Michael McIntyre faces off with traffic warden as £195,000 Mercedes gets towed in Kensington

Metro14-05-2025

Michael McIntyre's day took a turn for the worse when his flashy sports car got towed away.
The comedian looked less than pleased as he watched his £195,000 vehicle get hoisted onto a truck in London's High Street Kensington.
Typically the jolliest man on telly, 49-year-old Michael had a rather animated exchange with an official wearing a yellow hi-vis jacket.
Alas, there was seemingly nothing he could do to prevent his Mercedes-AMG GT R from being taken away with its wheels clamped.
Photos taken this afternoon capture the Big Show host looking dapper wearing his signature navy suit with a pink shirt and his famous glasses.
Construction workers watched the scenes unfold after Michael parked his motor in a parking bay reserved for police cars.
Michael's love of luxury cars is well documented, as he's also been the proud owner of a Jaguar and a Ferrari in the past.
He's also well acquainted with the Mercedes-Benz brand, having already owned a dark blue Mercedes AMG GT, which he splurged on in 2014.
As for his current ride, the TV star's model can be purchased for any figure between £155k and £195k.
It can accelerate to 62mph in just 3.6 seconds and go up to 200mph, but, unfortunately for Michael, he's going nowhere fast anytime soon.
Michael has amassed a staggering fortune since his rise to fame on the comedy scene, as it's now reported his net worth is £80million.
He married his wife, Kitty, in 2003 and they've been happily loved-up since, as she frequently walks red carpets with him and provides inspiration for his hilarious stand-up routines—probably much to her dismay. More Trending
As of 2023, Michael and Kitty have lived in Hampstead, but they also have a house in Wiltshire.
In May 2020, the comic splashed out on a second home after enjoying an increase in earnings, purchasing another pad in the capital for a mega £10million.
With a price tag like that, the property obviously boasts some impressive amenities. It has eight bedrooms, a pool in the basement, a fancy cinema room, and a spa.
Michael and Kitty, who works as an aromatherapist, have two sons, Lucas and Oscar, who, as you can imagine, also serve as a muse for their famous father's comedy.

Michail Antonio shares footage as he learns to walk again after horrific crash

West Ham star Michail Antonio was involved in a horror car crash in December last year and has given a behind-the-scenes look at his gruelling recovery which involved learning how to walk again Michail Antonio has shared a video of his recovery from his horror car crash after vowing to return to football. The West Ham star was involved in an awful collision in December last year in Essex. His Ferrari was at the heart of a single-vehicle collision, leaving him with a broken leg. Antonio immediately underwent surgery for his shocking injury but was discharged from hospital three weeks later. ‌ Antonio, 35, has now taken to Instagram to give supporters a look at his gruelling recovery, alongside the caption: "Faith will overcome all challenges". The video which appeared on his official social media began with the wreckage of Antonio's car, while it also showed him in hospital immediately after the incident. ‌ Antonio then shared videos of him walking with a frame alongside doctors, as well as a clip of West Ham teammates visiting him in hospital. Other videos then show him at the Hammers' training ground on crutches, with the striker eventually gaining strength to walk unaided. The veteran is then pictured hard at work in West Ham's gym. The Jamaican international's emotional return to the London Stadium is also documented. The video then ends with Antonio training with a ball, as well as him being given a round of applause by his West Ham team-mates upon his return to team sessions. A number of his colleagues have replied to the update. Tomas Soucek replied with three heart emojis, while Vladimir Coufal wrote: "Respect brother". Ex-West Ham captain and current Arsenal star Declan Rice also replied as he wrote: "Monster." Antonio's latest update comes after he admitted he was close to being killed in the smash. "The most difficult part is that I almost wasn't there for my children," Antonio told the BBC's Morning Live. "It's just made me happy, positive about life, because I've got another chance at life. "During this, we kept it away from the kids. My eldest saw it, and he struggled with it. He's 13, and obviously people were showing photos of the car. So he came down and saw me in the hospital. But the younger ones, they never really knew how bad the situation was. We kind of avoided letting them get on the internet." ‌ He added: "It gave me a weird feeling in my stomach. It just made me realise how close I was to dying. I had seen the pictures but it was 10 times worse in person. The car was an absolute mess. It was difficult for me." Despite that, Antonio vowed to be back on the pitch. His West Ham contract comes to an end this summer. "Yes, 100 per cent. I will play again," he said. "It's the biggest injury I've ever had in my career. But the fact that I'm already two to three months ahead of where I should be, I know that I'll play again, and I know that once I'm playing the game I'll get the sharpness back. "People have always doubted me. My mental strength is something that I've always believed in and this is just another setback, and it is not going to stop me." Mercedes-AMG Unleashes Special Edition Flagship SUV Limited to 450 Examples

Tired of losing your six-figure, high-performance AMG SUV in the parking lot? Mercedes-AMG is happy to oblige An already exclusive super SUV goes VIP-only with a bevy of special features and a low production run The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 already sits at the top of the Mercedes SUV food chain. The V8-powered monster commands an awesome $150,650 to start, with no shortage of ways to send that price tag even further into the stratosphere. But when you're already spending that kind of money, why not opt for something less than 500 people worldwide can claim access to? We can't really relate, but it seems Mercedes thinks there are at least a few hundred people who see it that way. Thus, Affalterbach introduced the 2026 AMG GLS 63 Manufaktur Arctic Silver Edition. 0:08 / 0:09 Tesla sales in Europe drop yet again Watch More 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ MANUFAKTUR Arctic Silver Edition 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ MANUFAKTUR Arctic Silver Edition 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ MANUFAKTUR Arctic Silver Edition The special AMG GLS 63 is more than just a fresh coat of paint As opulent as it is long-named, the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 Manufaktur Arctic Silver Edition touts tons of details that separate it from the flock of GLS SUVs you may or may not see on your morning commute. Perhaps most obviously, it wears Manufaktur Cirrus Silver Magno paint, a hue apparently exclusive to the model. Red and black accents dot the otherwise almost subtle exterior, with massive 23-inch wheels bearing red accents along the rim and center caps, accenting the red-painted calipers. 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 Manufaktur Edition — Source: Mercedes-AMG Other blacked-out accents come courtesy of the included AMG Night Package. While not exclusive to the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 Manufaktur Arctic Silver Edition, it goes a long way here with the special red accents. The tailpipes wear a dark chrome finish, and the roof rails are painted matte black. The 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 Manufaktur Arctic Silver Edition also benefits from a front splitter, air inlets, and wing mirrors painted glossy black. Inside, the red and black theme continues. Arguably, the prettiest highlight is the red-accented carbon fiber dash trim, exclusive to the Arctic Silver Edition. For upholstery, the special GLS 63 dons Carmine Red and Black Nappa leather. An AMG Performance steering wheel, Manufaktur black door sills with edition-specific AMG lettering, and ultra comfy deep-pile floor mats round out the ultra-special additions for the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 Manufaktur Arctic Silver Edition. A nine-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels, allowing the behemoth to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in a Mercedes-estimated 4.1 seconds. Of course, in this arena, you gotta bring the big guns. Close competitors include the BMW ALPINA XB7, which manages 631 horsepower, and the Range Rover SV, which makes do with 606 horsepower. It's crowded at the top. Final thoughts Mercedes has made it a tradition not to release pricing on these special Manufaktur Edition cars, and the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 Manufaktur Arctic Silver Edition is no exception. One thing is for sure: it won't be cheap, as checking a few Manufaktur boxes on the regular SUV sends the MSRP deep into $170k territory. There is some comfort if you're in the market, however. It seems unlikely that the AMG Manufaktur model will topple the Maybach GLS 600, which starts at $178,450 and permanently occupies the highest rung of the GLS ladder. After all, we don't want any Maybach buyers thinking they're getting the cheap version. About the Author Steven Paul View Profile

Andy Murray's regret at worst investment from £110million net worth in two-week U-turn

Andy Murray's regret at worst investment from £110million net worth in two-week U-turn Andy Murray boasts a massive net worth estimated at £110million, but having the funds to afford one luxury purchase wasn't enough to deter him from ditching it soon after Andy Murray is estimated to have a nine-figure net worth, but riches weren't enough to convince him to keep one luxury buy (Image: Getty Images ) Tennis legend Andy Murray's brief fling with his Ferrari ended abruptly as he decided to part ways with the sports car shortly after purchasing it. The Scot, who turned pro in 2005, began making his mark on the ATP Tour early on and won eight tournaments in his first three years. However, 2009 marked a significant shift for Murray, who secured six tournament wins that year, including two ATP Masters 1000 events. ‌ With his prize money mounting and an additional two victories in 2010, upgrading his wheels was high on his agenda, particularly after passing his driving test that year. The Glaswegian has the means to buy any car on the market considering he boasts a net worth of £110million. ‌ That's according to the tennis icon's rank on the latest Sunday Times Rich List, which was released just last month. While he learnt to drive in a Volkswagen Polo, Murray felt a more flashy motor would be fitting given his burgeoning success on the tour, leading him to shell out £177,000 on a red Ferrari F430. Despite the allure of the luxury vehicle, he chose to sell it after a swift U-turn. In addition to the eye-watering price tag, he also reportedly had to fork out £100,000 for the car's insurance. That was due to him being deemed 'high risk' by insurers due to being under 25, male and a new driver at the time. He disclosed in a 2016 interview that the attention he garnered from driving the car played a crucial role in his decision to let it go. And it ended with him reverting to a much more modest model. Article continues below Murray parted ways with his Ferrari F430 after only a few months (Image:) "When I started to do quite well on the tour I thought I'd treat myself to a bright red Ferrari," he told The Telegraph. "I had always had a soft spot for them as a car brand and, when I was in the position to afford one, I decided to go for it. "However, I had to pay an incredible amount to get insured on it and, after a couple of weeks of driving it around, I realised it wasn't quite my style." ‌ He added that the compact size of the car posed challenges when he wanted to drive friends around. And he couldn't even fit his tennis gear into the Italian machine, which helped confirm his decision to ditch it. "I'm not flash by any means, but a bright red Ferrari is a definite head-turner and I hated that," Murray added. "It was also incredibly impractical, particularly when it came to finding space for a friend or for my tennis bag, so I decided to sell it after a few months." The Scot still owns the Volkswagen Polo he learnt to drive in (Image: Getty Images ) Article continues below It was a full circle moment for Murray, who initially splashed out £200,000 on an Aston Martin. That's before he reverted back to the VW Polo he learnt to drive in, which remains in his ownership more than 15 years on. It speaks to Murray's humble nature that he still owns that car despite boasting a nine-figure net worth. But that doesn't mean he hasn't come to appreciate other luxury models in recent years. His current collection is understood to include a Mercedes AMG GTS, which reportedly came with a tennis ball paint job. He's also believed to own a Tesla Model X, Jaguar I-Pace and a BMW i8.
