The Osbourne family shared the sad news saying, 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time,' as quoted by The Guardian report.

His last performance was on 5 July, Osbourne had reunited with his original bandmates in the pioneering group Black Sabbath for the first time since 2005, for Back to the Beginning, an all-star farewell concert featuring some of the biggest names in metal, as reported by by The Guardian.

An Emotional Night in Birmingham
Osbourne spoke to the crowd at Villa Park, Birmingham that night about his extensive health issues including a form of Parkinson's and numerous surgeries on his spine, saying, 'I've been laid up for six years,' as quoted in the The Guardian. He then added, "You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart," as quoted in the report.
The
heavy metal singer
had been diagnosed with
Parkinson's disease
in 2019, as reported by Wales Online.
He along with his fellow original Black Sabbath members, which include, Tony Iommi, Terence 'Geezer' Butler and Bill Ward, were the last to appear on stage as part of a star-studded line-up for the Back to the Beginning concert, according to Wales Online report.
During the concert, Osbourne had shared that he planned to continue to record music, but that the concert marked the end for him performing live, according to the report.
A Concert With a Cause
The event's musical director Tom Morello revealed that the show had raised £140 million for charity, and the money was to be split between Birmingham Children's Hospital, Cure Parkinson's, and Midlands-based Acorns Children's Hospice, as per Wales Online.
