EastEnders stars tease Joel's downfall as 'trouble' ahead in 'big' new storyline

Daily Mirrora day ago

EastEnders cast members Shane Richie and Sophie Khan Levy have both hinted there could be twists and turns when teenager Joel Marshall's sickening actions are exposed
There could be a downfall set for EastEnders teen Joel Marshall, who has been at the centre of some dark scenes recently.
The son of Ross Marshall only arrived weeks ago, but he's already targeted one teenage girl with a sex tape filmed without her consent, while it was also revealed something happened with a girl while he was living in Australia. It was said to involve an inappropriate image, and it led to Joel having to flee while he also owed someone money in a bid to pay the girl's family off.

It was clear Joel had not changed though, recently isolating Avani Nandra-Hart from her friends before sleeping with her, only to record her without telling her. He showed the video to pal Tommy Moon, while Avani has been trolled over sleeping with Joel - but the video is yet to emerge.

Amid this, Joel has been leading Tommy astray, and recent scenes saw the latter being introduced to pornography by the bad influence. Joel appears to have some worrying views and thoughts about girls, with fans fearing what's ahead for the character and Tommy amid a shocking assault in upcoming scenes.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, two stars somewhat involved in the ongoing storyline have teased "trouble" on the way and a "big storyline" ahead. There's also hints of what could happen if Avani's parents find out about the sickening video, with a revenge teased.

Actress Sophie Khan Levy who plays Avani's mother Priya on the BBC hope hinted that if the truth does get revealed, Priya and ex Ravi may take revenge on Joel, suggesting they'd go "crazy" at the teen. Meanwhile, Shane Richie, who plays Tommy's father Alfie Moon, has also promised more drama ahead.
He addressed a huge storyline on the way that was just about to kick off, and hinted it could be linked to Tommy and Joel. While he didn't confirm this, the timings would certainly match up.
Shane said: "There is more trouble ahead and while I was away there was a lot filmed. Sonny who plays Tommy texted me saying, 'Shane, I'm doing this and that'. It's great. It's big stuff."

As for Sophie, she spilled on Ravi and Priya's likely reaction: "I really don't know. I think I can imagine them two going crazy. After what she was like with Jack Branning... that was an awful moment for Avani.
"Priya and Ravi are both quick to get angry so who knows what Joel will face when they find out. We'll have to see!" Shane also teased big scenes ahead as he addressed Ben Wadey replacing Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw.
He shared with us: "There have been a lot of positive changes and everyone's really embracing it. Everyone worries when you change Executive Producer but the handover has been brilliant. Chris and Ben are such big fans of the show and that's important.
"Ben has already told me what is ahead. There's a lot of fireworks, there always are. There's a story that's about to kick in which will carry on through til after Christmas, an it's a big story. You thought the 40th was big, wait until you see this story that's all I'm saying."

Zoe Ball joins forces with family for brand-new 'fascinating' series

Radio 2 star Zoe Ball could be fronting a brand-new factual series with a few of her family members in the near future BBC Radio 2 star Zoe Ball has been eyeing up a new role with a few of her family members for a brand-new 'fascinating and revealing' programme. Broadcaster and presenter Zoe, 54, has previously appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with her DJ son Woody Cook, so working with family isn't new to her. And now, it has been announced that Zoe and her son Woody will hopefully be joining her presenter father, Johnny Ball, on his new factual series about mathematics. The new show will be exploring the "history of maths" and will be based on the first six chapters of his book, Wonders Beyond Numbers. ‌ ‌ Speaking to The Sun, Johnny - who is hoping to convince TV bosses to commission the series - explained: "The material can be honed down to the essentials, so that anyone could present it in a light and transparent way. 'This is why I believe myself, Zoe and my grandson Woody could add all what each age group requires to make it a fascinating and revealing series.' Meanwhile, in early May, Zoe returned to radio just five months after quitting her beloved show. The radio DJ left her much-loved breakfast show last year, with her pal Scott Mills taking over, leaving her fans devastated by the shock departure. She had fronted her show for six years, but admitted it was time to "start a new chapter". Her decision came just months after her extended absence from the BBC during the summer following her mother's death. ‌ After bursting into tears on her final show, she made a comeback in the first week of May. Zoe returned with a bang on her new afternoon show as she played a few of her favourite songs and talked to the listeners. Introducing her new segment, she said: "Hello it's me, oh it's lovely to be back on a Saturday. "This is where it all began for me back when I used to sweep up and make the teas." One viewer was delighted with her return an wrote to her: "Great to have you back, Saturday afternoon is much better than having to wake up early." ‌ The radio presenter read a few messages from fans and said: "It is lovely to be here, thanks for all your messages." The BBC previously teased on their website that Zoe's new show will feature "the best songs and chat for a Saturday".

She and Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) then pointed the finger of suspicion at Cain (Jeff Hordley) when they revealed to the police that he'd beaten up Nate the day he died, but quick to deflect from his new uncle-in-law, John (Oliver Farnworth) dumped Nate's phone in Tracy's house and allowed the detectives to find it. A panicked Tracy gave the police an alibi, which was a complete lie and implicated Vanessa by saying she'd been with her the whole day of Nate's disappearance. But it unravelled quickly when Vanessa confessed the truth to protect her own skin – that they were nowhere near each other that day.
