Boden's Cropped Double Cloth Trousers have been reduced by 50% in the brand's summer sale and are available in a range of colours and prints - but some shoppers have been left disappointed
Boden shoppers have been rushing to grab a half-price pair of trousers that have been slashed from £69 to just under £35. The Cropped Double Cloth Trousers feature a summery blue and white striped design and are crafted from a breathable 100% cotton fabric that's perfect for warm weather.
The trousers hit just above the ankle in a flattering length that's effortless to style with sandals, ballet flats, or trainers. Boasting relaxed loose-fit legs and a comfortable shirred elasticated waist, they're as practical as they are stylish.
The trousers are offered in UK sizes 6-22 and also arrive in a classic white, pink, and blue amongst other shades. Boden customers have been singing the praises of the Cropped Double Cloth Trousers online.
One purchaser said: "I have these trousers in three different colours. The elasticated waist is on the tight side but I don't find them uncomfortable and I love the look and feel of them. They look smart and don't crease. I would recommend."
Another person commented: "Perfect length just above my ankle. The waistband is soft and broad, elasticated for joyous comfort. The colour is a beautiful navy with a brightness that gives a definite blue. Crinkle fabric finish is so summery."
Alternative trousers with an elasticated waist available to purchase now include New Look's Black Wide Leg Trousers that arrive in an on-trend satin fabric that will transition well into autumn. They've been reduced from £33 to £15.
Another choice is Next's Wide Leg Jacquard Trousers which are on offer in an autumnal berry red shade or a versatile olive green for £38. They're available in three different lengths; short, regular and long, reports Yorkshire Live.
Whilst numerous reviewers adore the Boden Cropped Double Cloth Trousers, one noted: "I am about 5 foot 6 and these were full length on me! I bought some last year and they were cropped. Disappointing."
Others were quite pleased with the fit, with one commenting: "Lovely fit, works for smart and casual. Light and airy. Great waistband that is comfy and doesn't twist."
Another penned: "These pants are a dream. Fit so well, smooth out mid section, breezy, comfortable! Wear them all the time - dress up or down. Good most seasons."

Next's £25 'timeless' cardigan in autumnal colours is perfect for transitional weather

Next's knit cardigan has been described as 'timeless' and comes in 'beautiful autumnal colours' that are perfect for transitioning into cooler weather With September drawing in closer and closer to us, Next has launched a new cardigan that's perfect for chilly summer evenings and the transition into autumn. Our team of shopping experts are impressed by the 'gorgeous autumnal shades' of the Threadbare Crew Neck Structured Knitted Cardigan - available in brown, black, red and green. Offered in sizes eight to 18, the £25 cardigan can be machine-washed and is crafted from a blend of 54% viscose, 28% polyester and 18% nylon. The cardigan features a ribbed crew neckline, long sleeves with ribbed cuffs, and a structured waist with a ribbed hem for a flattering fit that pairs great with jeans, skirts and even over dresses. It's the perfect piece to layer over summer outfits during chilly evenings, as well as wear under autumnal coats and jackets when the weather starts to get colder. For a more budget-friendly alternative, Marks and Spencer stocks a Crew Neck Button Front Cardigan for £19.50 in six shades, including raspberry, red, black, and pink. For those seeking pure indulgence, Boden offers the Eva Cashmere Crew Cardigan, priced at £139. It has nine colour options and an impressive 4.5-star rating from over 220 customers, reports Birmingham Live. As it's recently launched, the Next cardigan has received just three reviews so far, with one shopper commenting: "Feels soft and good quality. Thicker and warmer than I expected so have not worn it yet." Another customer remarked: "Nice cardigan, more suitable for colder weather, well made, reasonable price." However, one buyer was let down: "I thought the cardigan was really nice and fitted well, but did return, as the green colour was not for me in the end." We especially love the chocolate brown and rich burgundy shades for autumn, as they are two of the biggest colour trends for the new season.

Is It Time To Give The Divisive Jeans A Second Chance?

As part of my job, I spend hours scrolling through websites, tracking what's trending and what people are adding to their baskets. One morning, I stopped in my tracks - there they were again: M&S was selling a pair of jeggings with 11,870 reviews, a 4.4-star rating, and 75% of shoppers recommending them, already running low in stock. Jeggings defined a particular moment in fashion history. Picture this: Spring 2010, they were the skinny-fit staple you wore with a Chloé Paddington slung over your arm and an Alexander McQueen scarf looped around your neck. But while they promised the stretch of leggings with the look of jeans, many fell out of love with them because they weren't as comfortable as we hoped, never mind the the endless adjusting and inevitable elastane fatigue. But the day we never thought would come has arrived, and, now, they've been reimagined. Today's versions are softer, more sculpting, and cut from fabrics that lift and flatter, with elasticated high waistbands for ease. One M&S reviewer summed it up simply, saying they had 'waited for these to come back into stock' and that they love 'the fit'. According to Megan, a stylist at Silkfred, the jegging's enduring appeal comes from 'comfort and ease of movement while still giving you the streamlined look of denim.' She describes them as 'polarising' because they sit in the 'in-between space of jeans and leggings' and can instantly conjure memories of the early 2010s - the era of over-styled club looks, heavy eyeliner, and dodgy digital camera snaps. Still, she pointed out that for anyone who loves the feel of leggings and wants skinny silhouettes back in their wardrobe, jeggings are 'an incredibly practical option.' On whether we're seeing a genuine revival, Megan links the resurgence to fashion's wider knack for anything nostalgic, saying that with retailers like M&S reintroducing them, more brands are leaning into the late-2000sand early 2010s aesthetic. She doesn't expect them to dominate denim trends - 'we never saw a jegging on the runway' - but said the rise of comfort-first dressing and body-contouring styles is helping them find their audience again. While Megan believes jeggings will always carry a nostalgic edge, they can be rendered a classic style if worn in minimal ways. Her advice? 'They can look timeless when styled in a minimal, elevated way. Perhaps a dark indigo wash or black jeggings with a crisp, oversized shirt, a blazer, and pointed flats. The key is keeping the rest of the outfit simple and avoiding the over-styled early-2010s look we remember from their first heyday.' In short, jeggings may never reclaim their 2010 peak, but in fashion, no trend is ever truly gone for good. 1. M&S, Ultra High Ankle Leather Jeggings 2. M&S, High Waisted Jeggings Indigo Mix 3.
