Jahan Dotson first TD Super Bowl bettors couldn't believe his opening score was overturned

USA Today10-02-2025

Jahan Dotson didn't have great odds to score a touchdown in the 2025 Super Bowl, let alone good odds to score the first touchdown. So, anyone who bet on his long-shot odds had to be over the moon when the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver came down with a 28-yard catch from Jalen Hurts for what appeared to be the first points of the game.
That brief moment of joy was met with equal distress just a few seconds later when the touchdown was overturned and Dotson was ruled down at the one. Everyone knew what was coming next: a Jalen Hurts tush push.
While there may not have been many Dotson (+6600) bettors, there were at least a few, as captured in a clip posted on social media. And they were left distraught.
They all bet Jahan Dotson First TD…
Vibes instantly crashed when he was marked short 😅

Someone in that frame had a $20 bet to win $1,420, and it went from a winner to a loser just like that.

Chiefs will have to choose between renovated Arrowhead Stadium or new dome in Kansas

The Chiefs are on track to get the public money they need to renovate Arrowhead Stadium. Along they way, they've unlocked an opportunity to get a new stadium in Kansas. Now, as explained by the Kansas City Business Journal (via Sports Business Journal) they'll have to pick one of the two projects. In the coming days, the Missouri legislature could be approving a plan to pay for 50 percent of a $1.15 billion overhaul of the Chiefs' long-time home. The other option would entail a significantly more expensive new stadium that will have a roof — and, in turn, more events in non-football season and a potential Super Bowl. The Chiefs have said they want a dome. But Arrowhead is a special place with a vibe that will be difficult to replicate. A full and final decision could be coming soon. Kansas has said its offer expires at the end of June. Which is just a few weeks away.

First image of Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis on field together

New England Patriots cornerbacks Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis III were captured in a picture together on the practice field at minicamp. The All-Pro corner and veteran Super Bowl champion combination will be one of the most formidable duos in any defensive backfield. Gonzalez is coming off a season where he recorded 59 tackles, 11 pass break-ups and two interceptions, while Davis had 54 tackles, 11 pass deflections and two interceptions. Advertisement Together, they are a nightmare pairing who should give opposing offenses fits. For right now, they are making life hard for second-year quarterback Drake Maye and the Patriots offense on the practice field. The Patriots posted a clip of Gonzalez snagging a one-handed interception against Maye on their social media account. Gonzalez has looked like a future star in the NFL, and now, he is being paired with one of the more reliable defensive backs in the league. That goes without mentioning all of the improvements along the defensive front. The Patriots' defense has improved at every level, and now, they have a real opportunity to make some serious noise in 2025. Advertisement Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.
