Over 45 people hospitalised in Russia's Bryansk region after train accident: Governor
Moscow, June 1 (UNI) As a result of a train accident in Russia's Bryansk Region 47 people, including three children have been hospitalized, the region's governor Alexander Bogomaz said on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, Bogomaz said that a bridge had collapsed in the Vygonichsky district of the Bryansk region. As Moscow Railways reported, the locomotive and carriages of passenger train No. 86 from Klimov to Moscow derailed due to the collapse of the bridge span as a result of illegal interference in transport operations.
"As of 8:00 [05:00 GMT], 47 people, including three children injured in the Vygonichsky District have been hospitalised. Three of them, including one child, are in critical condition," Bogomaz said on Telegram.
All passengers were immediately delivered to hospitals, and an eight-months old baby in critical condition will be transported to Moscow, the governor said, adding that there were no children among the seven people who have died in the accident.
Overall, there were 388 passengers on board when the accident happened, the governor specified. He also noted that all emergency services were working in unison during the accident.
Meanwhile, Bogomaz believes that the bridge was blown up. Russian Senator Andrei Klishas believes that blowing up of the bridge indicates that Ukraine is currently governed by a terrorist group.
Emergency services also told Sputnik that fragments of the collapsed bridge fell on the locomotive and two head cars. In addition to that, the emergency services said that at the time of the accident three automobiles could be on the bridge.

Patna High Court refuses to grant relief to student in MBBS impersonation case
Patna, June 02 (UNI) Patna High Court on Monday refused to grant any interim relief to Arvind Kumar, a student of MBBS of Government Medical College, Bettiah facing the charge of arranging for another student to appear on his behalf in the third year examination of the College. Justice Parthasarti of the Court, while hearing a petition of Arbind Kumar, refused to entertain his plea of granting relief. Instead, the Court accepted the plea of government pleader Prashant Pratap that impersonation was a serious issue and Arbind did not deserve any mercy as it could pose a serious threat to public health security. " New generation of the society will suffer the most in medical care if such a student who himself can not clear the examination and arrange for another student to appear on his behalf in third year MBBS examination of the medical college ", Pratap pointed out and added that petitioner himself had admitted in his petition that he had utilised the services of another student to appear on his behalf in the examination of third year of ENT. On the other hand, Ramchandra Singh, counsel of the petitioner, urged the Court to allow Arbind to appear in the next examination for MBBS. He pleaded that some students of the Medical College were granted relief in a similar case, as Aryabhatta Knowledge University had not filed its reply in the case. The Court directed the Vice Chancellor of Aryabhatta Knowledge University to file a reply in the case and fixed June 20, 2025, as the next date of hearing. The Court also directed the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department of the Bihar government to inform the Vice Chancellor of the University to file a reply in the case, as counsel for the University was not present in the Court. Admission of four students was cancelled by the College in the same case, but they got relief as Aryabhatta Knowledge University had failed to reply in the case. An FIR was filed against Arvind by the Examination Controller of the University for arranging for another student to appear on his behalf in third third-year examination of ENT of the college. TN CCW conducts Pan India Operation Hydra, 7 arrested
Chennai, June 2 (UNI) In significant breakthrough, the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing Police conducted a Pan-India Operation HYDRA and arrested seven cyber criminals involved in major cybercrime cases across India. Multiple teams were sent to states like Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Assam, and Delhi. With this concerted effort, accused persons in connection with organized cyber fraud operations, including matrimonial fraud, phishing scams, and scholarship scam were successfully apprehended, a release from Cyber Crime division, Headquarters said on Monday. A complaint pertained to online investment fraud through matrimonial sites has been registered at the State Cyber Crime Investigation Centre (SCCIC). Victims were lured through fake matrimonial profiles and fraudulent investment schemes promising high returns. Once trust was established, the victims were coerced into transferring large sums under false pretense. Based on technical evidence and financial trail analysis, Mohd Daoud (21) and Mohd Vaseem (34) from Jaspur, Uttarakhand were arrested on May 28. Both had played a direct role in facilitating mule bank accounts used in laundering proceeds of the scam. They have been remanded to judicial custody and further investigation is underway to trace other co-accused and beneficiaries. In another case registered at SCCIC, involves a phishing and impersonation scam, the victim received a call from an individual impersonating an ICICI bank customer care executive. The fraudster sent a fake APK file via WhatsApp under the guise of updating KYC details. After installation, the victim unknowingly granted access to sensitive personal and banking data, including PAN and debit card details. Subsequently, the accused initiated a fraudulent personal loan transaction and siphoned off a total of Rs. 4,05,100 from the victim's account. A special team tracked and arrested Pankaj Kumar (40) from Jharkhand on May 30, Hiteswar Biswas @ Hitu (30) from Hojai, Assam the next day, and Nihar Ranjan Nath (51) from Nagaon, Assam on Sunday, June 1. These individuals were found to be part of a wider syndicate facilitating fraudulent digital lending transactions and mule accounts. In a scholarship scam complaint, registered at Thanjavur Cyber Crime Police Station, wherein students were targeted under the false promise of receiving government aid for education. The fraudsters collected personal details and small payments as 'processing fees,' then disappeared. The case was registered and investigation led to the arrest of main accused Preeti Nicholas (30) and Meshach (19), both from Northeast Delhi, on June 1. Keeping the huge number of scholarship scams, so far 9 accused were arrested from Delhi related to the scam in the past 2 months. Both were found to be involved in collecting student data and facilitating the creation of forged digital documents to support the fraudulent scheme. During investigation, multiple incriminating digital and financial evidence were seized from the seven arrested accused. This included 35 bank accounts and 6 mobile numbers and 2 mobile phones connected to various fraudulent operations have been seized and secured for further forensic analysis.
