Packed with hilarious characters, playful chaos, and a full set of catchy original tunes performed live, this 'very Kiwi' comedy is perfect for tamariki ages 3+—and guaranteed fun for the grown-ups who bring them.

How Does She Manage It? Fringe Festival Favourite Returns To Wellington
Fearless performer and maverick of the stage, Eliza Sanders, blew Wellingtonians away with her a revolutionary fusion of contemporary dance, cine-theatre, and quirky comedy at the New Zealand Fringe Festival in 2024. Now, after both national and international success, Manage Your Expectation returns for a very limited return season at Wellington's Circa Theatre from 16 -20 September 2025. Manage Your Expectations transforms contemporary performance through an ingenious combination of live cinema, whimsical humour, and profound physical storytelling. The work begins in the increasingly-popular style of comic performance lecture (think Hannah Gadsby's Nanette). Clownish antics and personal storytelling set up the work's second half which is brimming with evocative moments of moving image on stage and screen. Each vivid scene addresses a universal concept of human relationships: Partners, Children, Ancestors, Self and Death. ' This is Eliza's most sophisticated and nuanced piece of choreography and image-making. It's the most accessible piece of dance-led theatre we've made." says Allanah. The work has already garnered major recognition, taking home awards for Outstanding Solo Performance at NZ Fringe 2024 and Best Performer at Whangārei Fringe 2024, as well as seven award nominations in the same year, most notably Best In Fringe and Most Innovative Work (NZ Fringe) and Most Original Production at the Wellington Theatre Awards. Manage Your Expectations holds a lens up to live performance, through an ingenious combination of comedic storytelling, hypnotising live-feed cinematography, and profound movement. The simplicity of the setup - one solo performer, a camera, a screen and you, the audience - strikes awe and deep personal resonance with the audience. Movement, multimedia, and razor-sharp wit combine to examine the impossibility of perfect communication, musing on the influence of context, identity and personal history while creating something beautiful from our collective mess. First Line-Up Announced Formānuka Phuel Synthony Festival 2026

(New Zealand, Thursday 7 August) Duco Events has today revealed the first wave of artists set to take the stage at Mānuka Phuel SYNTHONY Festival, returning to the Auckland Domain on Saturday 21 March 2026. The line-up features both local and international acts Faithless (Full Live Band) (UK), SYNTHONY No. 7, Peking Duk (Australia), Hot Dub Time Machine (Australia), The Black Seeds and The Exponents. Leading the charge is iconic British electronic dance act Faithless (Full Live Band), returning to perform in New Zealand for the first time in over two decades and playing their first live shows in eight years. With a 25-year legacy, 20 million album sales, 10 Top 10 singles and streams nearing one billion, Faithless are true festival royalty. Kiwi fans can expect an electrifying live set packed with classics like Insomnia, God Is A DJ and We Come 1, alongside powerful new material that marks an exciting new chapter for the band. This long-awaited return to the stage is a celebration of dance music's golden era, complete with abstract visuals, immersive lightscapes and laser-led moments that promise a full sensory experience. Also on the line-up is ARIA Award-winning electronic duo Peking Duk, made up of music producers Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles. They first broke out in 2012 with a Passion Pit bootleg, and cemented their place in the scene with their 2014 smash 'High', which went triple platinum and won Best Dance Release at the ARIA Awards. Known for their huge energy and genre-blending sound, Peking Duk continue to dominate stages at festivals like Australia's Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, and Spilt Milk, and now – Mānuka Phuel SYNTHONY Festival! The 2026 festival will mark the global premiere of SYNTHONY No.7 – featuring a brand-new set list created exclusively for next year's event. Festivalgoers will experience multiple tracks that have never been performed at any SYNTHONY show in its eight-year history, all reimagined with Auckland Philharmonia conducted once again by Sarah-Grace Williams. Known for their infectious grooves and boundary-crossing fusion of funk, dub, soul and roots-reggae, Wellington's The Black Seeds are set to join the stage at Mānuka Phuel SYNTHONY Festival next year. Also on the lineup are beloved Kiwi band, The Exponents! The band will reunite exclusively for this festival, marking their first Auckland performance in three years. The final act in the initial lineup announcement is Australian party-starter Hot Dub Time Machine, known for his epic decade-spanning sets. Hot Dub is a main stage regular at festivals all over the world, including Europe's legendary Tomorrowland, Benicassim, and Coachella in the USA. This first release offers just a taste of what's to come, with more local and international acts to be revealed later this year. The 2025 edition of Mānuka Phuel SYNTHONY Festival saw a sold-out crowd of 40,000 descend on Auckland Domain, with a $1.8 million production and 2,000-strong working crew. You've heard The Exponents at the pub, by the beach and during every summer BBQ – but the Kiwi rockers will sound completely different when they reunite for the Mānuka Phuel Synthony Festival in March. The Why Does Love Do This To Me hitmakers will perform in Auckland's Domain on March 21 as part of the one-day festival, where bands reimagine their music with the help of an orchestra. It will be The Exponents' first Auckland show in three years. 'We are so looking forward to getting back together to play at Synthony in the Domain',' a statement from the band says. 'We have watched this event get bigger by the minute and are honoured to have been asked to be part of it. Bring your picnic, and more importantly, your voice. We're going to be on fire.' The Exponents will play at Synthony Festival 2026. Frontman Jordan Luck and crew join the lineup alongside international acts including Faithless, Peking Duk, Hot Dub Time Machine and local favourites The Black Seeds. More acts will be announced closer to the festival.
