studied it, that's how I learned to be a human being. So, of course we're gonna be kind of similar.' The source adds that even though, 'in his old age Jack has turned into a bit of a hermit,' Ray has really stepped up to care for him, which includes organizing dinners with their friends the Quaids. 'This really thrilled him and now they're talking about doing it more often, maybe even once a week since Ray and Jack are such close friends now.'

In the search for answers, he stumbles into a legendary treasure hunt, joining forces with the swashbuckling captain Hunter Cabot (Antonio Banderas) along the way. Since family members tend to be huge hits for the streamer, don't be surprised to see this one haunting Netflix's top 10 list for the foreseeable future. Watch it now on Netflix "The Brutalist" chalked up an impressive 10 nominations at the 2025 Oscars, taking home awards for Best Original Score and Best Cinematography. Adrien Brody also secured his second Oscar, winning Best Actor for his powerful performance. While its 215-minute runtime may challenge some viewers' patience, this sweeping, mesmerizing drama justifies every moment. Now that it's on Max, it's easier to watch than ever. Though the commission ends badly and costs László his temporary home, it marks the beginning of his architectural legacy in the U.S. Watch it now on Max For something a little more breezy, "Novocaine" is a high-octane action movie that doesn't take itself seriously. Directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, it stars Jack Quaid of "The Boys" fame as Nathan Caine, a mild-mannered bank executive with a rare medical condition that leaves him unable to feel pain. It's an interesting quirk that's never proven particularly useful. That is, until one day when his co-worker (and secret crush) Sherry Margrave (Amber Midthunder) is taken hostage in a brutal bank heist. Thrust into a fight he never expected and driven by adrenaline, he leverages his rare condition as an unconventional superpower as he dives headfirst into an escalating conflict to save her. Jack Quaid gives a standout performance as Nathan, convincingly portraying his journey from an overlooked office drone to an unlikely hero. Also worth shouting out is Ray Nicholson's performance as Simon Greenly, the magnetic but unhinged gang leader behind the bank heist. Watch it now on Paramount Plus One of the biggest surprise horror hits of the decade has returned to Netflix. Though "Smile's" premise isn't entirely original (and I still think "It Follows" did it better), it delivers a haunting, slow-burning descent into paranoia that messes with your perception in all the right ways. "Smile" stars Sosie Bacon as Rose, a therapist at a psychiatric ward in New Jersey who finds herself the latest victim of a horrifying, trauma-related curse after a patient kills herself in front of her, smiling eerily all the while. Not long after, strange, inexplicable visions begin to creep into Rose's life until she becomes convinced that a malevolent force is stalking her. Her friends and family write off her fears as a sign of a mental breakdown, but it's clear the reality is much, much worse. As a relentless terror begins to consume her life, Rose must face the demons of her past to break free from her horrifying new present. It becomes a race against time to break the curse before she turns into its next smiling victim.
