'They going to eat you alive': Deion Sanders leaves Colorado players in disbelief with brutal social media statement before 2025 season (Image Via Google) Deion Sanders sent a clear message to his Colorado players after watching a weekend scrimmage in Boulder, Colorado. On Saturday, August 17, 2025, the Colorado Buffaloes held an internal practice to get ready for the new NCAA season. Head coach Deion Sanders stood on the sideline and watched closely. Once the scrimmage ended, he walked into the locker room and told the players that their effort was not good enough. A video of his speech was shared the same day on X by ESPN College Football. Deion Sanders warns Colorado players social media hype won't protect poor effort in 2025 opener Deion Sanders was not happy with what he saw during the practice and did not hide his disappointment. In the video posted on Saturday from Boulder, Deion Sanders said, 'If you perform like you performed in that scrimmage, they going to eat you alive.' He added, 'Disconnect your social media,' telling the players that online fans will not help them when real games begin. Colorado now has more than 1.1 million followers on Instagram, over 300,000 on X, and 460,000-plus on Deion Sanders made it very clear that hype is useless if the team does not perform on the field. Konstas signs 4-year contract extension with Sydney Thunder
Sydney: Australia teen star Sam Konstas has signed a four-year extension (inclusive of BBL 15) that will keep him at Sydney Thunder until at least the end of Big Bash League (BBL) 18, the club announced on Tuesday. At just 19 years of age, Konstas already boasts a record-breaking Big Bash debut, an Under-19 World Cup winner's medal, and a maiden Baggy Green earned during last summer's Border-Gavaskar series. His Thunder debut last summer was nothing short of spectacular, blasting 56 runs off 27 balls to set a new club record for the fastest half-century and become the youngest player in BBL history to reach the milestone. Konstas said the new deal is still as surreal as his first contract. "I remember being a fan in the stands watching my heroes like Davey [Warner], Michael Hussey and Andre Russell play for Thunder, so to extend for another four seasons is very exciting,' Konstas said. "Batting with Davey [Warner] last season was a great learning opportunity for me because he's very strategic in the way that he goes about things. I felt like I had a lot of clarity and freedom to play my game. "We've got an exciting group again which now includes Shadab (Khan)... I feel like this is the year we're going to dominate," he added. Sydney Thunder general manager Trent Copeland said Konstas' commitment was a major statement for the club's future. 'This contract extension is one of the easiest decisions we've made. This time last year he hadn't played a BBL match, and to go from that to breaking records on debut – alongside his growth across other formats – shows just how far he's come. 'This deal is huge in terms of tenure, and we see it as part of a journey that will hopefully make him a Thunder player for life. 'This extension not only rewards Sam's progression and his lifelong love of the club, but also tells our fans that when we have talent, we're going to do our best to keep them in Thunder colours," Copeland said.

Rain washes out Brewers-Cubs nightcap, doubleheader pushed to Tuesday
The Milwaukee Brewers opened their five-game series in Chicago with a dominant 7-0 win over the Cubs in the first game of Monday's scheduled doubleheader before the nightcap was washed out by rain. The postponed game will now be part of a split doubleheader Tuesday, with contests set for 2:20PM ET and 8:05PM ET. Freddy Peralta (15-5) anchored the Brewers' victory, throwing six shutout innings while allowing just one hit, striking out six, and walking three. The win marked his third straight start and extended his career-best win total. Brice Turang and Caleb Durbin powered the offense with solo home runs, each finishing with two RBIs. Joey Ortiz added two hits, an RBI, and a run scored, while Sal Frelick chipped in with two hits and two runs. He exited in the third inning after developing a blister on his pitching hand, leaving after 2 2/3 innings in which he allowed one run on four hits. Turang broke the deadlock with a solo homer in the third, and after Horton's exit, Milwaukee steadily pulled away. Live Events Durbin added a 419-foot blast in the fifth for a 2-0 advantage, and the Brewers capitalized on Chicago's shaky bullpen in the late innings. Reliever Luke Little's wild throw in the sixth gifted another run, and in the eighth, Gavin Hollowell issued three straight walks before Ortiz and Turang delivered run-scoring singles. Two more runs followed via a fielder's choice and a wild pitch, capping the rout at 7-0. With the victory, Milwaukee extended its lead in the NL Central to nine games over Chicago. Tuesday's doubleheader will feature Chad Patrick against Cubs ace Matthew Boyd in Game 1, and Brandon Woodruff against Jameson Taillon, returning from injury, in Game 2.
