Falconeri debuts silk capsule collection and new campaign with Paris fête and novel pasta

Fashion Network16-05-2025

Falconeri, the innovative Italian cashmere marque, has debuted a new silk capsule collection and its latest campaign entitled 'Grazie Mille, Italy.'
An editorial paying tribute to the authentic beauty of the brand's homeland, the series was shot by artist Sam Youkilis in the maze of Rome. Depicting the Italian art of living, made up of shared moments enjoyed while dining al fresco intimately on the cobbled streets of the Immortal City.
This week in Paris, the brand then feted the silks and the shots with a party inside Signorvino near the Seine, featuring the campaign and a novel pasta. Signorvino is a restaurant and wine bar concept developed by Oniverse, the Italian lifestyle investment vehicle that controls Falconeri as well as Calzedonia, Intimissimi, Tezenis and Antonio Marras.
Serving antipasti signed Signorvino, featuring a demonstration by chef Simon Auscher, who created a Garofalo pasta recipe. Guests even left with packets of Garofalo's giant shell Conchiglioni pasta.
The shoot in Rome features characters attired in the finest fibers: an alloy of silk and cotton, 100% silk knits and linen; reinterpreted here in sleek, sophisticated lines. Linen and cotton polo shirts look perfect for men looking for the latest trends, while silk blouses are the ideal choice for women seeking comfort and lightness.
The sumptuous scarves feature elegant illustrations of cities in which Falconeri boasts flagships: Athens, Cannes, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, New York, Paris and Tokyo.
'This Limited Edition brings together all Italian savoir-faire in a line of twenty-four original scarves. Each scarf captures the essence of a city around the world through an original design. These vibrant illustrations pay tribute to the beauty of each city's iconic landscapes, reflecting both their color palette and their cultural heritage,' said Falconeri in a release.
Designed to be worn and collected, Falconeri Limited Edition scarves elevate a casual look in any circumstance. Such as in the Grazie Mille, Italy photo project — an invitation to rediscover the beauty of everyday life in all its simplicity.
Priced at €98, the scarves are sold in Falconeri stores around the world and on the brand's e-commerce site.

Eurostar to launch routes to Germany and Switzerland

The new direct routes would open from the early 2030s, in addition to new services from Amsterdam and Brussels to Geneva, the international rail company said. Announced at the back of positive year-end results, Eurostar said in a statement that it would invest two billion euros (£1.6 billion) in the new services to major European cities and 50 new trains, bringing its total fleet to 67 trains. The announcement comes amid "continued demand for international rail travel across Europe", according to Eurostar, which currently operates in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. While it currently has connecting services to Cologne, the new routes will directly serve the German financial capital and global diplomatic hub Geneva. "Our new fleet will make new destinations for customers a reality -- notably direct trains between London and Germany, and between London and Switzerland for the first time. A new golden age of international sustainable travel is here," said Eurostar CEO Gwendoline Cazenave. According to the rail company, passenger numbers rose to over 19.5 million in 2024, marking a five percent increase from the previous year. It has a target of ferrying 30 million passengers annually. The Eurostar Group merges operations of Eurostar which operates in the Channel Tunnel between the UK and France, and Thalys, which runs high-speed rail services from Paris to Amsterdam and German cities. Eurostar also said it would increase daily services between London, Rotterdam and Amsterdam starting later this year. "I am pleased to welcome this exciting investment into Eurostar services, which is a huge step in promoting green travel across Europe and boosting our international rail connections," UK Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander said. The announcements come as Eurostar's three-decade monopoly in the Channel Tunnel looks likely to end. Earlier this year, Britain's Office of Rail and Road opened access to a maintenance depot along the Paris-London route to other firms, removing a hurdle to competitors offering services. Italian railway operator Trenitalia and British billionaire Richard Branson's Virgin Group have since signalled plans to open their own services on the cross-Channel line.

Fendi chooses Aitana as the muse for new campaign

The Italian fashion house strengthens its ties with Spain. Following the appointment of Spaniard Ramon Ros as CEO, Fendi continues to strengthen its ties with the country with the signing of Barcelona singer and actress Aitana Ocaña as the face of its latest campaign. As part of the collaboration, the Catalan has starred in the promotional video for the brand's latest collection, which shows Aitana discovering some of the items in the capsule, including her Peekaboo baguette bag, while her single "Segundo Intento", included in her new album "Cuarto azul", plays in the background. The campaign is now available on the official Instagram accounts of the singer and the luxury brand. This is not Aitana's first foray into the fashion universe. The singer, who rose to fame in 2017 thanks to her participation in the ninth edition of the musical contest Operación Triunfo, signed at the end of 2020 a contract with the German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas, becoming an official ambassador of the brand during this year. Founded in 1925 by Adele and Edoardo Fendi originally as a store in Rome, the Italian firm specializing in fashion, handbags and leather goods joined the portfolio of French luxury giant LVMH in 2000. Among the latest developments at Fendi was the departure of Kim Jones from the house last October, after taking the reins of its women's ready-to-wear and couture creative direction in September 2020, following the death of Karl Lagerfeld.
