Eurovision 2025 Semi-Finals: Schedule, lineups, how and where to watch
The first semi-final of the
Eurovision Song Contest 2025
began in Switzerland's Basel on Tuesday, May 13. A total of 37 countries are performing in the two-part semi-finals, with the next one scheduled for Thursday, May 15. According to BBC, the top 10 countries from each of the two semi-finals will reach the Eurovision Grand Final, which will take place on Saturday, May 17.
In the highly-anticipated finals, a total of 26 countries will perform, looking forward to the
Eurovision 2025
champion. Among these are the Big Five nations -- France, Germany, Italy, the UK, and Spain. They already have a guaranteed spot in the finals. Apart from them, host country Switzerland is also up in competition due to Nemo's victory during last year's event.

Eurovision 2025: First semi-final schedule
The first semi-finals went underway at 8 PM (local time) on May 13. It is on iPlayer and BBC One as well as Radio 2 and BBC Sounds. Three among them (Italy, Spain and Switzerland) are automatically qualified for the finals round.
Eurovision 2025: Second Semi-Final order
The second semi-final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will be from 8 PM onwards on May 15.

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) Director Chandra Mouli Mallampalli's short documentary "Searching for Choti" was screened at the Ecoreels Film Festival 2025, held in New Delhi from June 6 to 8. The film, which was screened on June 7, offers a soulful meditation on India's rapidly disappearing wildlife and human stories entwined within it. The narrative follows Subhash Behera and Mallampalli as they set out in pursuit of one of India's rarest and least understood wild felines, fishing cats, one of the rarest wild cats of India. The story of the film also shows why it is important to maintain balance with nature. Internationally recognised, the film won Best Short Film Award in the 'Nature and Wildlife' category at the International Motion Picture Awards (Canada). Cinematographer Giridhar Nayak's lens captures the essence of the Chilika Lake region in haunting, poetic frames. Talking about 'Searching for Choti' Mallampalli shared, 'This film looks at how wetlands like Chilika support both wildlife and local communities and how that balance is now at risk. With less freshwater and a rise in intensive farming, the landscape is changing.' Revealing his motive behind the drama, the director added, 'Through this film, I hope to highlight how protecting wetlands and communities goes hand in hand.' Mallampalli's fascination with nature and wildlife began in childhood and he has consistently sought to tell compelling stories rooted in ecological reality. He started his career by working at places like National Geographic and BBC, where he got the inspiration to make films based on true stories. Mallampalli and Nayak have also collaborated on another documentary, Mandala, directed by Nayak and produced by Mallampalli, which explores human-snake conflict and snakebite deaths along Maharashtra's Konkan coast. A few Twitter users also commented that the man with Clarkson was Tom Cruise, 'looking younger.' Sine not-so-bright Aussies asked Clarkson to keep Cummins on the farm, because he was 'woke'. English fans, dreading an Ashes peppering later in the year, requested Clarkson to push him into the bull ring and other assorted sabotage techniques, all in good humour though. Hopefully.

Sidhu Moosewala's father writes to Mumbai Police to stop the proposed screening of a documentary about his son on June 11
Bathinda: The father of slain Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala has called on Mumbai Police to block the public screening of a BBC documentary about his son's murder, alleging it could compromise the ongoing trial and infringe upon the family's rights. Balkaur Singh, father of the late artist — whose real name was Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu — has filed formal complaints with the Mumbai Police commissioner and Juhu police station, urging authorities to stop the screening scheduled for June 11 at Soho House, Juhu. The event, organised by the BBC World Service, is being advertised as an "investigative documentary" that claims to reveal hidden details about Moosewala's killing. Moosewala's father has also expressed concern that the film includes "unauthorised and unpublished" material, including private testimonies and sensitive information related to his son's life and death. He writes in his complaint that the documentary uses Moosewala's name, image and personal history without family consent, and could prejudice the ongoing murder trial.
