Stockton community helps send young cancer survivor to his first-ever Raiders game
A 12-year-old cancer survivor and huge Las Vegas Raiders fan is on his way to his first-ever game this weekend thanks to helping hands from the Stockton community. Junior Aguilar was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, a little under a year ago. "I think it made us even closer because it hit us hard," said mom Jessica Barkett. "To finally be over, and have it be done, it's a blessing." Now, he's gearing up for a trip to Vegas to see the silver and black and to celebrate his recent birthday. Andy Coronado and his team set everything up, calling on the Raiders and the Raider Bus to honor Aguilar for his fight. It wasn't only a surprise for him, but also for the entire family. Aguilar will be front row on Saturday for the Raiders' preseason match against their former Bay Area rival, the San Francisco 49ers. "The surprise is, Junior and Mom are going. We got some more tickets, Dad and all the other kids are going too," said Coronado. Coronado said he met Aguilar at a celebration about four months ago when he was coming off chemotherapy. "I had heard they've never been to a game before, so I said, 'Let's get them to a game,' " he said. The family will be sitting right next to the players' tunnel, and organizers say the family's hotel will have a full view of Allegiant Stadium. "Anything a mom could ask for, especially a mom with a lot of kids, who aren't able to do this for their kids, and for them to be able to do this for us? We're excited," Barkett said. "Definitely a memory to remember forever for sure." Aguilar said he's really looking forward to watching Maxx Crosby, his favorite Raider, and hopefully watching a silver and black win in person for the first time.

Seahawks to play Sam Darnold, other starters against Chiefs
Last week when the Seattle Seahawks took on the Las Vegas Raiders in the first week of the preseason, nearly all the starters rested. Entering Week 2 of the preseason, that will change. When head coach Mike Macdonald was asked if starters will play this Friday against the Kansas City Chiefs, Macdonald stated, 'There might be a couple of guys that will vary based on whether they get out there or not. We're still working through it right now, but, our guys are going to start the game out. We'll see how long it goes.' Macdonald further mentioned that Sam Darnold and the offense as a whole will get playing time against Kansas City, indicating that even though it's not a necessity, 'it's the best thing for us.' Notably, in last week's tie versus the Raiders, there were only a few non-rookie starters/key contributors who saw playing time: Abe Lucas, Anthony Bradford, and Josh Jobe, of whom Bradford and Jobe are in camp battles at their respective positions. Listening to what coach Macdonald had to say, the dozens of other starters, notably Sam Darnold and the rest of the offense, seem to be in store for at least one or two drives on Friday night. This is not atypical for preseason Week 2 in today's NFL. The Chiefs, however, are breaking from their usual pattern under Andy Reid and are likely to rest starters (including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce) against the Seahawks. With that, if there is any tell as to what the 2025 Seahawks may look like this season, this Friday night against the Chiefs may be the closest Seahawks' fans will get until the regular season.

We hit 25 in our Raiders countdown to kickoff. Who wore it best and who's wearing it now
We've reached 25 days until the Raiders season opener at Foxboro against the Patriots, With our countdown at 25 days we take a look at who currently dons the number in Silver & Black and who has brought it the most distinction. No. 25 Who's wearing it now: CB DeCamerion Richardson Entering his second season, the former fourth round pick out of Mississippi State is making a play to see more snaps this season. He has seen reps with the first team defense on occasion and that could continue come the season. At 6-2, Pete Carroll likes his size as an outside cornerback. Who wore it best: WR Fred Biletnikoff While 25 is not a number you see on receivers in today's day and age, Biletnikoff made a Hall of Fame career in the 60s and 70s wearing it. His entire 14-year career was suited up for the Raiders. Six times making the Pro Bowl and twice named an All Pro. He owned every major receiving record in Raiders franchise history until Tim Brown eventually surpassed many of them. And that was in a very different era some 25 years before Brown overtook his records. And Brown had two more seasons in which to do it. The name of the award for the best receiver in college football each year still bears his name.
