Gang activity believed to be reason for Holly Springs shooting
MARSHALL COUNTY, Miss. — A group of shooters accused of putting the lives of multiple people in danger is on the run.
Now, one law enforcement officer told WREG that if these people aren't arrested soon, violence could strike again.
'These individuals shouldn't be taken lightly,' Commander Kelly McMillen said. 'They shot these people's house up. There's no remorse for life.'
Commander McMillen said it happened February 12 just after 2 a.m. on Bonner Street in Holly Springs.
'We have experienced multiple shootings here in Holly Springs and based on those investigations, what we understand and learned and developed, a lot of those individuals are either teenagers or very young adults,' McMillen said.

Deputies said they found 15 to 20 shell casings inside the home.
'There was an elderly female who was in a wheelchair. When she started hearing the rounds coming inside the house, she abandoned her wheelchair and fell face first on the floor,' McMIllen said.
McMillen added that he was shocked that no one was hurt.
'Three other adults in the upstairs area inside the residence took cover and then one of those adults took a minor child and kinda covered him to keep him from being struck by gunfire,' McMillen said.
Investigators said they have some clues about the gunmen but not enough to arrest anyone.

'We believe that there is some gang activity involved in this,' McMillen said. 'One of these incidents happened while vehicles were passing in the road. It's not like they target a central location; they target wherever they see these individuals at.'
McMillen said that's why it's important for anyone who may know anything about the Bonner Street shooting or any of the other Holly Springs shootings to call investigators.
'Until we make some arrests, we do believe there could be other incidents that could take place,' McMillen said.

WREG reporter carjacked at gunpoint in Memphis
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A WREG News Channel 3 reporter was carjacked at gunpoint at a gas station Tuesday morning. It happened around 10:30 at the Mobil gas station at E.H. Crump Boulevard and Third Street, on a busy corner just about a mile east of WREG's studio and offices. A man approached reporter Mike Suriani while he was on assignment and demanded his news vehicle, a white 2016 Toyota RAV4. Suriani said he was at a gas pump and got out of the vehicle when a man wearing a mask approached from the sidewalk and shouted to give him the car keys. The man had his hand on a gun that was sticking out of his pocket. Suriani handed over the keys and the man drove off southbound on Third Street. The reporter was unhurt. The suspect got away with the Toyota with camera gear inside. There was not a WREG logo on the side, but the number 19 is on the bottom right bumper of the vehicle. The tag number is BHM 6360. Police described the suspect as a male with a dark complexion, possibly 6 feet tall, wearing a black head scarf, white jacket, gray shirt and black pants. Dad of missing boy, 2, may have told tot's mom he threw son off NYC bridge : sources
The father of the 2-year-old boy who vanished during a custodial visit last month may have told the tot's mom at knifepoint that he threw their son into the Bronx River, law enforcement sources said Tuesday. Arius Williams, 20, the dad of little Montrell Williams – who has been missing since May 10 – allegedly pulled a knife on the boy's mother when they ran into each other on the street Sunday, the sources said. During the confrontation, the armed dad allegedly claimed he threw the couple's son off the Bruckner Bridge, according to the sources. 4 Arius Williams, 20, the father of little Montrell Williams, disturbingly claimed he threw his toddler son into the Bronx River, sources said. NYPD Surveillance footage from that night – showing Arius throwing a black bag into the river – could back up that claim, the sources said. The NYPD dispatched dive teams to comb the area Monday night but found nothing, and were continuing to search Tuesday, according to the sources. Arius was ordered held without bail on a warrant for custodial interference Monday, after refusing to tell a family court judge his son's whereabouts, cops and sources said. 4 Williams made the sickening claim about a month after his 2-year-old son's disappearance, sources said. Desheania Andrews Charges are pending against the dad in connection to the knifepoint incident, the sources said. The disturbing ordeal unfolded on May 10 when Montrell – who was dropped off by his mom a day earlier for a custody visit – was at his dad's Hunts Point Avenue house for a Mother's Day celebration, the sources said.
