BOIPATONG.- Boipatong FC and Young Pirates are first and second in the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywood Regional League log standings respectively.
These two sides played to a 3-3 draw in the exciting SAFA Sedibeng Hollywood Regional League during the Easter long weekend to consolidate their position on the log. This top-of-the-table encounter was played at the packed Boipatong Stadium, with local soccer fans packing the venue to capacity to watch this exciting encounter.
It was a six-goal thriller with both sides attacking each other from the first whistle to the last.

Roodepoort parkrun sees strong turnout
The Roodepoort parkrun was once again buzzing with enthusiasm on Saturday, May 18, as 444 runners and walkers gathered, awaiting the run director's signal to start the 5km run. This was event number 607 and saw 29 volunteers facilitating the event by directing participants, scanning barcodes and providing support and encouragement. The event drew an amazing 31 first-time runners, and as always, a whole host of participants celebrated the coveted parkrun milestones, including Tatum King, who completed her 10th; Vincent Joel and Helen Mittwoch with their 100th; and Sadiq Gordon with his 150th run. Desmond Campbell was also honoured on the honours board for his 200th parkrun alongside Gielie Nel with 300, and John Carstens closed off the board with 350. Also read: Easter fun at parkrun According to Pascal Simba, the ambassador for Roodepoort parkrun, a new initiative has been introduced by Discovery Vitality and the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture called Give2move, which kicked off on May 10 in celebration of World Move for Health Day. Young Pirates FC still on top
SEDIBENG.- The SAFA Sedibeng Hollywood Men Regional League defending champions, Young Pirates FC, maintained their lead at the top of the log. This is after they beat Mmabatho FC 3-0 over the weekend. Pirates have accumulated 81 points from the 31 games they played, with Boipatong FC hot on their heels with 79 points. It seems as if it is a two-horse race between these two teams, with just three points separating them. Boipatong FC put pressure on Pirates FC at the top after they beat 016 Magista 2-0 in another Hollywood Men Regional League match played at Boipatong Stadium over the weekend. As things stand, it seems as if the league champions will come from one of these two sides at the end of the season. They have been winning every game to maintain their lead at the top. VUT FC overtook Perfect Academy to occupy the third spot on the log with 74 points. Perfect Academy, which at one stage looked like were in charge at the top of the log at the beginning of the season, have since dropped to fourth place with 72 points.
