Just as the Grand Californian private theme park entrance to Disney California Adventure reopened, Disney has announced that its other private hotel entrance to the park near Pixar Place Hotel will be temporarily closed. This entrance, located across the street from the Pixar Place Hotel, will be closed starting today through mid-June for construction to install the new entry gates. Right now, there aren't any turnstiles to enter at this location, as the process is just that a Cast Member scans your ticket after you go through security.
Disney shared that during this closure, guests can use the newly reopened Grand Californian's private theme park entrance located near GCH Craftsman Bar and Grill. This is a slightly further walk for Pixar Place Hotel guests, as you have to cut through the hotel to get to this entrance.
This batch of new entry gates will be the final installation at the resort for this project, as all of the other theme park entrances across the resort are utilizing this new system.

For as many people who complained, we saw a large percentage say they thought it was really clever. Some people also complained we didn't do *The New Avengers with a 'z'! But we welcome healthy debate.' Yeah, I'd say the fans that already saw the movie where the ones that thought the marketing was clever because it didn't hurt their movie-going experience. The studio rebranded the movie as *The New Avengers on posters and promo assets shortly after Thunderbolts opened, a move that many saw as premature, especially considering Marvel's usual spoiler-free grace period on social channels. Fans who missed opening weekend understandably felt blindsided. In the film, the twist unfolds near the end after the Sentry situation spirals out of control, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine publicly spins her ragtag group of heroes, Yelena, Red Guardian, U.S. Agent, Bucky, Ghost, and Bob, into heroes by branding them the 'New Avengers.' It's a big PR move for her. The post-credits scene then reveals Sam Wilson is putting together his own real Avengers team… and he's not thrilled. A lot of Marvel fans hoping for a surprise in the theater got a Marvel-branded reminder… nothing's sacred when the marketing machine kicks in.

Disney+ series showrunner denies hit ‘Star Wars' show is a ‘left-wing' political story
'Andor' series showrunner Tony Gilroy said Thursday he does not believe his 'Star Wars' series is 'left-wing.' In an interview with New York Times columnist Ross Douthat on his podcast 'Interesting Times,' Gilroy denied that he wrote the show to represent a left-wing revolution against fascist authoritarians. Advertisement 'I never think about it that way. It was never- I mean, I never do. I don't,' Gilroy declared in response to Douthat asking if he agreed the show is a 'left-wing work of art.' The second season of the critically acclaimed series debuted on Disney+ in April. It follows the adventures of Cassian Andor, a key player in the rebellion against the Galactic Empire. He was a main character in the hit 2016 movie 'Rogue One.' While introducing his guest, he said, 'The 'Star Wars' serial 'Andor' has somehow managed to pull off originality within the constraints of a familiar franchise, pleasing obsessive fans and critics alike. Part of its originality is that it has an explicitly political and, to my mind, left-wing perspective on its world, without feeling at all like tedious propaganda.' 'No, I don't,' Douthat said. 'But I don't think that you have to be left-wing to resist authoritarianism. I see the Empire as you just described it: It's presented as a fascist institution that doesn't have any sort of communist pretense to solidarity or anything like that. It's fascist and authoritarian, and you're meditating on what revolutionary politics looks like in the shadow of all that.'

A new "Coco"-themed attraction is also planned for the park, with construction starting this fall. Mike and Sulley's days are numbered at Disneyland. Disney California Adventure Park's Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! attraction, based on the beloved Disney and Pixar film, will close to make room for the park's upcoming Avatar destination. The dark ride will shutter in early 2026, Disneyland Resort announced Thursday. Disneyland did not share a specific closing date. Part of Disney California Adventure's Hollywood Backlot area will be reimagined for the new Avatar area. Inspired by multiple 'Avatar' films, guests will get to experience a different part of Pandora than at Animal Kingdom's Pandora – The World of Avatar. The areas that will house the ride 'are predominantly backstage today,' the blog post said. Construction is scheduled to start this fall. As part of the resort's expansion – including its Avengers Campus, which will double in size with two new attractions – additional parking and transportation options will be added on Disneyland Resort's east side. 'This new area will provide approximately 6,000 parking spaces, shuttle and rideshare areas, security screening and dedicated access for traffic off of Disney Way, improving parking and traffic flow throughout the resort area,' the blog post said.
