Meg Mathews leaves Oasis gig before song her ex-husband Noel Gallagher wrote about her

Meg Mathews made a swift exit before the band returned to the stage to sing some of their biggest songs. Meg Mathews was seen leaving the Oasis gig in Cardiff a bit early on Friday evening, July 4, as the band played a poignant song amid their highly-anticipated return. Meg had been there to support her former flame, Noel Gallagher, during the maiden gig of the tour. Sources told the Mirror that "after posting about her ex-husband for weeks, Meg had a prime seat for watching the band". ‌ She had also been "in great spirits before the set, watching Richard Ashcroft with pals." However, she bailed before the encore, having been seen exiting the concert before the band returned to belt out some of their greatest hits. ‌ These included Don't Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova. The track Wonderwall might strike a particularly sensitive chord with Meg, though, as Noel had famously claimed he penned it on a dreary Tuesday evening for his then-girlfriend. Speaking in 1996, Noel said: "It's about my girlfriend, Meg Mathews. She had a company which folded and she was feeling a bit sorry for herself. The sentiment is that there was no point in her feeling down, she has to sort my life out for me because I'm in bits had the time." Contrastingly, in a dramatic turnabout in 2002, Noel declared that Wonderwall wasn't actually about Meg at all, reports the Mirror. "The meaning of that song was taken away from me by the media who jumped on it, and how do you tell your missus it's not about her once she's read it is?" Noel explained. "It's a song about an imaginary friend who's gonna come and save you from yourself." Meg Mathews reacted to claims that Wonderwall wasn't about her in a 2005 interview, despite Noel previously suggesting it was. She expressed her confusion, saying: "All of a sudden, when I was getting divorced, he said it wasn't about me, so I don't really understand." ‌ This comes after Meg recently denied rumors that she and Noel were rekindling their romance following his second divorce. She had been posting nostalgic photos on social media, sparking fan speculation about a possible reunion. Fans have been enthusiastically commenting on the throwback pictures, with one writing: "Please tell us you are back together again," and another saying: "So nice to see you still love and support your ex. ‌ "So healthy to have that bond. Especially when you have a beautiful daughter together." Others have also chimed in, with one fan stating: "Meg these pics are the best! ! You'll always have a bond, you share an amazing child who is a credit to you both". Another added: "The best era, and the best couple, wish you two got back together." Meg has firmly denied any reconciliation, saying it's a definite "no" when asked if she and Noel were back together. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Aldi's copycat Pimm's is back on shelves – it's £16 cheaper & ‘tastes very similar'

Despite the staggeringly low price, the drink tastes 'very similar' to the real thing. It comes in a 0.7L bottle, meaning there is plenty to share around if you're hosting a garden party or summertime barbecue. According to Laura Stott, The Sun's food and drink expert, you'll 'struggle to spot the difference' between the real and the fake Pimm's. Like the real product, the dupe is a blend of gin, fruit and grain spirit and comes in a bottle designed to mirror Pimm's. There is even the iconic Union Jack at the bottom of the label. Aldi sells the summer drink for just £6.89, where Pimm's normally sells for £22.50. That's an incredible saving of £16. Laura said the only difference between the two products is that there is a 'slightly different hue' in the glass and a 'touch more' sweetness. She gave the product a flawless score of 5/5. Pimms has long been associated with one of Britain's most famous sporting events: Wimbledon. The unseen nightmare of living in Wimbledon The 2025 Championships kicked off on June 23 and end on July 13. Several fan-favourite players will be returning, including last year's winners Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krejčíková. Emma Raducanu is also playing for the trophy, after being embroiled in controversy last year. The star was set to play doubles with Andy Murray, in what was set to be the Scottish player's final match at the event. However, Emma pulled out at the last minute - bringing Andy's Wimbledon career to an abrupt end. Emma said that she pulled out due to 'stiffness' and said she needed to 'prioritise myself, my singles and my body'. She was eliminated from the competition by New Zealand's Lulu Sun. However, Emma has returned to this year's competition in high spirits and has grown close to Carlos Alcaraz.
