One hooded youth in a light blue body warmer even gives the impression that he is carrying a knife.
In the video's on-screen captions, James wrote: "A gang of lads kept touching my guitar.
"So I thought I'd put them on camera to stop them doing it again."
As one of the boys approaches again, James tells him: "You can touch if you want.
"I'll go on the TikTok Live and show everyone what you're doing."
He then turns the camera to the group, who beat a hasty retreat once they realise they are being filmed.
As they slink off, James asks the group: "Why are you hioding your faces? Do you want to touch my stuff again or what?"
James' friend Brad then tips him off that one of the boys, wearing a jeans and a sleeveless pukka jacket that partially covers his face, is coming back.
The intrepid busker goes to intercept the intruder - but it was only when reviewing the footage afterwards that he realised that the boy appeared to be reaching for what could be a knife.
As James writes in the caption: "It's only upon watching this back do I realise he's reaching for his pocket.
"Luckily I was able to grab his arms."

The boy then slaps James with what appears to be an open palm, before James wades in and clobbers the attacker, plus several of his friends who also try to defend their mate.
Several bystanders then step in to try and cool tensions.
As James wrote: "People step in to break it up, which is good for me because there was about five of them.
"People think they can just absue buskers and we won't defend ourselves."
The boy in the puffa jacket then aims a kick at James, who catches his foot and pulls him to the ground.
He then goes back to the mic and tells shoppers: 'I'm just trying to make a living, man. Do you know what I mean?'
West Yorkshire Police have been contacted for comment.
James posted the video on his social media accounts with the question: 'Was I right to defend myself?"
One Facebook user said: 'Sometimes gotta stand up to bullies.'
Another added said: 'Nice jabs mate…be careful though those little scabs will be back with knives.'
Meanwhile a commentator on TikTok said: "You know how embarrassing it is to try throw a kick but the guy grabs your leg and drops you."

Shock moment Brit is knocked out cold by sucker-punch in Benidorm after getting into argument with bouncers

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THIS is the terrifying moment a Brit is sucker-punched after getting into a row with Benidorm bouncers. Footage from Sunday night shows the lad being knocked to the ground as fellow holidaymakers rush to his aid. As tensions escalate, the man is seen being brutally punched in the face and falling to the ground, contorting one of his legs. The shocking clip then shows a woman in a pink cowboy hat rushing to the man's aid as a group of lads row with the security guards. According to one onlooker, the scuffle escalated when one man - who appeared to be a local - asked the other to leave the bar. They told the Mail Online: "It's always the d***head Brits - it makes you ashamed to be a Brit sometimes. "We'd been in there for two hours or so - it seemed a nice bar and all of a sudden we heard a bit of a commotion. "He was out cold, and his leg looked dislocated." The Brit's current condition remains unclear. This isn't the first time Spain has seen a bust up between revellers. Earlier this month, footage was released of two unruly Brits who started fighting each other in Tenerife while getting cheered on by immature yobs. Luckily one of the worried partygoers that stepped in to get Martin out of the pool was an army medic so knew to keep him still until an ambulance arrived. Martin, who works as a sales advisor, was then taken to a nearby hospital where docs gave him 16 stitches in his head and found that he had fractured his neck in three places and broken his back. He explained that the trip to Benidorm with his cousins was intended to have a break from being a busy single dad. The fight also comes just a month after two Brits were caught brawling in Tenerife. Chilling moment thieves steal car with wireless device in seconds as new doc reveals how Brit motors end up in Lithuania

Investigative reporter Matt Shea went undercover for Channel 4 Dispatches to shed light on organised criminal gangs specialising in car thefts. A sneak peek at the much-anticipated programme shows two car thieves demonstrating using keyless technology bought from the dark web. Footage shows the pair revealing to Shea exactly how they can steal a car in just 20 seconds. Thief 'T' and an accomplice demonstrated how they use an amplifier, which looks similar to a radio or walkie-talkie. It picks up the signal from the "key" inside a home and uses it to unlock a car parked outside. The device works by scrambling the signal from a remote key fob, and was used in nearly 60 percent of car thefts in the UK last year. After just a few seconds of holding the amplifier outside the window, the car door unlocked, allowing T to simply open the door and start up the engine. Once the engine had started, the accomplice could take the amplifier, jump in the car and they drove off, with the entire theft taking less than 20 seconds. Asked if they feel anything for the people they steal from they respond: 'These cars are insured, that's like, that a first world problem, you know, there's bigger s*** going on out there,. "Like your f***ng Range Rover's gone, boo-hoo, go and buy another one, man.' "The Teslas aren't easy, I don't think anyone's figured that out yet, because they are proper high tech' the thieves claim. Moment cops snare 'Rolex Ripper' gang after brazen watch thieves try to rob pair…only to find they're undercover police However, they brazenly boasted that others makes and models are easy to steal. The men claimed they have taken up to 20 vehicles a month for as much as £5,000 per car, depending on its value. They told Shea that up to 90 per cent of cars are broken down for their parts. Last year approximately 355 vehicles were stolen every day in England and Wales. The shocking finds equate to a stolen car every four minutes, and more than 70 per cent the amount stolen a decade ago. Freedom of Information requests to police forces in England and Wales also reveal that – for the 18 forces who responded - only 3.4 per cent of reports of a car being stolen between 2020 and 2024 led to someone being charged or summonsed. In the documentary, criminals revealed how highly organised gangs stole cars, dismantling them at so called 'chop shops' before shipping them out of the country to Eastern Europe. The programme reveals how a blue Audi A4, fitted with a hidden tracker, was stolen from a woman's driveway in north London on March 15. The car's GPS signal showed the Audi moving east towards the borough of Enfield and then switching off. Five weeks later, the tracker suddenly reappeared in Kaunas, Lithuania, and was tracked to a business in the outskirts of the city called Baltic Car Trade. Dispatches filmed the police raid on the property, but instead of finding a blue Audi A4, all they found that was left of the vehicle was a bunch of wires. The car, like many stolen off British streets, was long gone having been torn apart. 5 One Audi A4 tracker was found in Lithuania with the car long gone Credit: Channel 4 Dispatches

Belfast hairdresser married to US-born husband faces deportation after being detained by immigration officers: ‘He's got no rights whatsoever'

Edward Lee Stinton, known as Lee, was initially subjected to a traffic stop by police in Key West — part of the Florida Keys — while cycling on his way to work at a hair salon. However, officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) soon detained him for not having his immigration documents at hand despite possessing the proper papers, according to his father. Belfast-born Lee (46) was transported almost four hours to a Miami detention centre housing a host of other ICE detainees where he has been left in limbo awaiting the outcome of his residency. The former British Hairdresser of The Year left his home for Florida over six years ago after marrying his US-born husband. His father, Edward, told Good Morning Ulster that Lee was on a working visa at the time and was on track to receive a Green Card. 'Last Thursday, we heard something went wrong,' Edward explained. 'He was going to work as normal on Thursday on his e-bike and he went through or, didn't go through — we're not sure of that yet — a stop sign. Edward continued by saying that Lee did not have his immigration papers on him and was subsequently transferred to Krome Detention Centre, where he has been held for almost a week. 'He's a vegan — he hasn't had food from last Thursday, he sleeps on a cold hard floor, no washing no change of clothes — his mum's out of her mind. 'They won't tell [his attorney] how long he'll be there. If they find they're going to deport him — it's a holding centre, not a processing centre — they will send him to Texas to process him and then deport him. 'The silliest part about it [according to] his solicitor is that he could be deported, sent back home to here, there's a certain form you can fill in from here and you can go straight back to the US straight away.' The 46-year-old is a 'valued member' of the Key West community, according to a petition set up by locals to campaign for Lee's release. The petition said he has been 'earning the trust and respect of colleagues, customers, and supervisors and has been a tax-paying member of the community since 2019'. It adds that Lee's detention has 'caused significant hardship to his family, friends, and our community. As residents of Key West, we rely on each other for support, and the absence of Lee has left a noticeable gap in our daily lives. Lee poses no danger to our community and has no criminal history.' Lee is one of tens of thousands detained by immigration authorities following Donald Trump's vow to deport millions of undocumented migrants from the US. Around 51,000 migrants believed to be undocumented have been brought into ICE detention centres as of early June, with even some of the most high-profile US inhabitants being arrested. Among those detained have been New York City's mayoral candidate Brad Lander and one of the world's biggest TikTok stars, Khaby Lame. Elaine Stinton, Lee's mum, who 'can barely get through the day', voiced her concerns as she awaits a decision from US immigration officials. She said: 'He's got no rights whatsoever. He has no food, he can't wash himself, he can't get changed. You wouldn't treat an animal like that.'
