NASCAR News: Jimmie Johnson's Team Sues Former Ally, Accuses ex-spire Exec of NASCAR Sabotage
According to the team, Puchyr intervened and disrupted the deal they had with Rick Ware Racing to buy one of their charters in the Cup Series.
At the center of the issue is Charter №27, which Legacy says they agreed to buy from RWR for 2026. RWR says the deal was for 2027 and the charter is already leased to RFK Racing next year.
Legacy sued RWR in April and now they've added Puchyr to the lawsuit, claiming he used his inside knowledge to block their deal after he bought RWR himself.

What Sparked the Second Lawsuit
Puchyr was the one who set up the agreement between Legacy Motor Club and Rick Ware Racing. Then he changed his mind and tried to buy RWR for himself. Legacy says he intentionally ruined their plans using his inside position, calling his behavior unfair and hurtful to their team's progress. Now they're going to court to ask the judge to stop him for good and for damages.
Puchyr disagrees. 'If anybody deserves a pass, it is Jimmie. And if he wants to sit down and talk about it like men, I'd entertain the conversation. I don't think Jimmie has all the facts, doesn't understand the deal we had, and they tried to humiliate Rick publicly. We don't do business that way.'
Jimmie Johnson, who returned to NASCAR as a team co-owner in 2023 and occasionally drives, isn't enjoying the legal drama. 'It's a big game of chess, and I'm watching all the strategy that goes into it all. I would love to see a settlement of some kind. I really don't think that getting into a knock-down, drag-out lawsuit is good for anybody,' he told reporters.
This is one of several charter lawsuits going on in NASCAR right now. 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports have filed suits against NASCAR themselves as teams try to protect their spot on the grid and their share of the pie.
What happens in this case will have big implications for future charter deals as team ownership and long-term planning gets more competitive across the series.

Merab Dvalishvili a lock for 2025 Fighter of the Year? UFC analyst explains why he isn't
Outside of UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili, Chael Sonnen still sees several fighters in the running to be Fighter of the Year. Dvalishvili (20-4 MMA, 13-2 UFC) is currently one of the frontrunners for 2025 Fighter of the Year after title defenses over Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 311 in January and a finish of Sean O'Malley at UFC 316 in June. Dvalishvili won the "Best UFC Fighter" at the most recent ESPYs last month, but Sonnen isn't ready to give him the Fighter of the Year award just yet. "Fighter of the Year is going to be very tough," Sonnen told MMA Junkie. "It's very tough. Merab has done a very good job, but to get in front of Ilia (Topuria)? There's a buzz around Ilia that's almost unlike anything I ever felt. (Khamzat) Chimaev is going to be of interest. Should Alex Pereira come back and get it over (Magomed) Ankalaev. No, Merab doesn't have it locked up. A lot of that list comes down to popularity, which Merab has now. "That dude is a star. I was at International Fight Week. The mobs and the crowd, they mobbed everyone through there. Dana (White) himself got more, but for active fighters, the crowd and the interest, Merab could not move around. He is over. He is very popular, and people are going to vote for him. But no, activity alone, no, it will not get you Fighter of the Year." Dvalishvili, who is currently scheduled to defend his belt against Cory Sandhagen (18-5 MMA, 11-4 UFC) in the UFC 320 co-main event on Oct. 4 in Las Vegas, has plans of squeezing one more title defense before the end of the year. "That's very impressive (if he can get a fourth title defense in 2025)," Sonnen said. "Those stats do matter. Any time you're setting history, it moves you to the front of the list. Merab is a wonderful person. That's a nice man behind all this. One thing that takes fighters off their perch quickly is when they start believing what's being said about them. They go to practice a little less. You don't meet better people as you become bigger and better in life. You meet a higher quality scumbag. ... It doesn't seem like Merab is falling for any of that. He's in Las Vegas, which is a very difficult place to not meet a lot of scumbags. He seems very focused. He seems to know who he is. He seems to be still be hungry. I think he deserves credit for that. I think one thing that would help Merab is if people got to know him more. "He really is a kind gentleman. You can't say that about a lot of fighters. Most of them are scumbags, too. He's in a different category. I only bring that up because of his popularity and where it could go. If people simply get to know him, if he finds a way to get his message out, he comes across what he is, which is very nice, but he's so nice that people think it's an act. But it's not. So if he does a little bit more time, I would love to see Merab coach 'The Ultimate Fighter.' ... I think that kind of exposure where people got him in the living room every day, I think Merab has the potential to be the top draw in the sport. That's a big claim for a 135 pounder. International Flavors and Fragrances beats quarterly revenue, profit estimates
(Reuters) -International Flavors and Fragrances topped Wall Street estimates for second-quarter revenue and profit on Tuesday, driven by resilient demand, higher prices and a shift to better-margin businesses. The company has streamlined its portfolio as choppy demand in some food and beauty markets forced its customers to hold leaner inventories. On Tuesday, the company, which disposed of its pharma solutions business earlier this year, said it would sell its soy crush, concentrates, and lecithin unit to U.S. grain trader and processor Bunge Global. IFF did not disclose financial terms but said the operations generated about $240 million in revenue in 2024. The company posted net sales of $2.76 billion for the quarter ended June 30, beating estimates of $2.70 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG. Its adjusted profit of $1.15 per share also topped expectations of $1.12. Advance purchases by packaged food and beauty companies looking to beat higher prices due to tariffs also boosted sales at IFF in the reported quarter. "We remain on track to deliver our 2025 commitments we outlined earlier this year, even as the operating environment has become more challenging," said CEO Erik Fyrwald. IFF's shares were up nearly 5% in extended trading. They have fallen about 16% so far this year. The New York-headquartered company maintained its annual sales and adjusted core profit targets.
