The Awakening: Kevin Spacey Joins Cast of New Conspiracy Thriller
Helmed by Matt Routledge, The Awakening has now added two-time Oscar winner Kevin Spacey to its cast in an undisclosed role.
Serving as the debut for Justin Tinto, the film will follow his character Jason and Alice Eve's Rebecca embark on a journey to debunk a conspiracy that threatens to alter the dynamics of the world. On their way to uncover the truth, the duo encounters a horde of roadblocks and secrets that force them to solve the mystery in a limited amount of time.
In addition to Stormare, Tinto, Eve, and Spacey, The Awakening stars Steve Berkoff, Julian Glover, Matt Hookings, and Eddie Hall, the former World's Strongest Man, in the supporting cast, as per Variety.
Meanwhile, Tinto and Routledge, along with Matt Hookings, have composed the screenplay for the forthcoming action thriller. Hookings also acts as the producer for The Awakening, alongside Tim Kent, with Tinto, Sally Woodward, Adrian Goodisman, and Pia Patatian serving as the executive producers. Furthermore, the movie is presently in its post-production phase.
Patatian's Cloud9 Studios has taken up the responsibility to initiate worldwide sales for The Awakening in Cannes. Talking about the renowned studio's impact on Routledge's feature, producer Kent noted, 'Filming our conspiracy thriller at the iconic Pinewood Studios added a unique layer of intrigue to the project. The studio's rich history of filmmaking, combined with our gripping narrative, has resulted in a film that we believe will resonate with audiences seeking thought-provoking and thrilling entertainment.'
While The Awakening will be one of the first major big-screen outings for Kevin Spacey in a long while, the movie has yet to receive an official release date schedule from its creators.

The Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed From Taylor Swift's New Album Announcement
Now entering her newest era, Taylor Swift doesn't simply announce albums — she orchestrates elaborate Easter egg hunts that weave breadcrumbs for her legion of eagle-eyed fans to follow. Her latest revelation, The Life Of A Showgirl, is no exception. Teased on an upcoming episode of her partner Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast, Swift's latest revelation arrived wrapped in layers of cryptic symbolism so intricate that even the most seasoned Swifties are still piecing together the puzzle. In an industry increasingly focused on viral moments over lasting impact, Swift's Easter egg mastery proves that mystery still matters. The Life Of A Showgirl may be her 12th studio album, but it feels like the opening act of something even bigger. Here are all of the Easter eggs you may have missed. The number twelve became Swift's calling card throughout this announcement: the countdown on her website ticked toward 12:12 AM on August 12. But Swift's numerical obsession runs deeper than surface-level symmetry. Eagle-eyed fans traced the podcast silhouette teased on the New Heights Instagram post back to her December 12, 2022 Variety interview, which itself connected to All Too Well: The Short Film's November 12, 2021 release. It's a breadcrumb trail spanning years. While Swift's connection to the number 12 are widely debated, it's a commonly held belief among her fans that it's a nod to her birthday, December 13, which obviously occurs in the twelfth month of the year. Eagle-eyed fans have spotted a connection between the moniker of Swift's upcoming album and a 2010 Audible book, Diary of a Showgirl. Per an official description, the audio book explores the story of Marjorie Orbin, a former Las Vegas showgirl, who just happens to also share a forename with Swift's maternal grandmother. Even her website transformation itself deserves particular attention. That glittering orange aesthetic wasn't arbitrary — orange has become Swift's visual shorthand for reinvention, previously appearing during her Reputation era's snake imagery and Lover's rainbow palette. That's not all: on the final night of her headline-making, billion dollar-making Eras Tour, Swift left the stage through the orange Karma door rather than descending underneath the stage as usual. The colour choice suggests The Life Of A Showgirl might bridge her darker, more theatrical periods with something entirely new. Taylor Nation's Instagram carousel proved equally deliberate. Those twelve carefully curated Eras Tour images weren't random fan service — they were a retrospective designed to prime audiences for what's next. The caption's reference to 'See you next era...' felt like Swift addressing her own artistic mortality, acknowledging that every era must eventually bow out for the next act to begin. Making the announcement on her partner's podcast elevated the unveiling from standard celebrity reveal to intimate family moment. Swift's choice to unveil her album on her boyfriend's platform nods to potentially a new chapter in her relationship with vulnerability. This isn't the guarded Swift of previous eras; this is an artist comfortable enough to let love infiltrate her professional narrative. By obscuring the album artwork while revealing the title, Swift also created a perfect metaphor for her artistic process by keeping some details crystal clear, others deliberately mysterious. Jason Kelce's gleeful screaming provided the perfect soundtrack to the moment, capturing the unbridled joy that Swift's announcements consistently generate among her fans. The shipping date Easter egg — October 13 with emphatic disclaimers about it not being the release date — feels like Swift training her audience in patience. In an era of instant gratification, she's teaching fans to savour anticipation and to appreciate delayed gratification. The number 13 also used to be Swift's go-to number that she'd wear on her hand during performances, although this appears now to have been swapped out for the number 12. See Taylor Swift's First Appearance On Travis Kelce's 'New Heights' Podcast
Taylor Swift is officially entering her new era and, in true Swift fashion, is doing things entirely her own way. Making her debut appearance on her partner Travis Kelce's podcast New Heights, Swift finally unveiled the moniker of her long-awaited 12th studio album, The Life Of A Showgirl. Swift's masterful marketing machine kicked into high gear on Monday night when her website transformed into a glittering orange spectacle, complete with a countdown timer ticking toward 12:12 AM on August 12. The numerical symbolism wasn't lost on devoted Swifties, who've learned to decode every easter egg the artist drops. Meanwhile, Taylor Nation flooded its Instagram account with a carousel of 12 carefully selected Eras Tour images, alongside the tantalising caption: 'Thinking about when she said "See you next era..."'. The easter eggs kept coming when Swift's appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast was announced for Wednesday, featuring a silhouette traced back to her December 12, 2022 Variety interview — connected to her All Too Well short film from November 12, 2021. When the countdown hit zero, Swift's website predictably crashed under the weight of millions of eager fans before re-booting with sparse details about the mysterious new project. While The Life of a Showgirl lacks an official release date, pre-orders indicate shipping by October 13, though Swift's team emphasises this isn't the actual release date. It was the star's appearance on her partner's podcast, however, that delivered the money shot: in a teaser clip Swift dramatically opens a briefcase to reveal a blurred vinyl while declaring, 'This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl,' as Jason Kelce's screams provided the perfect soundtrack to the moment. Swift's appearance on New Heights marks her debut podcast interview, with the podcast's official Instagram teaser showing Swift and Travis exchanging playful remarks where she complimented the colour of his blue hoodie, which he replied to with a sweet, 'It's the colour of your eyes, sweetie'. The video finished with Swift saying they were about to 'do a fucking podcast'. Even the clip length, a precise 13 seconds, was an Easter egg for those fluent in Swift's number lore. Swift continues to rewrite music industry records. With 200 million albums sold worldwide and the most number-one albums by any female artist in US history, she transformed her Eras Tour into a $2 billion (£1.5 billion) cultural phenomenon. Her previous release, The Tortured Poets Department, shattered Spotify streaming records and made Billboard history by monopolising the Hot 100's top 14 spots. The Life of a Showgirl promises another chapter in Swift's unprecedented reign. ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers.
